I think it looks good! It looks more off-white(?) based on fan pictures but I like it. It could've had more orange accents to it...but I get what they're going for

His name is Soori. Soori means eagle in Korean, so it's probably a nod to the Hanhwa Eagles! Very cute!

*Update!! Soori is a boy!!

Discussion Current roster can be new ZOFGK bur even better

It came to my mind today that all of them except Deligt have military excemption. HLE is extreamly rich org which seems to take a good care of the players. Zeus and Guma were a inportant factor of ZOFGK - best carry top and best weakside bot. Kanavi has a explosive playstyle which can be similar to ZOFGK entertainment factor. Zeka has a clutch factor and he is better laner than Faker. Only Delight is a question mark for me.

Anyway, based on above I dont see them moving anywhere, I think they can play together forever and after few years become even more iconic roster than ZOFGK.

What do you think? Is it possible in your opinion or dont you see the potential? Do you think that they can reach the same popularity level? What do you think about Delight in this context?

Discussion cvMax on Kanavi: From Nearly Having His Career Destroyed to Becoming One of the Best Junglers in the World

Thumbnail

I came across a clip of cvMax talking about Kanavi during his Griffin days, and it's honestly a crazy story, especially now that Kanavi is playing for HLE.

According to cvMax, most aspiring pros would try out for multiple teams, like SKT, Griffin, and Afreeca. But Kanavi only tried out for Griffin.

When cvMax asked him why, Kanavi basically replied:

"Griffin is the number one team, right? And if I beat the number one team's jungler, that makes me number one, doesn't it?"

That jungler was Tarzan.

And the funniest part? Kanavi was apparently only around 400 LP at the time.

cvMax thought this kid was absolutely insane for saying something like that.

But then the story gets really dark.

During the Griffin controversy, Kanavi was accused of tampering. According to cvMax, Griffin's management wanted to use that accusation to permanently end Kanavi's professional career.

cvMax says Kanavi hadn't actually committed tampering.

He recalled Kanavi breaking down in tears, saying his life was ruined, that he didn't understand how things had ended up like this, and that he wanted to retire.

Think about that for a second.

The same kid who walked into Griffin with the confidence to challenge Tarzan, believing he could become the best jungler in Korea, was now crying and talking about retirement before his career had even properly started.

cvMax also described how young players who knew little about contracts and regulations could be pressured through accusations and threats, while being told that everything was supposedly for their own good.

What makes this story hit even harder is knowing where Kanavi ended up.

He went from almost losing his career before it began to becoming one of the most accomplished junglers in the LPL, winning MSI and Asian Games gold(2023 Hangzhou), and eventually joining HLE.

That kid who wanted to beat the best jungler on the best team never lost his ambition.

It's crazy to think how close we might have been to never seeing Kanavi become the player he is today.

Question Worlds Day One

Let me know if this isn’t allowed to be posted but are any other HLE fans going to be there day one and two in Allen? I’m trying to see if there’s people to talk to before the venue opens since parking will be atrocious and I’ll have to get there very early.

Interview "I thought about my former (T1) teammates" Gumayusi After Winning MSI with Hanwha Life Esports

Post image
321 Upvotes

Gumayusi said his former T1 teammates were among the first people he thought about after finally winning MSI 2026 with HLE.

ā€œI thought about the former teammates who had been with me at MSI over the years. We had fallen short and missed out on the title before, so I think there was still that sense of regret, like, ā€˜It would have been nice if I could have won it with my former teammates too...’.ā€

ā€œI left a team I’m incredibly grateful to, one that gave me the precious opportunity to start, because I wanted to find and create new value for myself. I went into the new environment determined and confident that I could accomplish anything there as well.ā€

Gumayusi still wished he could have won it alongside his former teammates after falling short together in previous years.

Interview Gumayusi: Hanwha Life Esports respected my existing strengths and helped them shine.

Q. You left the team you were with for a long time and joined Hanwha Life Esports for the 2026 season.

A.Ā "I wanted to leave a team I was truly grateful to—one that gave me the precious opportunity of my 'beginning'—and create new value for myself. I strengthened my resolve with the confidence that I could accomplish anything, even in a new environment."

Q. How was the process of adjusting to your new team and teammates?

A.Ā "Rather than forcing me to change my playstyle to fit Hanwha Life Esports, the team respected my existing strengths and helped them shine. While I grew and adapted further in terms of in-game performance, I think I also grew a lot outside the game by adjusting to my new teammates, sharing experiences, and communicating."

Q. You lifted the 2026 MSI trophy. Who and what were the first thoughts that came to mind the moment victory was secured?

A.Ā "I thought of my former teammates with whom I had competed in past MSIs. I think it was because we had previously suffered disappointing defeats and missed out on the title, leaving me with a lingering thought: 'It would have been wonderful if I could have won it with my former teammates, too...'"

Q. Do you recall any memorable encounters following your public confession of faith?

A.Ā "I remember receiving a expression of gratitude from an elderly pastor at church. I felt honored that my testimony could offer inspiration and faith to many fellow Christians."

