The insights on the PLC and pre/post-race shows are next level. Who is the one person on the broadcast team that always makes you feel 10x smarter about race strategy after listening to them?
r/F1TV • u/CheckedBagLife • 3d ago
That's all, curious how others feel. I'm actually bummed that he's with Indycar most of the year.

Why is navigating this app during a replay weekend like walking through a minefield? You open the app trying to watch a session you missed, and the Hide Spoilers toggle is buried so deep you accidentally glimpse the podium results anyway. If you aren't perfectly precise with your clicks, the UI just feeds you the race winner right on the landing page. For a platform backed by top tier tech and engineering, making it this hard to just watch a clean, spoiler free race replay is wild. Is anyone else constantly getting burned by the layout, or did you find a bulletproof way to open the stream completely blind?

The minibox is useless and also seems to remove any commentary chances.

Tell the F1TV announcers to pay attention to what's happening, the team radios, and what race control is stating. They totally missed Ferrari's call to Lewis to "Box, Box" during the VSC, and berated Ferrari strategists all the way to the end about not calling Lewis in. But Lewis said after the race that not boxing was his call. I generally love their commentary during the race, but it makes me crazy when I see stuff happen on the TV that they've totally missed. I always hated that when watching Sky announcers, I'd like for these guys to do better.
Edit: for those saying "that never happened":

Lewis Hamilton described his decision to ignore a Ferrari pit call as a "painful lesson" after it dropped him from third place to sixth in the final 12 laps of Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix.
Hamilton's race unraveled when he ignored a call from the Ferrari pit wall to follow teammate Charles Leclerc into the pits under a virtual safety car period in the second half of the race.
The decision left him committed to a monster 44-lap stint on a single set of soft tires, which allowed three rivals on fresher tires to overtake him in the closing stages of the race.
Speaking on team radio after the checkered flag, Hamilton apologized to his team for ignoring its pit call, which would have provided a time-efficient pit stop under the VSC.

"I purchased F1 TV Access through Indian official partner, FanCode, using my phone number. The automated partner linking page (://fancode.com) is broken and loops straight to the payment plan page instead of activating. FanCode support told me to contact F1 TV directly to have the purchase manually mapped to my email account."

Seriously.
Step up the professionalism and say, âThank youâ or anything other than âGreat stuff.â
That same throw away comment that a driver makes as youâre manically walking along beside him as he makes his way to his car on the grid is anything but âGreat stuff.â
It is such a repetitive and pointlessly dismissive way to segue to another topic. Broadcasting has existed for ~75 years and we didnât need âgreat stuffâ to accomplish interviews.
Frankly, ditch all the âstuffâ â excellent stuff, brilliant stuff, high-speed stuff, twisty stuff, I-canât-come-up-with-a-way-to-use-an-adjective-without-adding-a-stuff stuff.
This overused phrase and its ilk cheapen your broadcast.

Anything else you lag like a snail or run out of DATA
Anybody else getting a quarter second static pop through the speakers while using F1TV? During the race I got 4. While streaming any other service I donât hear this. Im afraid itâs going to damage my speakers more than anything as its louder than the main feed and in tweeter frequency. USA, Apple4K set top, Samsung 77â, and Onkyo Dolby Atmos receiver.

hi! I got interviewed at the paddock entrance pre-sprint qualifying in Singapore by Tom Deacon & it went out live around the circuit on Friday, Iâm just testing my luck here to see if anyone knows if thereâs a replay for that under TrackTv somewhere? Iâve tried to search everywhere I could but no luck, even on those sketch websites where they stream the f1 weekend for free. I have an F1TV subscription & checked as well to no avail so if anyone knows any possible website I could potentially find it do let me know đĽš
Delta Wi-Fi isnât exactly known for its speed, but somehow YouTube TV streams just fine while F1 TV buffers every 10â20 seconds.
Is F1 TV really that poorly optimized?

My connection is 3rd world. and it just jumps everywhere all the time and f1tv is trying to choose an appropriate video quality but whatever it chooses the connection goes bad for 45 seconds then gets better 20 seconds then worse again, so the stream stays in fade in fade out the entire F race man, before I could just choose 480p and I would be good.

Just now with the post sprint qualifying and also yesterday where she was really going for it, and I think she was maybe 2 vs 1 in a way.
Nice to see that they expressing their viewpoints

Yet again, I cannot believe how stupid the Data Page is at the moment. What is Formula One practice and qualifying about? Times of course! And what canât we see? Times! Why canât you just put the sector times back instead of the silly âteam radioâ?
At this rate I think Iâll just stop watching practice and qualifying completely there is just no relevant information apart from the three fastest sector times bottom left.
The rest of the app and the information and screens are perfect - why canât you just put this back to somewhere where it was - brilliant?
r/F1TV • u/yslsvbino • 5d ago
Quite niche but if youâre sub to french canal + that gives you access to f1 tv pro you can use both apps and have two screens as a multiview on ipad
r/F1TV • u/randallpatrickc • 5d ago
I take it back - in Q1 sector times amazingly appeared big smiles!
Please keep them theređ

Watching her in the pre race show, she was so animated it looked like she was dancing. Was so distracting from what she was actually saying which was quite interesting about tyre strategy.

Since August updates on F1TV app on AppleTV4K gen3, the HDR is having all highlights severely muted with their brightness very low, around 100-200 nits by my estimation, all presentation looking more like SDR in HDR container than proper HDR. My tv is a LG G5 which can do 2500 nits and used to be very bright and colourful before said august updates. Same app on iphone works perfectly fine delivering much brighter highlights, and well, looking right. Such a shame, they used to have a nice working HDR feed since launch of Premium last year until a couple of months ago.

Hi, this past month I had a subscription I'd gotten through Fancode through a VPN connection to India, but now it won't accept my card anymore. I also can't sign up with the VPN set to any European country on F1TV itself, if I set my accurate billing info it says invalid (presumably because UK address) and if I set some random European address it recognises that the billing info doesn't match the card. Selecting Google Pay also just brings up "An unexpected error has occurred."
When I try opening F1TV App on my iPhone, even with the VPN set it only allows me to subscribe to Premium, not Pro, as if it knows I'm still in the UK. Any advice?

USA. Title says it all. Iâm trying to watch on my Roku, but suddenly the only option I see on the app is to subscribe. I open my app, itâs confirmed that Iâm both subscribed and linked to my AppleTV account. I sign into F1âs website, it also confirms. I have restarted my TV, logged out & back in, unlinked and then linkedâŚit wonât let me have my premium plan on Roku all of a sudden after 5 years of using it. How do I fix this?
