Hello, I bought my 88 golf mk2 with Original Coilovers and spring but the last owner gave me a Set of a Kw Suspension now I have the Fear I won't make it through the inspection because there are no puffers or Dust Protectors on them Is it Normal if not does anyone know if the Original puffers and Dust covers fit on them?

I'm having a very specific issue with my MK2 Golf (fitted with the 085 generation DGH manual gearbox) and could use some advice before I start tearing things apart.

The symptoms:

• When the car/transmission is fully warmed up, shifting into 1st gear makes the entire chassis/body shudder violently (but not always).
• This happens with the clutch pedal fully pressed down to the floor while standing completely still.
• It only happens in 1st gear. Reverse works perfectly fine, and the car does not creep forward while the pedal is down.
• Crucial detail: Normally, you feel that familiar mechanical resistance when pushing the lever into 1st (the synchro doing its job). However, when the transmission gets hot, that resistance completely disappears. The shifter just glides right into 1st with zero effort, followed immediately by the heavy shuddering.
• If I put the car in 1st gear before starting the engine (with the clutch depressed), it starts up fine without any shuddering.

ive also noticed some leaks around the speedo cable entry point. Im hoping this will be fixed with more transmission fluid, but im wondering if it sounds like bad gearbox to you guys

Like the title says, my brake pedal only start braking at the very bottom, when the car is on only tho, when the car is off the pedal is solid.

I got this gtd intercooler after searcing one for quite a while... And it just does everything a gti does.. but better, quieter and more economical.

Tweaked the pump and boost.. this thing matches gti "performance" yet using half as much fuel..

Recently got married & brought my car, my husbands (mx5) and a few of our friends brought theirs to have a mini car collection on the big day! 😜

I swapped from 1.6d to 1.6td that I find in a barn that stayed some years.

I started it but won't REV. I changed all of the fuel lines, new fuel filter but same issue. I added a pump to test with it and it looks that working good, if I pump the fuel. What it can be? Could you help me? Thank you!

Hi guys. Hopefully one of you here can possibly help me with my problem. I'm restoring a 1988 1.3 MH Golf and when changing the oil sump gasket, I managed to ruin the threads in one of the two notoriously difficult bolt holes near the flywheel. The bolt goes in and out ok but doesn't clamp at the end, which leads me to think only the last threads are ruined.

Given the very tight cramped space, I think it's out of the question for me to drill and tap the hole, atleast at my skill level, I would only be comfortable doing that with the gearbox out. So has anybody here ever gone through something similar that can give me some guidance?

The sump takes 20 bolts, all the other 19 are torqued down to 20nm, which is the value I found in the manual.

I have a mk2 manhatten with a 1.8l motor from april 1989. I some spots the paper is damaged, what could be written there? The spit on the right, next to "GOLF", beneath that, and on the bottom left, also, can anyone help me identify what all these options mean
