If you'd like help finding an amp, we need a few details on what exactly you want out of your new amplifier. Bass amp help is welcome too!
Country/Region
It's a great help to know where you are located, some amp brands may be more expensive. Amp brands from one continent tend to be more expensive in another because of shipping, and vice versa. No need to get too specific and dox yourself.
Budget
How much are you looking to spend? Do you wanna buy a used amp, or brand new?
Genre/Style
What are you going to use the amp for? Does it need a clean channel and/or high gain?
Volume & Size Requirement
Let us know if you're trying not to bother neighbours, if you're trying to keep up with a heavy hitting drummer, or if you need the flexbility to do both! Also include if you'd prefer combo vs head & cab, if you can only haul a 1x12 or if you're trying to crank a full stack, etc.
Feel free to include other details like if you need the amp to have built in fx, digital vs solid state vs tube vs hybrid amp, whatever else will help us find you the right amp!

Pick up a shin-ei ps14 psychedelic machine today on the local used marketplace and this thing is awesome. Have been playing around with different pedal chains and what amp and effects to pair it with. Was wondering if anyone on here is familiar with these and has experience with some good pedal chains to go with it? It’s making me want to redesign my whole rig around it. The fuzz and modulation on it are top tier on their own but with paired with other pedals the potential for some amazing shoegaze and psych tones is strong.
Has anyone tried one of these with a good tube amp or have recommendations on a tube amp that would pair well with it? I have been using it through a jc120 mainly so far and adding a uafx dream pedal helped to add some warmth but I feel like it would pair well with real tube warmth like a dual reverb or orange amp for doomgaze tones.

My first tube-ish amp. Love it! The cleans are so good and the overdrive on the clean channel is also very good. Wish I got this first before my Orange Super Crush 100.

Heard much about dr.Z.
All my boutique purchases were a disappointment.
This is diffrent.
Great Jazz and folk amp.
If its good for anything else?
Yeah it does doom without a fuzz.
Its dynamic, heavy and loud. Great for fingerpicking.
Awesome attack! And plenty loud.
Itnwill work well on anything except, Metal and country

All the marketing hype on these SS amps, I hope the heads are not half empty with red lights in them. That would be unpractical bulk.
I got turned on by the ultra powerful and compact Orange baby amps where the Super Crush 100 was a turn off because of the half empty head.
What is the sense of going SS, when the SS heads are as bulky as the tube heads, just lighter?

Just got this from the guitar center as an open box unit. This is a hand wired tube amp based very closely to the Dumble Overdrive Special. Well, it's definitely special. This amp sounds incredible.

Traded my 6505+ combo for this 15w 5150 Icon and cash. It's better all around for my needs (and not starting a feud with the neighbors). Tried other modeling amps, but they were never quite "right". And an ISP Decimator to control the hiss.

Hello
I just sold my 5150 iconic because it was way too loud for bedroom use. Got a jc22. Im a metal / rock / jrock/ clean player.
amp sounds insane clean, havent had a chance to try distortion, but i keep hearing this amp sucks with dirt. I know its 6.5 speakers, im not looking to get a perfect tone, i just need something to practice when I dont want sit infront of my pc.
I struggle to find a bedroom combo under 750 for practice. Any suggestions would be awesome

Seen this pop up locally, they’re asking 500 for the pair. What are some pros and cons for both or general opinions!

Hi!
I have an Orange Tremlord, it's sturdy built, lot's of headroom, previous owner upgrades the tubes AND the speaker (now has a WGS Hook 65-8 - like a better Creamback), but: the tremolo and reverb are a bit too tame for me and the standard clean tone is warm, but maybe still a tad too dark. Basically I'm looking for a surf amp/sound, that does the bright and reverb-y kind of sounds well. Been contemplating getting a EQ pedal, and maybe trem and verb in pedal-form, or getting an new amp altogether...
Does anyone have any tips, or recommendations?

my dad bought me this as a gift so i wouldn’t have to use his amp all the time, but it’s like jacked up or something. does anyone here know if i’m just being an idiot and doing something wrong or if its broken, and if so, how i can fix it?
it’s not secondhand and we’ve only had it for like 8 hours, this is my first time turning it on. since you cant really tell in the video just how quiet it is, the sound you’re hearing is just BARELY louder than what my guitar sounds like when not plugged into an amp.

Finally got my hands on this Vox beauty!

Hi there
I’m a proud owner of a handmade Marshall 18 watt tmb combo. I like the sound of the first channel with the Volume and Tone Controls but the second channel sounds a little boring in comparison. I would love to get more gain to get a more rock like sound when needed
Was thinking of removing the mastervolumen since it’s shit anyways as well
I own a vox and have an ef86 channel modded
Was thinking to get something like that going in the Marshall too
I’m open for any Tipps ideas etc

What amps used to be dirt cheap and way underrated, but are now going for top dollar and are overrated?
Here are a few of mine; I love these amps, but used prices have gotten so high they're no longer plucky underdogs, though they still aren't quite the Fender Twin, JCM800, 5150, or Mark IIC+-VII. juggernauts.
Sovtek Mig
Red Bear
Peavey VTM, Ultraplus, XXX, JSX.
Mesa Boogie 50cal +

Hey guys, I’m wondering based on this sound what you think the issue could be with my vox ac15?
Thanks

I’ve had a Marshall DSL40C for years, but I don’t gig anymore and frankly, even at half power it’s too loud to be practical. I tried switching back to a solid state and it’s just not doing it for me. Anyway, I came across the smaller DSL20 and played it in the store in 10W mode, and it was good enough that I’m thinking about trading down.
But…I was doing some research and came across the Studio JTM combo (ST20C), which can go from 20W down to 5W mode, which is even better for me. I watched a bunch of videos and it sounds way more like my ideal tone than the DSL, but none of the stores in my general area have one I can go play in person. It’s more than 2x the price of the DSL20, and while I can afford it, buying it without getting to play it first feels sort of risky.
Long story short, does anyone have any experience with either of these amps (or even both)?

Saw this at GC and holy crap was it tempting. Started having flashbacks to HS when they came out.

I was wondering which 2x12 cabinet would suit metal and other genres best greenback, V type, or g12 anniversary.
Already have a vintage 30 cab so please dont recommend that

I've been in the market for a new amp for a while. I have Boss Katana MKII 50, but I was planning to hand that down to my 13-year-old who just started playing and find something new for me.
I've been going back and forth on whether to go tubes, just getting another Katana, or going the modeller route. I've been hesitant to get a tube amp mostly because I play pretty much only in a small bedroom, and I never really crank my amp that much. Plus, I like that I can mimic, if not replicate, different amp sounds with a modeller or sorta with the Katana.
But, I noticed a lightly used Fender Super Champ II Ragin' Cajun on Marketplace near me for what seems like a reasonable price, slightly less than what I usually see a used Blues Jr III for. From my cursory research it seems it might be better suited for bedroom players, but there doesn't seem to be as much in terms of demos and reviews out there.
As I mentioned, I'm a bedroom hobbyist. I usually play classic and alternative rock. I've just started to get some pedals and I have a couple of drives and a delay.
Any thoughts on these?
