Bug? Vodyrani Ark taken over UC Nexus

I assume this is a bug? Umbral Choir is still on my diplomacy screen but I can't find Nexus 😂

They have a few turns to take it back before they're actually eliminated iirc.

I ran around the map for 10 turns after taking it over looking at every special node and they are still in game.

The clock icon on the upper right corner of the planet windows? What does that say?

I would assume thats how long they have to survive then. Im not 100% sure, since ive never been eliminated as UC, so I havent experienced the mechanics for myself.

I think usually other empire which can invade could make it 10 turns on endless speed for faction like Unfallen and UmbralChoir to be eliminated from game if they lost their capital.

Maybe because of Vodyani make it into a razed system status, the ticking clock degradation to its last pop cause the unintended changes?

Its possible thats the case, since the Vodyani gain essence each turn a system is being razed. So it may be some wierd interaction with the unique faction mechanics thats allowing them to persist.

UC is a great trade partner, when I play with computer I always get peaceful with them.

Didn't notice that clock. 17 turns

I would surmise that this might be the charging time for the transmigration beacon. This faction is capable of relocating its capital system.

Normally If you raze a system, it takes a while for it to be fully destroyed, with it losing pops and buildings over time. any empire can colonize it and preserve whats still there during that time.

In the UC's case, I assume thats their reclamation clock, because they have a hacking action where they can reclaim their home system. Not sure about the specifics of how that works, since Ive never been eliminated when playing UC.

I'm not sure they could take it back by hacking though. It's kinda neat seeing the Ark colonizing the system. Was surprised that could happen. Which raises the question if I was playing another faction could I take over the Nexus too. Will have to try it unless anyone here knows!

From the wiki

Umbral Choir specific hack actions:

Recover Lost Home System: Level 2. Recover control of your lost Home System.

Although im not sure if the home system needs to be unoccupied, or if they can just flat out take it back from someone else, like I said, never been eliminated as UC so am not 100% sure of the mechanics

But afaik the nexus just acts like any other system if another faction takes it over.

Apologies, I was vague. I meant with me colonizing it, I think they would have to wage war to get it back. But again, like yourself I've never seen this situation.
