For context, I have (a lot of) medium length curly hair. I know the heating isn’t great for hair health, but most of the time in the warmer months instead of going curly I use a blow dryer brush to blow it out smooth.
I’ve been using the Revlon one, but after a few months the bristles flatten, it gets gross build up etc so I recently upgraded to the T3 multi tool thinking it would work better and save me time and money in the long run (especially because the heads are detachable so cleaning and storing it without causing damage are easier.)
However, since using this new tool, I have really had trouble smoothing my curls and keeping them smooth. I use a heat protector and smoothing spray, I separate into sections, etc but after a couple of hours the back of my hair has random kinks and bumps in it that look awful 😞
What am I doing wrong? Why does the $350 hair dryer smooth less than the cheap one? As far as I can tell, I’m blowing it to total dryness so there’s no residual moisture to puff it up, but it seems like nothing I do lasts. My hairdresser uses the comparable Shark multi tool, but recommended T3 as well and when she dries my hair it looks amazing and lasts for days regardless of humidity.
Tips/tricks/answers would be so appreciated. I’m growing so frustrated with this I think about cutting it all off — but I love my long hair and don’t want to 😭
