Calling all developers, designers, and DIYers!

Whether you are an independent developer showcasing a cycling app (plz limit AI slop or face the downvotes), a researcher conducting an academic survey, or a brand or designer with a new product looking for feedback - this recurring thread is the designated space to share it.

Note: All commercial outreach, app pitches, feedback & survey requests must stay strictly within this thread unless cleared by the moderators. Posts outside of this megathread will be removed under Rule #3.

Guidelines for Posting

  • Surveys & Apps: You must explicitly disclose all relevant details regarding data collection, privacy policies, costs, and how participant information will be handled.
  • Brands & Builders: Skip posting generic press releases. Tell the community who you are, explain what you are building, and give people a reason to engage. Long-term community engagement goes a long way toward building trust, making your first and only r/gravelcycling post a plea for attention is cringe.

NBD + NWD Cube Nuroad C:62 EXC

After more than 2 months of waiting I finally got new Nuroad 2027. Still haven’t actually tried it because the weather is complete shit and I am a pussy (I like sun and warm).

Instantly changed the wheels to some wide carbon Elitewheels + Gravel Thundero HD 48mm + TL setup.

Only missing thing here is a new additional 0.5 spacer to fix the gap in the fork cap.

It's great fun to get out with such a large group of riders and have a blast around the local city and countryside trails. I was the group leader again so everyone suffered my favourite style of gravel riding, tight twisty single-track! It's interesting and fun to have to plan a route for a wider ability group than my usual close friend riders who all also MTB and just have to ride whatever I feel like planning.

Totally in love with my new bike! The colour is amazing in real life, and the pictures on Canyon's website really don't do it justice.

Recently invested in my first Specialized bike and absolutely love it. Perfect weapon for racing and even casual road riding with hard tyres.

Currently running a 44T bigger chain ring which in hindsight did some of the climbs here is a little too big.

Ride 2021, when 40mm was still enough to ride on rocks

It was 2021.
The world was in LockDown.
That made Iceland even more like a Forbidden fruit than it already seemed.
We got our jabs and took the cheapest flights possible.
For four days I rode my aero gravelbikes with 40mm fast Conti Terra Speed, and my friend his alu allroad bike with 40mm across the most amazing and insane terrain.
Really.
In hindsight we could not have had more fun, better weather of more epic scenery in those days.
Iceland 10/10 recommend - because 13/10 isnt an option.

I'm going there again in 2027. Any suggestions to take notion off?

Bike Flatbar gravel

I love my diverge but after lots of kms on rough roads I’ve injured my hands and need to switch to a flat bar. I’m nervous to spend the $ to switch bars on my diverge because I might not like how it handles.
Any recommendations for a flat bar gravel bike? I like the look of the Scott scale but need to try one as the small is borderline too big for me. Are there any other options? Looking for something for rough gravel and bikepacking. Prefer carbon with electronic shifting. Don’t need a dropper post. Thanks

Unbound hotels

Just looking at lodging for unbound. All the hotels in Emporia are already booked, and the lottery hasn't even happened yet. How does that work? How do yall do lodging for this race? I don't think I want to stay in Ottawa an hour away and drive into Emporia even earlier than I'd want to be awake for the race.

Accessories / Gear Berd Spokes and deep rims

The general thoughts seem to be that they're more comfortable to ride than conventional spokes bit require yearly truing and are obviously a lot more expensive.

Questions for the hive mind:

Are these wasted on deep (50ishmm) rims as the rims will overwhelm any extra compliance or are they more likely to balance each other out and help offset he extra weight?

Is this a silly idea:

Deeper rim on the front, cx ray spokes.

Shallower rim on the back with berd spokes.

Thought process being that more compliance on the back is where you'd want it most and by only doing one 1 wheel you're saving cash while keeping the front end aero gains where it matters most.

My new Zephyr

Post image

I’m happy with my new large Zephyr, it rides like a dream and fits very well. I’m annoyed though, that the mounts under the down tube only allow for a tool keg, and not an actual water bottle. I’ve ordered a Wolf Tooth adapter to try and remedy, but I’ve had plenty of bikes with lower mounts and they ALL allowed for a large bottle. The online info. refers to them as bottle mounts. Lynskey said I should try the mini fidlock.

Rain gear recs

Hi all. DNFed my first ultra gravel event due to cold rain that I did not have the right gear for. So give me your best recs for layers and other gear you like for rain on fall and spring days. I know everyone has different preferences, so plan on testing some options. Thanks!

Merida Silex 400 Gravel Bike 2026 vs Ribble CGR Al Tiagr

Hey

So i'm looking for a fun to ride gravel and road bike for the canal and roads. After my crash today on the road i'm looking for something fast and nippy that can handle potholes in the UK.

Anyone had any experience with any of these two bikes?

Thanks

Riding alone vs in a group

What are your preferences for riding gravel?

I find it a bit hard to decide, because generally I like to ride in a group on road with friends, but when it comes to gravel, I find it better to slow down, enjoy the scenery, take in the experience, while my friends are rushing through it with friggin zone 4 pace. It might be a skill issue, I know, git gud, but still if I'd be Pog with 300W zone2 endurance, I still wouldn't really want to be flying through the scenery.

Do y'all go easy and take gravel rides alone or with friends in conversation pace, or rather enjoying going fast?

Bike NBD - Diverge 4 Pro

My 2018 diverge finally got end-of-life, and repairs were so much (bottom bracket, drive train, calipers) that it made more sense to upgrade. Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself!

Despite fairly large geometry changes between 2018 and 2027, I had to make minimal changes to get the new ride to fit perfectly.

Riding the Spirit World 50 this fall, and I think I will really appreciate the wider tires!
