Seriously, how is this masterpiece still only available on YouTube? It’s been years and I am still waiting for an official streaming release.
Such an incredible track deserves to be on every streaming platform. Anyone else still holding out hope, or have we collectively accepted this?
Hi, I rarely go on Reddit, but here’s the thing: my brother and I have always loved Flume—we really have a deep appreciation for this amazing artist. I’d like to introduce you to this album my brother created. It’s called R(AI)N! Give it a listen—my brother doesn’t know I shared it on Reddit! Whether you like it or not, feel free to leave a comment! Thanks for your time.
Hey guys, big fan of Flume here and I'm lucky enough to live on the exact same street in Northern Beaches as his childhood home where a lot of his debut album was put together. In fact, from the road itself you can see Harley's old bedroom (I know because he's shown the room in interviews). The house was sold about eight years back and I'm almost certain the new owners have no clue that such a legend once resided in their walls, and I was wondering if I should tell them about it if I see them around during the day.
But I was wondering if: they'll know who Flume is, if they'll care, and if they'll find me creepy for going "By the way that bedroom used to be his! Here's some pictures of the room from a news article."
So what do you guys think, will it be "Oh my god that's my bedroom, no way! Can't believe a Grammy winner previously lived in my house!" or will it be "Uh.. okay, thanks. I guess?"
For real though I do love DUMB quite a lot. Flume doesnt seem too afraid to be weird as hell on it and juxtaposed to Emma's soft and fragile voice, it's quite the blend and a sound you can indeed find (iglooghost and Babii collab projects come to mind) but nobody has done it better than Emma and Harley did imo. Hey I love this thing.
I think Getter wanted to go similiar way of production like Flume with album “Visceral” and I LOVE that album. I don’t get why his core fans were so shitty and didn’t support him.
I hope our fandom would never do that to Flume if he wanted to take a new path.
I've been listening to this song for like 2 years. I have no clue how I came across it but someone please tell me I'm overreacting when I say this shit slaps hard asf. 100 monthly listeners and 2 followers on soundcloud, great sound design, beat switches and they sound so natural and confident throughout the song.
Only posting here because I know the Flume gang has very similar taste to me.
Anyway, is it a banger? or am I just nuts. I feel like this level of skill deserves a bit more light
Slugger for me had all the vibes of his self titled and Skin all in one. The first day I heard it I had nostalgia for all the years I'd have been a flume fan.

I've been listening back through Flume's discography at work and Palaces has honestly been a bit of a tough listen. There are a few good songs, but it feels like they're sandwiched between stuff that I just can't get into anymore.
It's his only release that I've found myself feeling at all negative about on a full play through, and I think it was especially jarring after listening to HTIF, which is just perfection from start to finish.
Just here to say I was wrong. I remember when Some Minds was released I was disappointed. I was hoping for a banger like his Tennis Courts remix. I thought it was just was too slow paced and not dancy enough.
I kind of dismissed it and didn’t listen to it much. Now it’s one of my all time favorite Flume tracks. I can’t believe I didn’t like it just because it was different than what I was expecting.
Flume is my all-time favorite artist, and has been since I heard the You & Me remix in 2013. I remember the moment, and how it instantly changed my relationship to music, expanding my horizons and beliefs about what music could be, and more importantly how it could make me feel. I brought this passion to college and introduced my now two best friends, Aaron and Ace, to Flume. It’s hard to overstate the positive affect his music had—and still has—on our friendship.
The shining example of this is the Hi, This is Flume mixtape, which is my favorite album of all-time. I remember showing it to Aaron and Ace, who were initially repulsed by the experimentation, but over time came to love it as much as I did (certain substances may have been involved in this transformation…)
We cherish this because we are the only other two people in each other’s lives who even know the album—let alone love it as much as we all do. It’s something I hold close to my heart, largely because of the affect it had on my close friendships.
In the tenth year of friendship, we are off to Antarctica this December. On this trip we will visit the geographic South Pole, and we are thinking of what we want to bring for pictures. We thought it would be fitting to get a picture with the three of us holding a HTIF vinyl at the South Pole to commemorate our friendship and the album!
We are hoping this post might reach Harley. It would be cool for him to know the role his music played on our lives, and, if he sees it, maybe he will send us a signed version of the vinyl, or anything else to photograph at the south pole? 😁 These men can dream!
Cheers all. I will return with a post after the trip with pictures. Below is a picture of us at Coachella 2016 where we saw Flume together for the first time!
