December 8/9 of 1989, the first ever Rallycross event at Portugal, took place at the circuit Alto do Roçário at Sever Do Vouga, I Rallycross Rota da Luz!
After being in connections with the Loheac circuit, and being there to see how it was, the Vouga Sport Club directors finally built and organize the first ever event of Rallycross in Portugal. To take part in this beginning, several French pilots came to race in Portugal, Maïté Poussin, and Jean-Marie Tavernier were some of them. The event was grace by the presence of Joaquin Santos and the Ford Rs200 from the Diabolique Motorsport…
The Portugese Rallycross started here, but his history is still being made today…

Apologies if this is a silly question, I got thinking about this when reading the post on this sub earlier about all of the RX1 chassis used through the year.
When the regulations change in 2028, will the current vehicles used be able to be slightly modified and ran in the competition, or have the regs been changed so drastically that cars will need to be rebuilt from the ground up?

This years RX1 championship featured 13 different car models spread over 11 manufacturers with a total of 63 drivers. That's the highest amount of drivers to compete in the top class in the european championship since 2013, where 73 drivers competed. Funnily enough, that was the same season that Johan Kristoffersson made his rallycross debut.
Ignoring RX4 which rarely had enough entries to make this stat interesting - only three drivers featured in every final. Johan Kristoffersson and Juha Rytkönen in RX1, and RX5 champion Armin Raag. Juha Rytkönen finished the season with three straight third places.
RX5 had 5 different winners in 6 events. Martin Juga, who finished second in the championship, won none of those events, but finished on the podium in all of them except for the first round of Portugal.
Five drivers in RX1 lost championship points at some point in the season. Zoltan Koncseg, Viktor Kristensson, Shane Murphy, and Norbert Beckert all finished the season with negative points. Meanwhile, Fabien Pailler was penalized a grand total of 30 points across the season, and still managed to finish 7th in the championship. Had he not been penalized those points, he would've passed Patrick O'Donovan and Joni Turpeinen in the championship to finish 5th overall.
The highest placed RX1 driver in the championship to not enter all rounds is Rokas Baciuska, who despite only entering two rounds finishes 12th overall in the championship standings.
Attila Mozer had the unlucky honour of being the driver with the most starts without scoring a point. He entered 5 rounds of the 7 total, and finished in 25th just outside of the quarter finals three times.

Alongside Tb Adhi in RX1 and Kingston Effendi in RX5, it is confirmed in this interview that there will be two more Indonesian drivers entered in the event, being rally drivers Musa Rajekshah (aka "Ijeck") and Ryan Nirwan (driver for Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia). The two finished this season's APRC round in Indonesia 1st and 2nd respectively. Yet to be announced which class they will enter in the World Cup.

Euro RX 2026 is in the books so here are the provisional points after the final two rounds of racing in Portugal.

8 times a World Champion, Kristoffersson picks up the pieces after a disastrous weekend for former points leader Bakkerud, taking his first European Rallycross title. Bakkerud was relegated to third in the standings on the last day by his second-placed SET Promotion stablemate Rytkönen, after the Norwegian was eliminated in the Semi-Finals.
A total of 63 drivers took part in this season.

Gurklys wins his maiden title in European Rallycross, controversially colliding with his title rival Meunier in the Round 7 Final, clinching the championship by 2 points despite a disqualification from the race. A tarnish on a strong season and a heroic overtaking performance in the Semi-Final earlier in the day.
29 drivers took part in this season.

Bénézet claims the inaugural Euro RX4 championship and joins his father Eddy as a European Rallycross Champion. Melon takes second, his season undoubtedly hurt by his technical disqualification in Ireland. Deng finishes third with a win in the final round; he is the first Chinese driver to both win a European Rallycross Final and to finish on the championship podium.
10 drivers took part in this season.

Raag takes the inaugural Euro RX5 championship title ahead of his compatriot Juga, the latter finishing off the podium only once, but unable to find the top step.
20 drivers took part in this season.

N Team, who have ran Audrius Kragas and Tom Le Jossec in RX3 this season, has provided their Škoda Fabia for Julien Meunier to race in today after his huge accident last night.
KMS never gives up.
That's how we're known. And yet, last night, morale was at rock bottom.
Powerless. Devastated. The battle for the title seemed to be slipping away. Then, in the darkness of Lousada, a light appeared. Then a second.
The first: the N Team's Škoda, made available to us. Now you understand why they say Rallycross is one big family?
The second: our main competitor, who hadn't qualified for the final. Two more points gained in the title race.
At 10:30 p.m., a new race began.
Seat adjustments, Škoda preparation, setup fine-tuning… The team tackled a major task, turning the night into a second workday.
Today, Julien will put his helmet back on.
Today, France will hold its breath.
Because hope is not extinguished. All together. United. Until the very last round of this European season, whatever happens. This grand final awaits us. Perhaps the one that will write a story we won't soon forget.

Ole Christian Veiby (RX1, #96) has been reprimanded for an external cooling device on his car during pre-grid. No true penalty as the blower was permitted to be used for driver cooling and was placed atop the car (albeit inside the duct on the roof, as was seen on the broadcast) while it was being moved
Andreas Bakkerud (RX1, #13) has been fined 1,000€ for making an obscene gesture whilst on the live broadcast. He made a middle-finger gesture whilst seated in his competition car while being covered on the broadcast via the car's onboard camera.
Anna Rusek (RX4, #7) has been reprimanded for losing control of her car and colliding with the car of driver #69 (Melon) after the finish of the RX4 Final

Guys, if you have the rights, can you please upload the full EuroRX races from 2021 to 2024? (or whatever you have. Even those with no one commentating)
I barely remember seeing stuff from EuroRX in that time. WorldRX we could get on RedBullTV, but EuroRX disapeared! They showed the finals here and there but thats it. I know even Sverre Isachsen raced in Hell, but most of us couldnt watch that! We missed Bakku's title, Anton's double... They wouldnt even let Bakku use footage on his channel!!
IF POSSIBLE, release them during the off season! We know you guys take a look here sometimes. Thaaaaaaaaaaankssssssssssssssssssss, you are killing it this year! <3
