Hand Stuck

Post image

I want the center to look like a polished stone that has been smashed and is sort of leaking energy. I’m now realizing that I probably should have filled the center with long-and-short stitches first and then put the cracks on top. But I didn’t, and now I’m trying to figure out how to finish this piece. The two thoughts I had were 1: satin stitch each segment separately, with all the threads angling toward the center/fracture point; or 2: doing a color gradient across the whole center with long and short stitches, ignoring the fracture lines as much as possible.

I know the outside bit is a right mess; my only excuse is that it’s my first time doing an actual project with metallic thread 😂

The 2nd option but go over the cracks again afterwards if they are crowded out.

I did my first project with metallic thread recently. Dear God. If you make enough mistakes and have to re-thred it too many times, it gets...fluffy?..and breaks apart. Didn't know thread could do that
