Brokers vantage withdraw glitch, has anyone else had this?

just to start off, i have made withdraws/deposits frequently to this same method with no issues.

today when i tried to withdraw it said my withdraw was “reverted” after 5 mins, i received the full amount no problem so i tried again but this time it reverted only gave me back around 50%…

tried to withdraw a lower amount and it went through no issues…? the withdraw was an initial deposit so it would have came back to my bank as a refund.

after these failed attempts the available refund withdraw amount is now zero (i need to use a different payment method, although it should still have most available for refund) and i’m out of pocket a good chunk of money.

support says they will have it sorted out soon but theres a lot of things online saying they can be sketchy, just looking for people who have experienced this and if it got resolved to ease my mind😂

OTHER/META Forex signals are worse than gambling.

I entered an oil sell trade on October 13 based on a signal from a trading channel. The stop loss was open-ended, so the price moved more than $7 against me. I made $3 in profit today, but the channel didn't even tell me to close the trade, so I closed it myself. Oil has now reached $96. I can't imagine how much I would have lost if I hadn't closed the trade myself.

Psychology Anyone else struggle to call it a day when they haven’t taken a trade?

You sit down, mark your levels, and wait. A few hours pass and nothing really fits. But leaving without taking a trade feels weird, like you’ve spent all that time for nothing. Suddenly a setup you would’ve ignored earlier starts looking good enough.

I think that’s an easy thing to miss about patience. You can wait for hours and still force a trade at the end because you want something to show for it. The time you’ve already spent watching doesn’t make that entry any better.

What’s harder for you: finishing the day with no trades, or stopping after a loss?

Strategy Development Do order blocks even exist on the 5m chart?

I like the order block retest strategy. There are a lot of trading opportunities on the 5m chart for this but is this just chance?

I know order blocks work better on higher time frames. But can they work just as well on lower time frames too?

Do they even exist on say a five minute chart?

Looking for a trade partner in Calgary

Hi everyone, I'm looking for partner in Calgary who is interested in the trading the market together.

I'm based in the NE part of the city and thought it would be great to meet up at a public place like a library or coffee shop. We could start with one day a week to share ideas, practice together, and see how it goes. We will be focusing on analyzing charts, discussing trading strategies and placing trades. We will be trading forex, gold, and indices. Let me know, if you're interested!

OTHER/META Does anyone here trade in the United States?

I keep hearing that a lot of US traders have switched to futures because of all the us regulations, but I really want to trade forex and I have been paper trading forex for a bit now. I mainly swing trade most of the time. I want to know if I’m going to be one of the few people in the US trading forex lol

OTHER/META Is trading dying?

I see less and less trading posts on social media, same with prop firm discord servers chat have way less messages and trading setups, even my entourage almost all of them stoped talking about trading and shifted to ai shit and e-commerce, i remember the trading hype 2 or 3 years ago when almost everyone tried trading, is it my algorithm showing me less or is everyone noticing the same thing, and if people are quiting is it because of bad market condition because of trump and all what happening.

Platforms & Tools The real cost of running EAs on Forex: €2,500 over 4 years, and the lesson that finally made me stop buying them

Last week I asked in another sub how you even tell a genuine edge from an overfit curve before paying for it. This is the other half of that question: what it actually cost me to keep finding out the hard way.

Rough breakdown of what I paid over 4 years trying to make bought EAs work, mostly on Forex pairs:

- Off-the-shelf platforms (Galileo FX and similar): €800 over 12 months

- EAs from the MQL5 store: 5 of them at €150-300 each, €1,100

- VPS rental: €15-20/month for about 36 months, €650

Call it €2,500 out of pocket. Net result on all of it: a loss. Won't put a number on it, but enough that I stopped buying other people's EAs for good.

No single failure did it. What got to me was that the whole thing is set up so you can't evaluate anything until you've already paid. Most of it has no trial at all, you get screenshots and no refund. The couple that did let me run a demo first looked fine for a few weeks, which told me nothing. So you pay €100-300 to find out an EA doesn't fit your broker's spread or execution, and by the time you know, the money's gone.

So I stopped buying and started building my own. Nothing fancy, just something I could actually read and test before trusting it with real money.

Two things I'm curious about. What's the most you've paid for a single EA, and how did it go? And has anyone found a seller that lets you properly demo before paying, or is screenshots-and-trust just the norm?

Pushback welcome, especially from anyone who's been through the same cycle

Psychology What you find difficult about trading?

