Serious How to host better events
Long story short I go to a small mid west school and my frat is lowkey bouse (using that term loosely since it’s such a small school the whole touse/bouse concept isn’t really a factor.) but nonetheless we hosted our second social the other day and it was fun, a lot of the girls seemed to be having fun but after about an hour and a half most of them had already left. What kind of stuff can me and my pledge class do to improve our socials, all my frat had out was 3 drinking games and music, but as a pledge it was my first social experience so I’m not sure were other frats have at their socials to make it a cool place to be.

did you guys provide alcohol?
how many people were there?
was the society supposed to be a party or something else?
need to know these things

We did have alc, shit ton of beer, jungle juice, etc. it was a “social” basically a party but just our frat and another sorority. There are maybe 20 ish members in our frat but not everyone was there, and maybe 30 girls from sorority. I don’t think the people are the problem since our actives have often been described as kind/sweet.

well that’s a mixer
and poor brother attendance is definitely an issue, make no mistake. also for a social with a sorority if it isn’t going to be a chill vibe, sometimes it helps to have another fraternity and another sorority or two. because a few drinking games for 10 brothers and 20 women is just kinda not it. girls probably just go there to pregame and leave.
tbh you need more brother attendance first and foremost

It doesn't look good if the ladies outnumber the bros by a factor of 1.5!

well it should be that they outnumber cuz sororities are just bigger but if you have a small chapter you need high involvement

Try to have a fun theme and have the new guys put on a show. We did a karaoke mixer the other day and had the new guys do a choreographed singing and dance routine to bye bye bye. It was a big hit. We also make sure the house is as clean as possible
