Breaking News Aramco headquarters damaged in missile strike as Houthi air defence targets Saudi Typhoon jet over Saada
At the same time, air combat over northern Yemen has taken a serious turn. Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced that their air defence forces intercepted and directly struck a Royal Saudi Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon jet flying over Saada Governorate after it scrambled from Taif Air Base.
The fallout for foreign workers and regional travel has been immediate. The Indian Embassy in Riyadh issued urgent safety directives instructing the large Indian community to remain indoors during sirens, refrain from circulating attack videos, and track flight cancellations after an Indian national was confirmed killed in recent strikes. Major air routes linking South Asia to key Saudi hubs remain heavily disrupted, leaving thousands of travellers and pilgrims stranded.
Meanwhile, ground fighting in Yemen continues to intensify. Al Jazeera reported that Yemeni government forces carried out over 2,300 targeting operations, destroying roughly 460 rebel combat vehicles during counter-sweeps. Additionally, the Associated Press and Al Arabiya confirmed that investigations have opened into reports of Houthi technical units using specialised Chinese components to assemble medium-range ballistic missiles.
With corporate oil headquarters taking direct hits and fighter jets coming under missile fire, do you think regional air defence shields can prevent further strikes on key commercial hubs?
