Loved them both, currently waiting very unpatiently for Revelation.

BGS? Im assuming a show near you where they had the demo available? I believe Gamescom had a playable demo, wouldve been feasible but only going to stand in line for hours to play like 10 minutes didnt sound like a good idea, specially since its like a 5 hour drive.

Rebirth is the goat, remake is whatever. I 100% the playlog on both and if remake was like learning how to walk, rebirth was 100km ultra marathon. If you really want to play rebirth you will have to be very good at the game

Two of my top 5 Final Fantasy games and I've been playing the series for decades.

You’ll have to learn a lot of combat to do the platinum but that’s the fun part and what makes it fulfilling.

A platina é basicamente fazer 100% do mapa e zerar no modo difícil?

There are also extra challenges in the musclehead colleseum that will probably be your toughest challenge. Bonds of friendship in particular.

Love them both. Replayed Remake recently, and Intermission is such a treat as a DLC. Revelation can't come soon enough.

I liked both a lot, although the mini game overload is a major deterrent for replays. It really holds this remake series back from being goated in my eyes.

Unless you mean the dreaded Cait sith mini-game, why don't you just skip them on a replay? I do.

1

u/Trunks252 1d ago

You are forced to play a lot of mini games to advance the story

2

u/No_Chemical_2086 17h ago

I'm pretty sure you can skip them on replay.

There’s like 6 mandatory minigames. Everything else is optional and/or can be lost.

1

u/Trunks252 16h ago

It’s more than that

2

u/postulate4 15h ago

There's actually 7 so I was only off by 1. The only mandatory minigames are:

  • chocobo training race (ch. 2)
  • dolphin race (ch. 4)
  • Junon parade (ch. 4)
  • 3 minigames for swimsuits (ch. 6)
  • Gold Saucer chocobo race

That's it. Every other minigame can be lost or skipped and the story will still progress. And three of the ones I listed were also mandatory in the OG.

1

u/Trunks252 15h ago

That's seven, I also think there are more in the Gold Saucer dates

2

u/postulate4 15h ago

That's seven

Yeah, I was off by one. Oh well.

I also think there are more in the Gold Saucer dates

Just don’t do them. You don’t even have to go to any of the Squares but one, the story advances when you go to Skywheel Square.

I don’t trust your AI bullet point list bro. There’s more than that.

2

u/postulate4 15h ago

Accusing me of AI? I've had this discussion before 2 years ago. Believe whatever you want. You've already made up your mind.

I'm pretty sure you can pause and skip these games on a replay, I can't totally remember since I do them regardless because I like most of them.

The final fantasy 7 remake hate phenomenon that's going around is strange. 😒 people care more about memes, catchy quips, and controversy than what's real nowadays.

Love both the games sm, can't wait until April 8th

I think they are awesome. I also like how we get to play as Zack along with the other party members.

-1

u/Mandarinuwu29291 17h ago

1

u/Ralos5997 15h ago

Yep and some of the moves require perfect timing to use I noticed with Zack and Tifa when it comes moves like triple strike and high braver.

Amo ambos

Someone would tell you this anyway, but if you don't like story spoilers than don't play Crisis Core until you've finished the original game or Revelation. It plainly depicts something that the OG reserves for a major and highly emotional plot twist.

-1

u/Mandarinuwu29291 1d ago

3

u/Apprehensive-Sir8977 1d ago

Was... was that last bit of body text where you mention that you're holding off always there? Did you literally spell things out in black and white that I didn't need to speak up before I went and did it? I hate when that happens. 😅

Initially I despised FF7 Remake for its design and complete 180 change in tone from the original.

... but then there was this moment in Rebirth. I was standing on the shipwreck cove in Junon, looking out across the ocean, and it was like lightning had struck my brain. I saw the generation defining game that was coming in part 3 and realized that the "flaws" of remake were actually what is going to make it special in the long run. All three games were going to be unique, and yet all parts would combine into a true remake of the original. Act 1 of the OG was a sluggish linear game with too many cutscenes (Remake). Act 2 was a meandering, pseudo open world game with a bunch of meaningless side content (Rebirth). Act 3 was a mind blowing open world game that makes you stand in awe when you think back to where it all began (Revelation). Its genius.

And as for the change in tone, thats life. The OG was made for me: a blossoming youth obsessed with video games. The remakes are made for the new generations, who are obsessed with anime instead. In order to expand the story and make it into such an epic scale, they needed to choose a style befitting such a thing. They chose the bombastic adventurous shonin style versus the cynical, dark, meta fairy tale of the original, which will be circled back to once we get to the dark final chapter of the trilogy. Its genius.

Even my complaints about the loss of the tight cinematic stillshot camera work from the OG became meaningless when I considered that the remakes are like 10x the size and length of the OG. It's just not practical to meticulously plan every single shot in a 200-300 hour story. The remakes have changed my entire perception of games as a whole, and opened my eyes to just how shortsighted my own critiques of games had become.

I really don't like them. Remake was a bit better than rebirth.

1

u/Mandarinuwu29291 1d ago

Sério? O que você achou ruim nos jogos?

0

u/Choice-Coffee-2151 1d ago

I didn't like the story changes or the combat. I really dislike the open world in rebirth. I think the characters are too different for me to enjoy.

I tried really hard to love it but I don't see what all the praise is about. The Cait sith box throwing dungeon is quite possibly my least favourite dungeon in my gaming history which is long.

3

u/No_Chemical_2086 1d ago

I think we all absolutely abhor Cait sith's box throwing game. 🤬

0

u/Mandarinuwu29291 17h ago

Of course I respect yours too. I'm jealous of people who enjoy it 😄
