The goal is simple: Help fellow Garmin users earn the rare Zombie Badge while meeting other members of the community and having some fun along the way.
What is the Zombie Badge?
The Zombie Badge is one of Garmin Connect's most unique and sought-after badges.
Unlike most badges, it spreads from user to user. To earn it, you must complete a user-created Garmin Connect challenge with someone who already has the Zombie Badge. Once completed, you'll earn the badge and be able to spread the infection to others.
How Do I Participate?
There are two easy ways to get involved:
Option 1: Join the Officialr/GarminGarmin Connect Group
I follow a strict 1900-calorie diet since 6 months. Yesterday was the biggest cheat day since last month. My body didn’t know what to do with all that sushi. Sleep score in the gutter 🤣
So I started running probably 5 weeks ago 5-6 times per week. Once I hit my first 5k I just made that my mandatory minimum. About 2 weeks ago I did my first 10k. My legs felt like jello during all these weeks and I worried about falling even if I took 2 days off. But today my legs were finally 100%. Usually I am on a track but this was a treadmill which made it easy to slow my pace. Zone 2 the entire 10 miles. I never imagined I would accomplish this milestone. Never saw a treadmill with puddles of sweat before. I could have easily kept going but I was kinda embarrassed that even my shirt was dripping all over the place 😂

Curious to know: what’s your current VO2 Max, and how old are you? 💪
New features of the nutrition app are pretty good. You can log using voice now and it'll custom create the food for you or find out based on keyword, amount, brand. The voice feature works well. There are other customization features that are welcome as opposed to before where it was difficult to navigate. You can now do it without a scheduled time but simply by meals which is much easier for me. I'm going to keep using it now with the new features. The only thing I'm still confused about is the recommendation of my macronutrients for daily life... Like where are these numbers coming from? And where can I research more about this. It seems like I'm getting 50% of my daily recommended by garmin macro nutrients but not loosing weight and.
I would like to get suggestions on what i should buy as my first garmin watch. A little bit about me, i train 5-6 days a week with indoor cardio one a week. Lots of walks during the day, and cycling once a month.
I come from apple watches and now whoop (still have 3 months of subscription).
Which watch would you recommend? Do you suggest i also buy HRM 200 or 600? If so, which one?
I’ve been a loyal Garmin Forerunner user for the last ~10 years but not sure I can continue if they do not fix the absolute nonsense that is Garmin Connect. Nearly every day I have to perform a seance just to get my watch to connect to the app. about half the time, that doesn’t even work. That’s it. rant over. (for now)
I do play golf occasionally but never really considered buying a dedicated golf watch... until now.
If your criteria is 43mm, light, multiband GPS, LED flashlight, sapphire glass... the new Approach S72 43mm probably should be on your shortlist, right? It's significantly cheaper than the 43mm Fenix 9.
Fenix 7S Pro is old, as is Epix Pro G2 42mm (sadly).
What does that leave? Fenix 8 43mm? S72 is still a little cheaper. What does the Fenix 8 do that the S72 doesn't?
Thoughts?
EDIT: did some more research, it seems the differences are mainly around diving, rowing and the leak proof inductive buttons in the Fenix.
I have an Echomap UHd 73Vs screen and just bought a LVs 34 live scope. I want to be able to HDMI to a TV. My screen doesn’t have a way to do that. Is there an adapter for this? Don’t want to have to get the bigger screen. TIA
Will Garmin eventually recalibrate its baselines as a result of changes in, say, my cardiac activity due to changes in meds following an ablation? Thanks. I would post more details but the automod wouldn’t let me.
Hey, I want to get my First Garmin for my Birthday. Im a 2-3 times per week runner and want to spend 300-400€. For the moment im mostly into the 265 the watch would be more than enough probably too much my only concern about it is the missing Future Upgrades. Is it big difference and it’s better to get a 170/570 or another Watch or is it more like fomo and it wont be a big difference? Would appreciate ur help very much as I’m overwhelmed.
Greetings
I'm considering upgrading my MARQ Aviator Gen 2 to Gen 3, mainly for the improved sensors and ECG.
But the leather strap is a dealbreaker. I run daily in 35°C heat and sweat like crazy.
Does anyone know if the Gen 2 titanium bracelet will fit the Gen 3? I understand Garmin dropped metal bracelets due to LTE/satellite interference, but would it work fine with those features disabled? Could the metal bracelet still affect GPS reception?
I'd hate to give up the titanium bracelet just to get better sensors.
Was completely unplanned. Just did my normal Run/Walk/Run Garmin Coach workout and felt good and like I could just keep going so I did. Ran 30 out of those 45 minutes and broke all my records! Got fastest mile, fastest km, longest run. I’m 30, never exercised much at all in my life and always completely despised running. Got a Garmin and 6 weeks into my 12 week program to run 5km I’ve done it! Not very fast and my avg hr was higher than normal but my max hr was lower, it was consistent and it was faster than my normal runs and I have never run this far in my life. My first run was only 1km and it was soo hard. This was actually fun! I’m so proud!! Getting a Garmin and following Coach Jeff has honestly changed my life!
