Center and 9 Mile crosswalk concerns

Anyone have any luck contacting city services about installing additional safety measures at intersections? We’ve had a lot of close calls crossing at center and 9 mile even with the button light crosswalk system. Drivers look directly at us as they speed up to try to beat us walking across. I submitted a couple complaints through the clickfix system but haven’t heard anything. Concerned someone is going to get hit there! Any advice is welcome

Light grey/tan, striped, with a blue collar. Seemed friendly but skittish, couldn’t get a good look at the collar but wanted to see if anyone knew the owner or if the cat was a roamer, thanks to anyone with info!

I Need Help to get out of a Toxic Situation

I’m in a bad situation and need to move to Ferndale with my cat and my dog. But I live on SSI which doesn’t afford me any apartment in a normal situation. I also have a Bridge Food Card which helps. What should I do?

Ferndale schools

Wife and I plus our 3 year old are ready to move closer back home in Oakland county where we are from. I grew up in Troy and would like to suck it up and move there for the schools, my wife really likes ferndale and I do too especially for the cost of a home, but I am concerned about the school district. I was a 2012 grad and I remember visiting ferndale for sports all through high school and it felt pretty ghetto to me, the city looks like it’s changed a lot , but how are the schools really? Please people with kids in schools reply only

Is every home for sale a flipper?

I’m from the area originally and I’m excited to move back with my family. But it seems like every home we view online was purchased a year ago for a reasonable price, got a cheap facelift of millennial grey paint, laminate flooring, and AI staging, and is now listed for twice (or more) the price from a year ago. I know this is happening everywhere, and some of it has to do with greater economic issues, but it seems particularly egregious in Ferndale compared to surrounding areas. Just venting my frustrations I guess. How are y’all handling house hunting when everything appears to be a price gouging flipper? Are people holding off buying or just going for it since it is a nationwide issue?

What’s the trick or treat vibe around here?

Hello everyone, I just moved into a home near Donald-Geary park this year.

With Halloween approaching I was hoping to get a gauge on how big trick or treating is in the area just so I can make sure I’m stocked up to hand out candy

vogue vintage warehouse still around?

I lived in Ferndale about 10-15 years ago. Our budget didn't have room for the main store, so they sent us to the warehouse, which had tons of treasures. We're back in the area now and I haven't been able to find it, wondering if they had to close it down or relocate.

Is it still around?

Boo baskets

Growing up, people used to do boo baskets for the kids in the neighborhood. Is this something that still happens?? I had a baby recently so I thought it would be cute to do a boo basket for my neighbor who has little kids from my newborn!

Hey everyone!
We need help finding our little girl. Any leads, tips or advice is definitely appreciated. We are very worried about her.

Last seen on E. Maplehurst between Bermuda and Paxton/gainsboro

She is chipped and responds well to the sound of canned food.

Thank you all in advance ♥️

UPDATE: she has been found and is home!

Halloween decorating without attracting trick-or-treaters?

My husband and I love Halloween and want to decorate our house for the season, but we’d prefer to not participate in trick-or-treating or have kids coming to the door for candy.

For those of you who decorate but don’t hand out candy, what are some good ways to make it clear that your house isn’t participating? I would love our house to look festive and spooky without inadvertently advertising that we’re a trick-or-treat stop.
