Help How do you decide which build to follow?

First souls like... And im having so much fun.

I am leveling vigor for some time now cause i don't know what i should focus on. Well i did watch a few vedio about attributes but still...

I took astrologer because i wanted to use magic. But hitting enemies with weapon is also fun.

I just defeated rennala, so i can do a rebirth...

The only good spell i have is the beginning spells.

How do you guys decide like " i should focus on int/dex/str"

Thank you all

Discussion Mid game - Faith build decision point!

Ok, I'm level 80. Have Caelid mostly cleared and am exploring Altus. Started Prophet and have mostly kept a true Faith build going. Vigor / Faith both at 40, using Winged Scythe. Trying to determine what next.. do I level dex for some other weapon choices. I'm pretty mediocre at melee so not really drawn to more strength. I know Arcane is an option for the DC spell scaling. But is leveling some dex and arcane a good idea? .. I know the Scythe falls off hard soon with holy damage but just curious. I don't like pure spell casting, black flame / Lightening spear already carries me through 90% of battles and want to change it up (not full respec) a bit for what's next.

Question Would a beast build “work”

Using things like beastial incantations, roar of rugalea, beast claw type weapons, among other things of that nature. I know anything can work but I’m just wondering how much of a struggle it’ll be?
Might also add on the crucible incantations because they are also kinda beastly

Question Good weapons for low stat builds?

I’ve been playing Elden Ring for a while, but just recently got interested in co-op. I have a lvl 40 build using +6/+2 weapons for early area summons. I’m somewhat limited by weapon requirements due to most of my levels being vigor and was wondering if anyone had any favorite weapons. More interested in a fun build than a necessary strong build.

For reference 18 Str, 16 Dex, 9 Int, 9 Fai, 7 Arc.
The stat talismans and two-handing do let me widen my range a bit.

PvE Endure spellcaster. Should i go int or faith?

Hello everyone! I want to build a TANK mage. Snipe enemies from afar, and when they get close(if they manage to) i want to be able to trade with them with endure or an unbreakable attack like lion s claw.

I m not sure which would be better, int or faith for this type of playstyle? I can start int and switch later to faith or vice versa if one of the playstyles makes early game easier or late game harder.

Or maybe faith arcane? A dragon communion build? Not sure how strong they are compared to pure int/faith.

Discussion Need some help choosing my new build.

I want to make a new build after I finish my current play thru. I'm wondering if anybody has any advice. The style of build I want is a build with a fast weapon and staggering weapon. I don't really want super close range weapons like daggers, claws, etc since I've been playing a lot of daggers. I want a fast midrange weapon and second weapon for staggering that's also decently fast. Wondering if anybody has suggestion on early game weapons or builds that suit this best.

PvE Double Rapier Build for DLC NG+2

Rank the build!

This is ng+2
Golden Braid is there because im going to fight Consort Radahn, usually use the Two-Headded Turtle Talisman instead.

Any upgrades or re-specs I can do when going into ng+3?

Help Can't figure out what talismans to run (near end of first ever playthrough)?

I don't know how to decide on talismans. Not sure if that is a function of my "build" (i use that term loosely, its kind of all over) which is a jack of all trades build? Getting to the end of the game (almost to Malenia, then Farum, and the end). This is my first playthrough, and im having a blast.

Build:

Right

Cross-Naginata +25 (Spectral Lance) - Primary

Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear +10 - Secondary

Left

Golden Beast Crest Shield (forget level, but its like +18 or so)

Dragon Communion Seal +10

Stats (r150):

50 Vigor, 20 Mind, 23 Endurance, 24 Strength, 22 Dex, 10 Int, 25 Faith, 55 Arcane.

Incantations: Dragon Maw, Rotten Breath, FGMS, Golden Vow, Black Flame, Frenzied Burst, Lighting Spear, Flame Cleanse Me.

Basically chuck a lot of Spectral Lances and other ranged attacks to soften up beefier targets, which can be poked/guard countered to death. On bosses, rotten breath or dragon maw at opportunity, plus lances and melee/bleeds.

Talismans:

Not sure what i should be using here: most of the time (other than bosses) im using Green Turtle, Taker's Cameo, Ancestral Spirit Horn, and Carian Filigree Crest. For bosses i'll just swap for defensive ones (Dragoncrest Shield, appropriate "Drake" elemental) and throw in a Flock's Canvas. For areas like Miquella's Haligtree i leaned heavily on Arrow's Reach, because that place was a nightmare.

I just feel like there is a better setup here, but maybe it is just because of what my build is. I dont have Shard of Alexander yet. Ive tried several things and none of them have really landed. Suggestions for what to look at?
