That’s a good idea too! Honestly wondering if we need to do the same for Walmart cakes but I hate being the kind of mod who starts “banning” things right and left…
To be honest, I don’t know that this megathread really worked - there haven’t been that many nail posts here. It almost worked the same as banning nails. But we are considering doing a cake flair if things get rough.
Basically the first three pages of the sub are cakes right now. And they're mostly "AI Expectation" cakes too which is even worse, I'm sure you see that it's mostly bots or people commenting to stop posting AI slop/bringing AI slop to bakers and the bots just add gasoline to that and mimic it and it's honestly spam in the sub.
Yeah, bot bouncer has done a good job at kicking out the bots as they pop up, but new ones are made every day (every second probably) so I see your point. I’ll set up the flair
Also - I went to check it out and the first three pages of the sub were not all cakes for me? I saw a mix of cakes and non-cake content. So that’s odd. Different algorithms?
I just have mine set to new but I notice it doesn't always go in order from recent to older (might be new + an algorithm?) but I don't really come into the sub anymore because of the bots/AI/cake and the ONLY ones I see on my home feed are cakes. I definitely think the flair is good idea.
To be fair, I only asked for the ghost design on one nail and for a French tip on the rest. I expected a white ghost with white French tip.
I ended up with a “pumpkin ghost” nail as my fiancé called it and Halloween French tips. And honestly, I find it cute and whimsical in its own Halloween-ish way. Not even upset about it at all! 🎃👻

Oh thank god. This sub has basically become /nailexpectationsvsreality.
