I had found Frank (the hammerhead flatworm) while taking soil samples for another experiment, and now we're keeping him as a pet in the lab. He can't get out of his containers, today was the first time I fed him.

i was in group therapy outside and saw this BEAUTIFUL moth ive never seen before climb under a leaf and take a nap for over an HOUR. i genuinely thought he had passed away knowing some moths just breed then die but when i was trying to collect him he walked! he must be super sleepy lol. if he does pass soon id love to keep him but if hes not there when i come back im happy knowing he passed away under this leaf like he wanted. watching him sleep under this leaf so soundly made me feel really peaceful.

At first I thought it was a moth and then as I was looking at it I saw the antennae but looking at the picture it looks like that could be a parasite busting out. Even without the antennae I’m at a loss, maybe about the size of a bigger grasshopper

Hello fellow bug lovers I need your help!!
So I've been taking bug pics quite often whenever i can (see pics!!) but as y'all can tell some of them are are quite shaky and not so good, expecially with the camera of my phone, even with macro option on.
I am seeking tips on a good camera that I can get to take better pics, if it exists, maybe an affordable one. I know nothing about cameras and I was wondering if anybody could help out, since for me this is a really nice and relaxing hobby and I enjoy the company of this little critters
Please help! :((
(I dont know if this is in the entomology community rules so sorry in advance)

Found this guy here in the kitchen of the chapel I attend to. I hadn't seen one of these in years, and the children loved it!
In Brazil we call them "esperança", which means "hope" in Portuguese

So I have a really nice oddities collection of bones and whatnot. I picked up a few mounted insects along the way. I purchased this Luna Moth online about a year ago. In the interim, I started pinning my own and fell in love with the hobby. So, looking at this piece more closely, I was irked at the cheapness of the whole thing. The tarot card is a cheap print - likely on a home printer. The specimen is hot glued onto the print, so there are no legs. More importantly, it is deteriorating! I'm interested in learning what kind of deterioration this is, how to avoid it.
I also recently bought a pair of orchid mantises from a convention. I didn't know what I was looking at at the time but they were flat like they got pressed under a stack of books or something. Additionally, those disintegrated, too! But I found tiny bugs in their frame so I assume that was the culprit. The luna moth doesn't have anything visible like that.

I have just known that there's a National Caterpillar Day, celebrated on September 15!
I missed it this year, so let me celebrate it a month late! 🐛
Here are some caterpillar photos I took last year.

Found this little guy outside my school today and I have a few questions on preserving it. Because of the damage, should I stuff them? And how do I repair the damage? Also, what species are they? Found in southeastern PA.

I thought this was a leaf in one of my fake potted plants, I went to grab it and pull it out when I saw it was this really weird looking insect. Do anyone have any tips or ideas on what it could be?

Found this beetle while walking on mountain trail near Tbilisi.
After I took it and placed on more open place to take a photo, it curled up and played dead. After several minutes it scuttled away.
Its wings are reduced, so it cannot fly, and abdomen is quite soft on the touch.

This morning I found this but that I've never seen before and after researching, I'm quite sure it is a techina grossa. Does anyone know if these are invasive to the area and how one might've ended up here?

I'm not trying to identify this, it's a wasp and that's enough for moi.
I have a very irrational fear of wasps (spheksophobia?), but I've done my best to trap them and put them outside (without running away screaming ew ew ew like a little girl) ever since a bizarre interaction with one last year.
Right now I have two buzzing around my kitchen, this one is snacking on tiny bits of honey stuck to a jar in my tea prep area, and the other seems more interested in the water-filled dishes in my sink.
My only question is how might I best lure them into a jar so I can trap and put them outside? From what I read I don't think honey is good for them, and I suspect what they're really looking for is water. I have a jar with a few drops of water and a drop of honey sitting near the pictured wasp, and this time it's just ignoring it. It's easy to trap them when they cling to a flat surface, but these two are not cooperating.
Suggestions for safe and humane removal of wasps from house welcome. 🐝
