Cernunnos

So in a lot of Indo-European traditions, -no-/-na are markers of divine names -- Epona, Neptunus, etc. I know there's some debate about the "Cern-" part, but I think we can see the -no- part there. But there's more going on. It seems like there's an extra syllable there. I can see Cernos according to the pattern, But where did the -unn- come from?

No ad hominem attacks. Attack the idea, not the person directly. Those who continually break this rule will be banned.

No politics or politicking. Unless it is somehow related to Gaulish Polytheism, this subreddit is not the space for modern political ideology. If you feel the need to talk about immigration or the Folkish/Universalist dichotomy, you will be warned and banned.
Reputation and associations matter. If you are seen in another subreddit or in your post history spouting rhetoric in violation of our rules, you will be removed. If you have a poor reputation re: the rules, or the associations you keep, you may be removed.
Do not block moderators. If you block us, we can't see what you're doing and therefore can't do our job. You will be asked to unblock, and if you refuse, you will be removed.
