Can't really find any decent reviews or info about the company and product quality but their cruiser scooters seem quite common. Does anyone have any info about them or personal experience? would love to get a scooter from them but I first must know what I'm getting into and what longevity to expect.

Btw these things need traffic insurance because they are over 25kg and need to have have certain safety equipment components to be legal at public roads, also cant exceed 25kmh, and traffic rules as bicycle.

One thing to be taken under consideration:
"Kevyessä sähköajoneuvossa ei saa olla istuinta, paitsi jos se on itsestään tasapainottuva, tarkoitettu ensisijaisesti maastokäyttöön ja käytettäväksi päällystämättömillä pinnoilla tai tarkoitettu yksinomaan liikuntarajoitteisten käyttöön"

Meaning that Kontio type cruisers do not fall under "light electric vehicles" because of this. And even as the manufacturer themself classified it under light electric vehicles, it is not.

Exact wording by the law is:
"29 § Kevyt sähköajoneuvo

Kevyellä sähköajoneuvolla tarkoitetaan sellaista muuta sähkömoottorilla varustettua ajoneuvoa kuin 28 §:n 1 momentissa tarkoitettua sähköavusteista polkupyörää tai L-luokan ajoneuvojen puiteasetuksessa tarkoitettua L-luokan ajoneuvoa, jonka eteenpäin vievien moottoreiden suurin yhteenlaskettu jatkuva nimellisteho on enintään 1,00 kilowattia ja rakenteellinen nopeus enintään 25 kilometriä tunnissa."

Where there is no mention of the seating, but Traficom is the agency whom interprets the law like described and sets guidelines. If someone would go to court, the court would have to set precedence. I believe there isnt one yet.

Do not. They are pieces of shit, had the misfortune of owning one for a couple years. It's so chinese that i'm surprised the one finnish word "kontio" i could find on the whole damn thing was spelled correctly. I suppose it did work but it was a plasticy shitbox with 3 keys and nothing that felt like it could have been done cheaper if they tried. The accelerator breaking could be viewed as a feature i suppose, since you got free throttle control when it no longer returned to 0.

I think the Kontio sticker is put there in Finland :D

My coworker has one. He bought it used (really cheap from another coworker) and had to fix something. Parts took a relatively long time to arrive but once he got it working it apparently has been quite reliable.

Stay away. Expensive, shitty products. I know because I worked for a company who retailed them, had issues with everything, from battery chargers breaking after 2 days, non existant customer support (even we had trouble contacting them).

Had to take one apart to do some work. Literally glued together plastic carbage, awfull to fix, awfull to buy because of their million side products and extra stuff and you only get a very mid vechicle for The effort. They're not The worst, the more powerfull motorbikes and scooters are pretty fun, but I wouldn't waste my money on them.

They're Chinese bullshit but with Finnish company importing them you actually have a chance to get some spare parts or warranty honored, that being said they're not great, not terrible.

Even the 1000 watt version is powerful enough to haul my whale body on flat ground and moderate hills. Our Kontio does not have battery capacity indicator which SUCKS, I have to approximate current range left by gauging voltage meter and general sluggishness of movement. Maneuverability is very poor due to extremely long wheel base and suspension is the cheapest from Alibaba.

If you're not too big (under 90kg) there's a moped style scooter with 500w motor and it sells for 300 euro in Hobby Hall, it's much better experience, we have them both.

Is Hobby hall legit? I heard things like they made changes a couple years ago that made the site trash but I can't confirm. 

I'd probably order there if I knew it was safe tbh. They seem to have decent deals.

It's a empty husk of past Hobby Hall but it still works, operates at same principle as CDON nowadays, they're a Chinese slop shop with native customer support and warranty.

I decided to give a shot to Hobby Hall when I found the scooter I wanted to buy and everything went smoothly.

You can find the exact product on AliExpress or Alibaba for much cheaper, finnish companies importing cheap goods and reselling at ridiculous markup is very common.
