I put a ** at the beginning for new items I added at this time.
If you think another I haven't added deserves mentioning in that thread, let me know.
One new example - This was a biggie for me:
The closest thing to an official timing from Bush (June 19) about the year of the fleeing and the movie (even if we've all pretty much figured it out):
Caveat: this is my attempt to bring together information that's been confirmed. I will try to add (or correct) what I am posting; This is a work in progress. If I make a statement without a link, but you have the link, I'd love to see it posted in the comments below (that sounded youtubish to me too)
But anyone interested - THANKS for making this post better!
NOTE: The emphasis on these links is Jared's quote - you often have to scroll up to see the question he answers.
Although these were works in progress and some things were abandoned before the movie, these are useful resources to at least "headcanon" more thoughts.
The Art of Encanto (this may be a temporary resource)
One more thing to add - dates, ages, and (and even heights) are all relative things. But many want a year to attach these things to. There is no confirmation to the year by Jared Bush or anyone else. One clue (and even in the movie it is not canon till a movie creator says so), suggests 1900 for the fleeing, which would set May 21, 1950/1951 as the date for Antonio's gift. This is a painting on the casita wall, right before Luisa says "I felt WEAK!"

One time last year I was fidgeting with my Bruno figure in drama class. I was right next to teacher. She said, why do you have a mini jesus figure at school? Your jewish. The whole class was like nooo thats Bruno from Encanto and the teacher wad like omg it is.
Core memory it was very funny.
(Also i carry Bruno w me cuz I kin him so its a comfort item for me cuz school stressful
Didn’t know how to save images on Instagram without screenshotting. I ASSUME this is just the movie, scaled down to a half-hour. I mean, how long are the shows on cruise ships? I remember seeing the Nemo musical at Animal Kingdom. I was seriously impressed and kind of wish it was a full-length stage musical.
I mean their cute ideas but the idea that Mirabel has a gift that she doesn't know she has yet kinda goes against the point the movie made that she's special even without powers. There's theories some fans have like she has magic sewing powers because she likes to sew or that she can pause time itself. The theory for that one is basically that Mirabel actually froze everyone in place at the beginning of her song "Waiting on a miracle", she just didn't realize she was the one doing that and assumed it was just another ability the house has. That one is actually kinda cool but I still don't think she needs a gift.

I know people are gonna list Hamilton for specific characters - cough cough Camilo - so if you pick Hamilton , please pick other musicals alongside. You can list more than one in general.
What do you think their favorite characters and songs would be?
Pls refrain from infighting if it's a nothing burger disagreements.
I haven't really seen anyone do an Encanto Pokémon Trainer AU before and it's been an idea I've had for a while now, so here's Mirabel with her starter Pokémon Eevee!!! I really want to share more about my AU so uh let me know if you all want to hear more about as I have SO much lore about it to share hehehe.
All the foreshadowing and hidden information between the lyrics and background.
The music is peak especially Isa’s song.
The way that Mirabel, even if just for a second, acts the same as everyone else, where, the moment she sees a bad prophecy about herself, that being, her with the house cracking, she immediately regrets talking about Bruno and even if she didnt blame him.
okay i think Papercutz just hates us all atp lmaooooooooo
The Amazon listing still has the Kindle edition of it still on November 24, 2026, so maybe this could just be for physical copies of the book but still....
Now I’m fully aware that Abuela gravitates towards Isabella and likely has her entire life. But I find it odd that in this picture, when looking at each of their doors:
1) in each of the pictures, even as far back as her children being small Abuela has both hands on the candle, but in the one beside Isabella. One hand is on the candle and one is on Isabella. I suspect that she was hopeful that Isabella would be the next matriarch and I’m prepared to be wrong, but I’m curious why the illustrators decided to only shift Abuela‘s stance here and not in the others pictures?
2) everyone’s door shows who they are going to be when they age up except for Camilo. Now I am aware that he shaped shifts and I’m also having a hard time fully making out what his door looks like from afar, so I’ll look up his door independently of this post, but I’m curious why his door shows him as a kid as opposed to an adult like the rest of his family.
For the first time, experience ENCANTO as a Movie Roller Coaster and Dark Ride POV! Take a magical journey through Antonio’s treehouse, fly through Bruno’s cave, sweep over Isabela’s fortress of flowers, and that’s only the beginning of this incredible adventure!

Its really good twist on one of my favorite Disney movies im glad to get to learn more about mirabels and her sisters relationships how they grow and become stronger.
I do not blame Abuela for becoming so cold and expecting too much from everyone and eventually ruining her relationship with her granddaughter. She lost the love of her life and the father of her triplets. Yes she got this beautiful gift after losing her husband but she had to deal with grief and take care of 3 newborns by herself. I understand why she became so cold
I've said since the movie came out that Mirabel is a much better person than me because I would not have handled her situation as well as she did
But it's surprising she has such a positive relationship with Casita considering Casita is technically the one who didn't give her a gift, like literally the door disintegrated in front of Mirabel's eyes
And even if the magic is completely out of Casita's control, Casita couldn't give Mirabel her own room? Like Mirabel is a teenager and she still has to live in the nursery and had to share a room with the five year old
Casita literally makes huge jungles like come on she can make a normal bedroom so a girl can have some privacy and her own space
And while Casita and Mirabel don't talk they absolutely communicate and understand each other and if I was Mirabel I would've asked wtf why didn't I get a gift and can you please make me a room of my own