Q. What would you like to say to Christian youth who find it difficult to openly express their faith?

A.Ā "These days, the word 'faith' seems to be used quite casually. Because I was raised in a Christian home, I also easily said I believed in God and spoke lightly of my faith, but looking back at my actual life, I don't think I was living as a person of faith. I believe that to share faith with someone, you must be able to demonstrate what a life of faith looks like. If you reflect what a faithful life is through your own actions, you will be able to spread that faith to those around you."

Q. You were selected for the Asian Games LoL national team.

A.Ā "Since I am competing to represent both my country and my teammates, I will approach it with a deep sense of responsibility. As always, my prayer is, 'Please allow us to win and bring You glory.' I would be grateful if you could pray along with me."

World-class professional gamer 'Gumayusi' Lee Min-hyung (24, Hanwha Life Esports) will represent South Korea at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games wearing the national Taegeuk flag. The esports tournament begins on the 23rd. Ahead of this major stage, his prayer request remained unchanged as always: "As always, please pray with me that 'we may win and give glory to God.'"

In the League of Legends (LoL) national team, Lee Min-hyung will join his teammates Choi Woo-je (Zeus), Kim Geon-bu (Canyon), Kim Geon-woo (Zeka), Lee Sang-hyeok (Faker), and Ryu Min-seok (Keria) to challenge for a second consecutive gold medal. Esports, which became an official event at the 2022 Hangzhou Games, features 11 events in this tournament. Its popularity is immense, with a global audience exceeding 600 million people and last year's LoL World Championship final alone reaching a peak concurrent viewership of over 6.7 million (excluding China).

Among them, Gumayusi is considered one of the top bot laners (AD carries) in world LoL. He established his reputation by reaching the top of the World Championship (Worlds)—the world's most prestigious tournament—and has drawn the attention of domestic and international fans with his bold playstyle and confident demeanor.

However, away from the arena, Lee Min-hyung is quite different.Ā Kukmin IlboĀ spoke with him through his agent via written answers, telephone, and follow-up questions on the 22nd to hear the stories of the athlete 'Gumayusi' and the Christian Lee Min-hyung. Introducing himself, he said, "'Gumayusi' is a passionate, highly confident person who loves his work," while "'Lee Min-hyung' is a quiet figure who enjoys tranquility." This is the first time he has so deeply shared his life and career through the lens of his faith.

The central keyword connecting both sides of his life is "faith." Raised in a Christian household, he never fails to declare "I give glory to God" whenever he wins a tournament or receives an MVP award. The influence of his father, Pastor Lee Sang-gon, was significant. Since his older brother Lee Shin-hyung was already active as a professional gamer, Pastor Lee was well aware of the hardships behind the glamorous stage. Nevertheless, he respected his son's choice, instilling in him proper values and confidence. Lee Min-hyung recalled, "My father guided me along the right path so I could grow up well, discovered my talent, and built up my confidence."

His social media profile features Philippians 4:13. Lee Min-hyung stated, "One of the reasons I am thankful for being raised in the faith is that it gave me the belief that 'I can accomplish anything.' Thanks to that, I believe I was able to set goals and achieve them without fear." This year in particular, he left the team he had belonged to for a long time and moved to Hanwha Life Esports. His challenge to "create new value" led to a championship victory at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).

However, that confidence did not always guarantee smooth sailing. Last year, overlapping roster competition and a slump left him suffering from severe criticism and cyberattacks. Unfounded rumors regarding his faith were even raised. Passing through those times, the faith passed down from his parents gradually became "his own faith."

"Looking back, there were moments when tears spontaneously flowed while singing hymns, experiences of overcoming tough times through prayer, and moments of giving glory to God after winning. I feel that those graces accumulated to complete who I am today."

A phrase he frequently shared with his family was, "God has a plan for everything." He said, "Looking back at my career as a pro gamer, there were many difficult moments, but I am grateful for those processes because they made me who I am today."

Particularly during last year's trials, he drew strength from the verse,Ā "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first"Ā (John 15:18). Lee Min-hyung added, "While faith and trials are inseparable, considering everything I have received and enjoyed so far, I am receiving far more grace than trials."

Despite his busy training and tournament schedule, he attends Sunday services whenever possible. Starting this year, he also formed the habit of reading the Bible and praying before going to sleep.

Lee Min-hyung does not hesitate to confess his faith in front of the public. He noted, "Testifying that everything is grace given by God is an essential value for me as a Christian. Even in an era where prejudice or hatred toward religion is expressed, faith is not something to hide. I hope the grace I have received reaches more people."

He also offered advice to the next generation, emphasizing that showing faith through one's life comes before words. Lee Min-hyung said, "I also used to easily say I believed in God simply because I grew up in a Christian home, but I don't think I actually lived as a person of faith. If you show what a faithful life looks like through your actions, you will be able to share that faith with those around you."

Lee Min-hyung will step onto the big stage representing his country and teammates starting on the 29th, when the LoL matches begin. What he wants for himself as both an athlete and a Christian was clear:

"As a player, I want to be remembered as someone who stood by his convictions and ultimately achieved everything he said he would. As a Christian, I want to live according to the Word and lead a life that I—and God—will not be ashamed of."
