Failed Expectation Was not supposed to look like a derpy devil..
I was practising on this smaller pumpkin for when I get a big one closer to Halloween. Needless to say I failed and couldn't even do the teeth T_T

I think its cute 🥰.
Kind of looks like the pumpkin from that offbrand Wizard of Oz movie sequel

You mean Return to Oz, one of the best movies ever made for kids? The one that was mandated by the studio into being a sequel instead of stand alone, faithful adaptation of an Oz book?

😳
It has been many decades since I saw the movie as a kid, so I can't comment on the quality or adherence to the source material.
I can say I thought the pumpkin looked like the punpkin from the movie, though on googling I think it's more of the same kind of vibe versus actually looking alike.

I believe it was my first scary movie. I absolutely love it, but I still find several scenes just as unsettling as the first time I watched it. In fact, it’s still one of the only movies that ever affected my dreams. Freaking Mombi and her animation powder. And the Wheelers. Fuuuuhhh…

I think you just need to position those ears on the top of the pumpkin, I guess technically on the lid. Once you do that, it'll look pretty much the same.
If this was just a practice, I also recommend cutting the hole with the stem smaller. Like 3-4 inches in diameter max!

Looks to me like either the rind was too tough or the carving tools weren't sharp enough.

All kitty pumpkins are The Best! I saw one last year...funny. It was from the back end, kitty looking behind itself. You'll have to imagine it, can't find photo.

If it helps, I found out there are these tools called "pumpkin carvers" around me that are thin serrated blades and are amazing, they give you a lot of control!
I had trouble carving with normal kitchen knives, they would offer get stuck or slip and I would end up cutting parts I wanted to keep.
The serrated stuff works like a saw, so it doesn't get stuck, and you can stab it at any point in the pumpkin, no need for a pre drilled hole. Being think, you can easily make small circles or turn the blade around for sharp corners, or stuff like that.
Just be careful to not cut yourself.
