Starting lineup

It’s going to be a nightmare seeing how they score on nights where the 3 ball isn’t scoring if one of Nolan or Mikel isn’t in the starting lineup. Ellis and egor cannot create consistent paintbrushes out the half court and Miami tonight keyed into Randle when they realized he was the only true creator. But luckily this experiment won’t last long

This made no sense when you first said it and still doesn’t make sense now.

It makes sense to me.

The players they currently have playing in the backcourt aren't creating advantages. Everyone will point at Keon, but he isn't the problem because he's the ideal prototype of a Defensive 3&D guard.

There were multiple plays last night where they created advantages without a backcourt player (or front court player, for that matter) really doing anything but running around. The Heat defense was frequently collapsing (to great effect on their end) on Nets drives. They stress the defense through offball actions, and Egor and MPJ maximize their capabilities in that regard; I think that as long as MPJ is on the team the starting lineup will revolve around that rather than the high PnR Traore and Brown are best equipped to perform.

Traore has been running PnR with the 2nd unit and Mikel ran some with Mo last night. They play the DHO/Screen heavy offense with the first unit because they do not have a guard that can make defense react to their drives because Keon nor Egor can touch paint. If one of those players was sent to the bench unit for one of the PGs, the offense would change. I don’t think it should be Keon because he provides POA defense, what does Egor provide as a starter?
