And finally, if you're wondering when FH will come to Mac, console, etc. The answer is that we don't know yet. The devs have said they just want to focus on this launch and we'll see from there. So that's the answer for now if you're curious. On a personal note, as somebody who knows absolutely nothing about this, I imagine they will be highly motivated to get those things done eventually, but we'll have to see.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a file for the blank attack modifier cards for 2nd Edition Gloomhaven/Frosthaven.

I am trying to make my own attack cards and need a template that I can type my own content into the blank center (See the example of one of mindtheif's perks). I am a part of the CCUG discord server, but have not had luck finding what I am looking for specifically yet (I’m new to discord and am not entirely sure how to navigate) I've found it for first edition but would prefer 2nd edition/frosthaven's format!

Title. We are on the 15th scenario, lvl 7, having had a quite successful campaign, so no complaints there.

But I'm starting to feel a bit underwhelmed with my axe throwing friend. Damage doesn't feel as good as it did, the xp gain is quite bad compared to most other players, to the point where I'm now ~20xp points behind the demo and red guard, and the breach only grows.

On the first scenarios my role was quite clear and it was well executed. Excellent damage spread, great single target nukes, I quickly understood the importance of pairing throwing range with adecuate movement to retrieve my favorite, etc.

Lately, with the monsters growing in power (and specially health) the weight of the favorite feels like it has been going down (and I've been using the new favorite for its bottom mostly), and comparing myself with my demo and red guard - they are doing huge damage, with great mobility, resilience and getting a ton of xp. Each scenario I end up. ~5xp points or more behind them, making the breach seemingly bigger each time.

I grabbed cards to get some more utility, sniping targets on their movement and using stun hammer is fun and all, but I feel underpowered, and a bit "flat".

Whats the consensus on the class? Any tips to improve for the later scenarios?

If a player has a card played during his turn that grants disadvantage on all attacks targeting him and ends his movement adjacent to a monster that has a ranged attack, what would the monster do with it's move ability for a

1. Single Target Attack

2. Multi Target Attack.

Wanted to get the 1.0 edition, but then I noticed the price of the game and that if I wanted to play with friends, I would have to pay SO MUCH MONEY.

Maybe regional pricing (I am Polish) is hitting hard, but comparing the games to other digital releases or even tabletop sim, it just doesn't seem that worth it.

Most people won't even finish the full game, so not only you have to spend a lot of money, but also your friends just must not like the game and can't refund it because well... each scenario takes a long while.

I understand that this is a GIANT game and pricing it as low as base root digital would be completely insane, but this high of a price must be some kind of error? I also hear that there are still desync issues and crashes, which with such a high price of entry, I would be fuming if the game was not working.

I am not a economics nerd, more of a math person combined with artistic flare and a love for TTRPGS and board games. I love both JoTL and Gloomhaven on TTS, so this seems like... such a big shock for me. I hope I am in the wrong and this is actually not that high of a price point for others.

The lvl.7 card "Mass Extinction" says:

"Attack 4 Target 1 enemy at any Range that has Plague"

"Whenever this ability kills an enemy, gain 1 XP and add +2 Attack, +1 Target".

My question is: does the add Target apply for all monsters or just for those who have a Plague token.

My ruling is that it extra targets monsters with Plague since it is a single ability and the extra text refers and is bound to the specifications of the actual 1st attack.

Just got notification that Pub Crawlers is shipping. I had almost forgot that I ordered it.

As far as I can see, Scenario 3 allows you to begin either Scenario 4 and Scenario 5, and if you complete Scenario 4, you can begin either Scenario 6 or 7.

Hence, I see no possibility of Scenario being a “locked” scenario in this sequence.

Am I missing something?

I played The Lion’s Jaws in Spanish with my partner and I’d like to give Gloomhaven a try, but the language might be an issue. I know that the second edition fixes many of the problems in the original, and I’m not sure whether to wait a bit longer or buy the original.

Does anyone know when it’ll be released in Spanish?

Hi, i have some unclear things with Soultether cards.

1. My thorn shooter summon has no attack, but applies poison to an enemy. If the closest monster already has poison, does the summon looking for another focus? Also if i grant an attack action to it, does it attack with 0, or not at all?

2. Some abilities grant move and attack, no line between the 2 actions, i can choose the order right?

3. Primal fusion (5) says summons gain +1 on attack, while Fire is up. Interving apparation (2) uses fire to attack more target. Do the +1's apply, or not, because i already used the fire for the attack?

If an attack says 'Perform the attack(s) as if you were occupying a hex with a shadow.' (i.e. Lingering Rot), is it mandatory that the attacks come from a shadow?

Are you able to perform the attacks from your own hex?

~15 scenarios in to Gloomhaven 2nd ed; love it. Playing 4-handed with a group of 40s(ish) blokes and my 16yo. Wondering whether it is worth getting JOTL for after that is finished (or just for sneaky 2-handed between-session play with just my 16yo), or is it going to feel too brief / too hand-holding for initial scenarios / confusing with 1e-based rules?

If I purchase FH1.0 will I be able to invite friends to the campaign or does each player need to buy their own copy?

Me and 2 friends played up to mission 5 this weekend, and after discussing with another friend, he wants to join too. We wanted to replay the first 5 missions with him, but didnt want to lose the progress we made, is there a way to handle that?

Im thinking of maintaining gold, items, xp and advantages, but not allowing the collected treasures to be collected again. Maybe we should reset the decks at least. Should we do some type of balancing with the gold? Maybe older players dont get 2 gold per collected coin, but get 1 gold instead until we reach mission 6. Also the older players would not get the end of mission rewards again, only the new player.

I was about to complete one of those money related personal quests when we got a city event where we had to choose to pay some money or not pay some money. Another character was retiring and I had like 33 more than I needed so we chose to pay the money.

Imagine my shock when I lost half my gold or 99 pieces to be exact

I think that physically hurt. I was shocked. Seems I won’t be retiring for a while after all.

Anyone ever lose more than that?

I’m 99 percent sure this is right but just wanted to check. It’s not a targeted ability so it doesn’t matter if you can see the loot token or not.

Same for direct damage (assuming some direct damage happens far enough away to not be within line of sight). Right?

How do you do iT with absent Players regarding exp and gold?

The group didnt give the exp from a Main Quest to an absent Player. But the absent Player lost Gold from a town Quest in the Same Session.

Sounds weird for me.

Wife and I can NEVER get our boys to play all the awesome board games we have. One of them is really loving Dungeon Crawler Carl, so I sold him on the crawling and leveling aspect of JotL.

He’s really enjoying it and is now asking about buying Gloomhaven for when we blow through the JotL scenarios.

I can find the 1st Edition for around $70 on marketplace type sites (usually unpunched or just like 1 or 2 scenarios played), where as the 2nd edition is hard to find for any sort of discount.

Is it really worth the extra $100-$125 to upgrade? We can/would splurge if it truly improves the experience. Our son can be impatient, so if it’s a lot less fiddly and administrative that would certainly be a major positive…but that’s a bit of a significant jump.
