Just a little Enya edit I made; the song is An Ghaoth Ón Ghrian (The Solar Wind) but sped up ☺️🎶🪄

I intended to share yesterday, but these wise words from Eithne can be for any day. ♡ 🏞 🌠

(I would post direct if the subtitles weren't so inaccurate here. 😅)

The music speaks for itself, but I find a lot of what Eithne has said outside of that is very attuned to one's mental health and wellbeing; it has been from very early on. 💗 Even having stalkers didn't change her values; she considered the individual rather than the act alone. 💡

If I did another similar edit; I would have to include about Nicky and Roma being there for her as well. ❣️

Given that Enya doesn't go on tour and maintains a very private life, I realise that spotting her out and about would be a bit like seeing a purple unicorn, but if you have in fact happened across her, what was the experience like? Did you approach her or did you leave her be?

Here's 'A Day Without Rain'! As always, I really want to know what you guys have to say, especially about this one!!

Again, I really appreciate all your comments!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and feel free to keep them coming

Yeah, most probably already know about it (maybe not). But I just wanted to make a post appreciating it. I love that I can hear Enya's voice clearly (I love her timbre), she sings so beautifully and sometimes it gets hard to appreciate the nuances of her voice when she makes hundreds of layers (which I love also).

I love the drums also, you can feel something more connected to African music here.

here again!! I really appreciate all your comments... feel free to share your thoughts, fun facts, or anything else!! my top 3 songs are the 3 most streamed, so I really can't complain lol

✨ 1-hour loop of this song if you want to dive in.

I know this concert was very controversial and there were even some legal problems with it. Some attendees complained that they were misled into thinking Enya herself would be there and there are many comments on the youtube videos saying it was heretic to Enya's music.

I don't think so. I think it was overall lovely: the arrangement, the orchestra, the piano, the choral and most of the singing were great. It showed that it was possible to make a concert out of Enya's music. And that the excuses the trio had been giving for 30 years were just that -- excuses. This was the closest to an "Enya" concert we will ever get.

My brief opinion on each song from the first part of the concert:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-SCyz8ijys&list=RD_-SCyz8ijys&start_radio=1

Fairytale: like all the other instrumentals or semi-instrumentals I think this was lovely. The choral was really good.

Sang by Rūta Ščiogolevaitė

Orinoco flow: This was just fine. My least favorite of the first part. The problem is that Orinoco Flow is one of the more heavily produced and overlayed of her songs so translating to live is difficult. But let me say she did a much better job than Enya herself in singing it live...

Book of Days: Good. Probably a bit too strong singing compared to the original but I like it.

Sang by Evelina Sašenko

First let me say that out of all the singers she is definitely the best one.

One by one: One of my favorites from the concert. The vocal extension in the sustained notes at the end of each verse is great and I don't think Enya herself could pull it off.

I want tomorrow: Very nice for them to include this one. Excellent: arrangement, singing, choral, solo strings.

I don't see how any real Enya fan can possibly not like this concert.

Here's Watermark!! I thought Cursum Perficio would be higher, but The Longships actually beat it, which is pretty surprising to me :0 (also, poor Morning Glory)

It's interesting to compare these numbers with Enya/The Celts, it gives us a better idea of how popular Watermark is as an album

I saw this in another subreddit and wanted to try it here!! [Credits to Prestigious_Tip2921].

Since 'The Celts' is technically a remastered/reissued version of Enya's 1987 debut 'Enya', I'm counting the spotify version as 'Enya/The Celts'. Are there any tracks you think deserve more streams?

I'm really stuck on what song this is! In there, there is a melody of F-G-A-Bb-G in quarter notes and a half note on the G and then a string if quarter notes CCBbABbAG-A-G. The notes might be in a different key, but its the same idea. No lyrics, it's humming or maybe duh duh duh duh duuuuuh.... AI couldn't help me, time to go to the experts.

Enya’s official website hasn’t really been updated in four or five years. Right now, it still looks like a temporary page created for the 35th anniversary of Watermark.

I honestly think an artist like Enya deserves a bit more attention when it comes to her official website and social media. Even if she isn’t releasing new music at the moment, keeping those channels active could help introduce her music to new listeners and give longtime fans a better way to stay connected. 🙂

As things stand, someone discovering Enya today and checking out her official online presence might easily get the impression that she stepped away from music years ago. 😔

I know Enya has always been a very private artist and has never relied much on promotion or social media, but it still feels like her team could do a little more to keep her website active and up to date.

What do you think is the reason it hasn’t been updated in so long?

I just saw this again and thought it deserved its own post. 😁⛲️ It briefly appeared in a since deleted TikTok clip shared/filmed by some of Eithne’s nieces.

The earlier mention of the water fountain was from a 2000 interview by Roma's sister, who was obviously allowed into the castle! 😊 The lovely article is archived here; screenshot of the related bit on the 2nd image. I wonder where in Europe Enya had found the fountain to take back with her? 😄♡ Those upper 'bowls' are quite elegant. 🪄

It also includes songs by Enya's sister and other family members, yes it does.

Where could I find the two songs from the Touch Travel cassette in slightly better quality?