For me, it’s not about the setup. It’s everything that comes after it: execution, timing, psychology, trade management, and knowing when to exit.

The setup gets you into the trade. Everything else determines how well you trade it.

What’s your take?

Strategy Development 6 London opens on gold 5m: first 30 minute ranges from $10.45 to $25.05

I wanted a clean answer to a quieter session question than the usual US print studies: when London opens at 8:00, how wide is the first 30 minutes on gold, and does the open itself do most of the damage?

Method: I loaded six recent London opens on XAUUSD 5m and stepped from the 8:00 candle through 8:25 (UTC). I measured the high minus low across those six candles, plus the net move from the 8:00 open to the 8:25 close. Same market, same window, same timeframe. No US data prints inside this window. No trades in this post, just the tape.

Results (range = high minus low over the first 30 minutes, net = close of 8:25 minus open of 8:00):

27 Jan 2026: range $12.88, net -$8.34 (pre 7:55 close $5085.73) 10 Feb 2026: range $12.32, net +$1.88 (pre $5033.77) 24 Feb 2026: range $14.61, net -$8.89 (pre $5179.12) 3 Mar 2026: range $25.05, net -$15.69 (pre $5327.44) 10 Mar 2026: range $10.45, net +$3.18 (pre $5180.85) 17 Mar 2026: range $10.68, net -$0.54 (pre $5020.95)

Median range about $12.60. Average about $14.33. Four of six closed lower after 30 minutes, two closed higher. Five of the six mornings sat between $10.45 and $14.61. 3 Mar 2026 was the outlier at $25.05 with a -$15.69 net.

What surprised me: London open is often talked about as the liquidity turn that should move gold. On these six mornings the room was usually a $10 to $15 box, not a CPI style blowout. 3 Mar still carved $25.05 and closed -$15.69, so a rule that says "London is always calm sizing" would have been fine five times and wrong once in a row of six.

Second surprise: the first 5m candle dominated the window range on only two of six mornings (10 Feb and 10 Mar). On the other four, later bars inside the half hour still widened the range after 8:00. Waiting for "the open to settle" still meant the move could keep building through 8:25, even when the first bar looked ordinary.

What I would write into a practice plan from this set: keep the measurement fixed (8:00 to 8:30 London, range and net on 5m), and stop letting the session name set your risk before the first half hour does. Six is not enough for an edge. It is enough to kill the story that London open on gold is always a quiet handoff from Asia.

Risk Management How I stopped blowing small accounts - I built a lot size calculator that includes spread

I built a simple tool that fixes this: - You enter balance, risk %, stop loss, AND spread - It gives you exact lot size, margin, pip value

No signup, no ads. I use it daily for my 1% rule.

If anyone wants to test it, I can share link in comments - don't want to break promo rules.

Feedback welcome - what else should I add for small accounts?

OTHER/META Can a retail trader invest in a market maker or liquidity provider?

If 95% of traders lose money in Forex trading, then it means the market maker is making money 95% of the time. Is there a way to put my money as the counterparty instead?

I make decent money working blue collar. But it’s interfering severely with my trading. I can’t even request my payout because I’m stuck at work for frikin 16 hours against my will. This is just delaying me receiving the funds and the new account. I don’t hate my job because I’ve worked my way up to a sweet position but they literally treat us like there is no life outside of here and it’s eating me alive.

Charts and Setups USDCAD buy limit at 1.4151 waiting for a pullback

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Looking to buy USDCAD, but I’m not in yet. Limit order is sitting at 1.4151. After this move up, I’d rather wait for a pullback than buy here.

I’m using monthly amplitude to plan the levels. Looking at 35 completed months over the last 3 years, the median downside move from the monthly open puts us around 1.4151. That’s my entry. Stop at 1.4050, just below the 75th percentile downside level.

On the upside, the same data gives me three levels:

1.4368 — taking half off

1.4462 — another quarter

1.4549 — the rest

Those are the P50, P75 and P90 upside excursions, measured from October’s opening baseline, not from my entry.

Non-commercial positioning is also moving in the direction I want. Net exposure went from about 54.7k to 80.2k to 90k over the last three reports, expressed on the USDCAD side. That’s short CAD in the underlying futures data.

So that’s the idea: buy a pullback while speculative positioning is building back up in favor of USDCAD. The historical ranges help me place the order and targets; they don’t mean price has to reach them. They’re based on daily closes too, so intraday moves can go further.

101 pips of risk, first partial at 217 pips. If it runs without filling me, so be it.

Anyone else watching USDCAD?
