After last week’s FFVII Revelation hot spring tease and the endless debate over the fun goofy vibes FFVII Remake adds like this chocobo stacking, I just couldn’t resist! lol 🙌✨

I don't get the controversy. Have people never played a JRPG before? Silly shit is part of the experience.

They’re all either professional fun-haters or people who take adherence to the original story way too seriously.

The darkest stories need silly, goofy bullshit to balance out the experience. Otherwise it’s just depressing, and that’s NEVER fun.

I'm a big Yakuza fan. These ducks ain't shit compared to what goes on in Yokohama.

I'm playing FF16 and one of my complaints is the lack of silly stuff and funny mini games. So far the story has been great but I could use a little fun in the bleak world.

seriously...this is a game where people are losing their minds hoping they left in the silly slap fight minigame, last game we helped a goblin wearing boxing gloves beat up a bunch of tiny cacti...but stacking rubber ducks crosses the line? thats about as absurd as the minigames are supposed to be lol

Keep in mind they complainied about it so much in Rebirth that they've added a bunch of "here, bitch, damn" features to skip it in Revelation and they're still not happy. It's not enough they don't have to do it - us people who enjoy it need to have it taken away for them to shut the fuck up.

I've been playing FFVII since 1997 as a child and the goofiness and fun moments like this are the most core FFVII vibes there are. Whether it's Yuffie stealing the party's materia, dressing up as Shinra grunts in Junon for the parade, going into a hot tub with a bunch of dudes in speedos at the honeybee inn, going to the Gold Saucer and being part of the play.

The game has ALWAYS had levity and fun goofy moments and the devs are just adding to it which I AM HERE FOR. Great work!

Levity is my favorite word for it.

What happens in the series is heavy no matter how you cut it, and it so clearly wants to burden you with that weight before showing you the ways the world can lift that weight off of you.

I don't see how people see Final Fantasy VII as anything approaching the doomerism-and-gloomerism fest some people describe it as. It's like they stopped playing at the end of Midgar and never got to the point where Cloud challenges everybody to find something worth saving the world for, if they can manage it.

This art captures that levity.

Seeing this rendered in your epic and beautiful artstyle makes the scene look even more goofy. The brilliant rays of light especially just crack me up.

Ahaha Vincent in the background with one rubber chocobo. This is amazing work. I would buy and hang this on my wall. For me the best moments in FF7 are the goofy or slice of life moments where the gang bonds

This is gonna end up as an incredibly annoying minigame in the next game

2

u/Soul699 1d ago

From what we learned it's just a cutscene that happens if you pick Cloud, Barret and Nanaki to go in a hotspring. It changes depending on the party members.

u/VermicelliNew2784 2d ago

Don’t play this mini game then ?

1

u/HopeBagels2495 2d ago

We dont even know what the minigame is or how it plays but skill issue lmao

Speaking of Cloud Jr and maybe I missed something about his mom dying… but, does anyone know why he lives in North Corel in that cage and not with his mother in the mountain? She came to pick him up after the mine cart minigame. I remember doing the missing birdie quest and being confused.