I don't take fitness age too seriously, don't worry. However, I am genuinely wondering what the logic is behind this. I know Garmin is a bit too obsessed with your age, but still.
I didn't update my weight for a while. Since I have been hitting the gym well and restarted creatine after a long holiday, I quickly gained a couple of kilos, from 92 to 97. When I entered this weight, my fitness age immediately jumped up 0,5 or even 1 year. I really don't get the logic behind this, my VO2 Max has stayed the same. Surely it is only impressive if your heart/body is able to achieve the same training metrics and results at a slightly higher weight?
Does anybody know the reasoning behind this? Am I wrong for thinking like this?
I have an instinct 2x solar and it used to record my sleep accurately. But now it seems to not register any data for a good chunk of each night. Examples in the picture below. Any thoughts on why it's not registering?? I've had the watch for over a year now
Hi, recently lost my Garmin Forerunner 265 in a field when out at work and have accepted it’s gone lol. Looking to get another Garmin as I’m really missing it. Quite fancy getting an upgrade so I feel as if I’m not taking a step backwards. Only really use the sleep score, training readiness, steps and calorie features and use it for running, weights, rugby and the odd hike Budget of around £400 tops for one but don’t mind getting a decent second hand one on eBay. Just wondering what yous would all recommend because there’s so many options. Also thought I’d note that I have a fairly physical job so needs to be somewhat rugged. Cheers
I’ve owned my FR 265 for 1.5 years now and it’s been great…until recently. Usually, when weight training at the gym, I start the strength activity then leave it alone until I end the session. For the past 2 weeks or so, the watch is ending sets and starting rest periods entirely on its own. If it was accurate, that would be great, but it’s beyond wrong and as you can imagine that’s screwing up all my data.
For certain activities, such as carrying a sandbag against the chest or martial arts or fencing, it is not ideal to have the module on the front of the chest.
I realize that some of the running dynamics count on front placement, but they are not relevant for these applications. Only the heart rate matters.
Does anyone have experience using the HRMs with the module not in the front?
First of all sorry for the probably wonky terms, I don't use Garmin in English and these are literal translations from my native language.
I've been wondering about the classification of primary benefit for exercises according to Garmin. I mostly use the watch for running for context, but I'm not an experienced runner by any means. I'm asking mostly out of curiosity.
For example, it has 3 groupings for primary benefit (low aerobic: basic fitness, recovery; high aerobic: Vo2 max, threshold, tempo; anaerobic: speed, anaerobic capacity). I can understand the differences between the groups, and even within the group in the low aerobic category, and I understand the terms themselves. But how does it determine whether your main benefit is speed or anaerobic capacity? Or whether it's tempo, threshold or Vo2 max?
Then there's just benefit. Like what is the difference between maintaining fitness/maintaining health? The latter even says you maintain your health by maintaining your aerobic fitness. Today I just got "efficient" as benefit...
I just got it after today's intervals session, can't express how much I am happy and proud about it. And it came just in time I was kinda losing passion but this is just made everything possible and applicable, I am truly glad :)
Hi, i am using my awesome feñix 9 pro to consume the data from my pm5 monitor (broadcast via ant protocol) which is the device that processes and is able to transmit the data from my concept2 ergometer.
I can use the pm5 with and without the concept2 phone app "ergdata", but with the app (coupled via bluetooth) I have 2 features I like:
- upload the data to the concept2 mothership platform, where all rowing stats for that platform can be compared
- it is easy to program workouts, especially intervals like 8x500, pyramids, different work and rest times etc.
I now program an intercal training via the connected phone app, that program is sent to the pm5 and i can then start the workout. On my fenix i also start the workout to record it on the garmin platform, let it count down (new feature!) from 5 and i goooooo!!!!!
I can integrate with the garmin platform from concept2, but for me it is about thehypothetical situation where i would only record to the garmin platform with my watch, and the lack if support for thise intervals.
The session is recorded as 1 continuous session and not as an interval with seperate 'sets' with a rest period in between.
There also seems to be a bug where, when the interval stops and the rest begins, garmin thinks the same force/power is applied as was measured in the last steoke of the interval.
This garbles the data, since i now only have 1 average split time, an average heartrate, 1 max heartrate, etc instead of heartrate and max HR, and seperate split time for set 1, 2 and 3 etc and no meters rowed and no HR stats in the rest between intervals. It would also be great if this is reflected not only in the post workout stats, but could actually be used on the watch, which would also benefit water rowing as the can pogram the watch for interval training.
I would really like garmin to support this, so i get accurate stats per interval/set, supporting graphs etc.
Questions:
- What are your thoughts about this?
- how can i ask garmin for this? because it would benefit rowers and would be good for the rowing system within garmin
- does the concept2 ant broadcast support this? If this is not sent via the ant protocol, the watch cannot use it, but might be able to postprocess it.
I am interested in hearing from you and if Garmin can adopt this somehow.
