BEST RESTAURANTS IN GAINESVILLE FL
top best restaurants in gainesville fl, i literally spend my days off eating out, I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT GIVE ME A CHANCE
Nopal(mexican): But like mexican modern? Hidden gem idk why they would open THAT GOOD OF A RESTAURANT in the middle of nowhere but go and order the Scampi omfg and they have a corn creme brûlée omfg
Wahaha: Amazing place too, i always get the Pad see ew with beef OMFG so good, i need to expand on their menu but very worthy of your money to visit
RED RICE KITCHEN (asian fusion i think): THE BEST PLACE, i’ve tried almost the whole menu and they hit every single time, it’s crazy. The pho, curry, soups, noddles i literally cant get over it it’s almost like they put drugs on their foos bc i cant stop eating it and loving it (they dont put drugs in their foos just in case just good asf) Very worthy of your money, get the pho it’s like a warm hug
La tienda(mexican classic): For birria tacos yes this place, i dont love other types of tacos here bc they’re not cooked on the spot, the birria tho they are so they come out fresh just made, perfect ratio of cheese, beef and spice good asf
Chellys (veenzuelan): im venezuelan, and i can say this place is THE BEST VENEZUELAN PLACE IN GAINESVILLE, this place brings me back home so if you really want classic and genuine venezuelan food visit this place, dont get tricked into going to other “fancy looking restaurants” chellys is a food truck and its so mf worth it. art.
cuban bakery: good asf cuban sandwiches and good asf coffee made by an actual cuban lady, they have a bunch of desserts and breakfast options, idk why it’s empty everytime i go it’s really good
Sushi restaurants: This is a delicate topic for me, and controversial for the sushi lovers, i can only talk in my experience so pls no offense
7.1 Koto: simple, good asf and fast
7.2 Sushi sake: it’s good, expensive and nice ambiance, try the stake tartare
7.3 mattari: Very cute in the inside and good foodJamexican food truck: If you find them somewhere and they’re open just drop everything you’re doing and go get the curry chicken birria tacos. they have a small menu, i used to go every week in 2024 idk what happened that they closed for so long and i just saw them by downtown by the little plaza where all the food trucks park. ITS REALLY GOOD GO TRY IT
i have some more but this is my top that i would fight for it and my usuals

Nature & Wildlife Any outdoorsmen looking for a side hustle?
I’m in my late 20s and just trying to learn to fish (struggling with tying knots still, rig setup, and targeting specific fish) I’d also like to learn to hunt in the next few months.
I’m looking for someone with some flexible availability who would be down to teach a complete beginner from scratch. Willing to work out a fair pay rate for “tutoring”

Best Place to Donate for $
I'm in between jobs, and I figured donating plasma/platelets (something I'm accustomed to with double red donations) would be a good way to have some extra cash for the month. I see there's a handful of options and wanted to hear your experiences, thank you!

Yoga studios?
I’m looking to join a yoga studio for reference I am as beginner as a beginner can be and I am in my late 20s so I’m not looking for an “instagrammy” place if that makes sense. Just looking for a place I can be real at and really just focus on practicing yoga. Appreciate any suggestions.

Looking for recommendations Public School Gainesville
It is just me or sometimes, it feels like the public school system waits until a child is already struggling significantly before making the situation clear to the family. Parents are told to wait and see, and then suddenly they're facing the possibility of third-grade retention or discovering that their child is far behind academically. How can families advocate effectively for their children if they don't know there's a problem until it's almost too late? Parents shouldn't have to wait for a report card or a retention warning to find out their child needs help.

Jobs & Careers Any businesses need help running their social media pages or repurposing footage into short-form posts?
I’m a content creator based in Ocala but I spend a lot of time in Gainesville. Right now, I’m just trying to make some extra money and doing deliveries isn’t cutting it anymore. I have 2.2K+ subscribers and 400K views across the world on YouTube, and grew my Instagram from 30 to 2,100 followers (posting in English AND Spanish) in 5 months. I specialize in short-and-long form content and social media management. My academic background is in history and international politics, however, and that is what my content focuses on.
If any local businesses need Reels made for their IG pages and/or short-form content for social media accounts, please feel free to reach out! I can also add Spanish subtitles to Reels and posts. I can write articles as well!
Can provide portfolio upon request and discuss rates in DMs.

Photo ticket enforcement at 98th street school zone, Insulting considering the condition of 98th st.
It a little bit insulting with the condition of the road, to be putting up photo enforcement at the 98 street school zone don't you think?
In addition to that they dont seem to be changing the street markings to be congruent with each other or the flashing signs. The street marker lines are offset a block earlier than the flashing lights. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHERE THE ZONE STARTS AND ENDS WITH CONFLICTING DMV UNIFORM TRAFFIC MARKERS!???.
Additionally, there is an obvious blind spot to the Flashing school zone sign on 23rd when you are turning left onto 98th street southbound if a car is next to you in the second lane.
All of this has clearly not passed any kind of FDOT engineering sign off on Florida's Uniform Traffic Code, and they are going to get a lot of pissed off drivers with unenforceable complaints.
I'm upset just looking at it.
