Just got finished having to reinstall GTA’s enhanced edition due to a botched OpenIV install. Had to struggle a bit to get an easy way for people to avoid the same fate.

Basically:

Make a second modding folder, you can name it GTAVMod.

Copy your GTAV_Enhanced.exe. (This creates a backup.) Then copy and paste that exe into the GTAVMod folder.

Rename the GTAV_Enhanced.exe to GTA5.exe in the GTAVMod folder.

Setup and Install OpenIV.

Run OpenIV, select GTA V for windows, and choose your created mods folder instead of the default game path.

Install whatever OIVs you need, copy over the installed files without OpenIV.asi. (Use OpenRPF.asi instead.)

And you have a modded GTA without needing to re-install everything if something goes wrong. Just remove the files you added from GTAVMods to uninstall.

If you have an error installing an OIV file, you may need to copy over a .rpf from the update folder. Check the error logs to see what files to copy as needed.

i basically get black screen after the rockstar logo at start and when i deleted it my game launches and runs like normal but mods stop working, and i literally play with mods all the time so is there a fix please?
