A lot of showcase posts these days are getting the "slop" label in the comments.
Sometimes it's AI. Sometimes it's UE. Sometimes it's mythology.
It's been previously mentioned that this community is not interested in how people make their games, which includes using AI or UE. And if it wasn't understood by default for developers, it probably deserves explicit mention: We are not interested in favoring genres either.
As developers, it is our duty to set the bar not just in quality, but also in feedback to fellow creators. Labelling things as "slop" without contributing anything constructive is not helping anyone.
If it's a low-effort AI post, instead of just saying "AI slop", it is more meaningful to mention that the game appears bland and generic.
If it's a UE asset-flip, mention that the gameplay is more important than the art for serious projects.
If it's a mythology game, please assess the game on its own merits instead of dismissing it outright.
To be clear, this is not an invitation to post low-quality content. But at the same time, writing rude comments is just as much against the community rules. So please, be mindful of what you post, because there is an actual human being on the other side of the screen.
Cheers.

Hey, quick update to the rules:
This subreddit is neither pro nor anti AI. That means, if your post uses AI, it will not be removed. However, quality controls still apply. If it's an extremely low effort post, AI or not, it will be removed.
And more often than not, bad quality posts will be downvoted anyway, so please keep that part in mind.
As for the vocal anti-AI folks here: it is a technology that is here to stay. If nothing else, programmers will use AI to generate code snippets from time to time. I cannot and will not police tool-use that aids game development. It is up to you if you want to use it in your games or not, but this community is not interested in telling people how to make their games.
EDIT: Criticism is accepted. But name calling and personal insults will be removed.

Hi everyone!
I've just made a tool called BrushMix 3D, which lets you paint PBR materials on 3D models inside Unity and bake them into textures. It's now live on Fab!
Here's what you can do with it:
● Layer blending: mix up to 4 material layers with height-based blending
● Normal & detail stamps: easily add surface height and normal details (dents, domes, rivets, screws) with up to 4 stamp slots
● Stamp stitching: stamps follow your stroke path smoothly
● Edge wear & scratches: procedural wear along model edges
● Dirt & dust generator
● Alpha stencil / decal painting
● Bake clean, production-ready PBR textures (Albedo, Normal, Metallic & Smoothness) for URP and HDRP
If anyone wants to check out the details or give it a try, it's live on Fab
here: https://www.fab.com/listings/0c7e9e16-9b57-4433-9788-68b6de4de678
Thanks a lot for reading and checking it out!

Hey everyone!
First of all, thank you for the amazing responses and feedback on my last gameplay video! I got some really useful suggestions, and I've been working on improving the game based on them.
Since my last post, I've added bullet spread, bullet tracers, and a boss battle!
One thing I wanted to try with the boss was to avoid making it a traditional bullet sponge that just stands there soaking up damage. Instead, I wanted players to figure out ways to take it down rather than simply unloading magazines into it.
This is just the first boss, and I have plenty more ideas for different bosses and mechanics I'd love to experiment with.
One of the most fun parts of this update was finding free animations and mixing them together to get the results I wanted. It's surprisingly satisfying when you manage to combine different animations and make them work together to create something that fits your vision.
I'm developing this game solo as part of my indie project, Project Aftermidnight, and there's still a lot to improve. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This is the fastest drone in my game, max speed of 90 km/h
Using such a fast drone in an intense obstacle course?
Not a good idea unless...... you are really good!

Hey everyone
I'm a developer from Ahmedabad who enjoys working with both Unity and Web 3D
I work on game development, AR VR experiences and interactive 3D applications. I've also been building a personal project called Furnisia which lets people explore furniture in 3D and experience it through AR and VR
I find it interesting how 3D technology can be used beyond games and I'm always curious to see what other developers are creating
I'm also planning to attend IGDC in Chennai on October 28 so it would be great to connect with fellow developers who are going
What kind of projects are you guys working on these days?

Hey everyone!
If you're a Formula 1 fan like me, this one's for you. I'm building Box Box, a free-to-play online multiplayer racing game that runs right in your browser. No download, no account, just open the link and drive.
It's an early playtest right now: one car and one track, Valmora, a circuit set in wooded hills. Multiplayer comes next. First I want the driving to feel right on a keyboard.
It tries to feel like real F1-style driving, so braking points matter. Brake too late and you'll miss the corner. Brake hard in a straight line before the turn, then steer in. Tap A/D for small corrections and hold them for a full turn, especially under braking.
Controls: it needs a keyboard.
- W or ↑ to accelerate, S or ↓ to brake, A/D or ←/→ to steer
- Space to brake
- C changes the camera: chase, T-cam or cockpit
- X switches between Assists and Expert mode
- R resets the car, Esc pauses
My best lap in Expert mode is now 1:38.312. Let's see who from here can beat it 😄
It's built with TypeScript and three.js, and hosted for free on Cloudflare Pages. Happy to talk about how any of it works.
After a few laps, press Esc → Send feedback. It's a short form, and every answer helps decide what I fix next.
🎮 Play here: https://box-box-22t.pages.dev
Thanks for trying it!

Same game. Two completely different worlds. 🎮
What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen while making your game let me know in comments? 😂👇

The clues were there. The atmosphere felt off. And the more we revealed, the worse it got.
Here's a look at how we built the tension leading up to a monster reveal in Cult Trials: Incarnation, our upcoming psychological survival horror game from VODOD GAMES. 🩸
Swipe through all six frames and tell us honestly…
💀 **Would you keep exploring, or would you run?**
If dark sci-fi worlds, disturbing creatures, and indie horror games are your thing, wishlist Cult Trials: Incarnation on Steam.

Hi everyone! I’m working on Cab Hero, a driving game where you pick up passengers, take them to their destinations, earn fares and explore streets built from real map data.
You can drive a cab or an auto-rickshaw, with fuel stops, delivery missions and more places to explore as you progress. The real-world setting is a big part of the idea: being able to take a familiar road and turn it into a little driving adventure. Currently supports any streets across India, UAE, and Singapore. To fill up your fuel tank, have to drive to nearest petrol pumps in-game. There are some missions coded inside the game now, more to come. Further details can be found here - https://cabhero.purplecore.in, and here - https://www.reddit.com/r/cabhero/
Here’s the latest gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G3k5c4tNLw
It’s coming soon to iOS and Android. I wanted to introduce it here and share what I’ve been working on. Happy to answer questions about the gameplay or how the real-world map system works.
For transparency, I’ve used AI tools for coding, debugging and testing, some terrain and landmark textures, and preparation of promotional material. The larger engineering around map caching, map-to-3d construction, backend map server, routing engine etc, and the game-play logic are hand-built. The gameplay footage is recorded from the game.

Hi everyone, I'm Huy, a student at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (Vietnam). My team of 3 is building a tool for a student startup competition: an agent that plays a 2D game by itself, detects bugs (e.g. clipping through walls, missing UI), and records its inputs so a developer can replay the exact bug later.
Before building further, we want to check whether this is a real problem for people who actually make games. I'd really appreciate your answers to these:
Not selling anything, no ads. I'm happy to share an anonymized summary of the results here afterwards. If you'd rather answer in the comments or DM, that works too.
(Mods: if this kind of post isn't allowed here, please let me know and I'll remove it.)
