🕯️General Discussion I understand why my father gave me this Spoiler
galleryMy father is more of a car guy and an introvert, it’s hard to talk with him, as I’m an introvert also, and into games; but he gave me this on my fifteenth birthday: I never understood why; but I did understand the appeal, I liked fantasy, character development and long story’s, Star Wars is/was my favorite thing at said time.
I finished book one very interested, one scene of him rejecting the maiden peeked my interest, then the second came along as I read it: I was struck by the tone, it was a mix of shame, and eager to get everything right: trying to find and fix himself per say. I read the third but it didn’t interest me as much, but I loved the character and relationship between him and our loving cat, that I’ve since moved onto the forth, which I’m in the middle of (hate this wizard as much as the barbarian king after that one scene where they meet).
Yet, to link this back around; I and my father, had some… difficult childhoods… not from each other, regardless of how often we interact, we love each other. Yet, one event happened to both of us, which we don’t talk about: the reason though this character connects us, is, (I believe) based off the idea of the… (don’t know how to put this honestly).
Sensitive, or empathetic, or emotional man; best example is in the third book I think, where that man is begging to be killed, bounty hunter I believe: don’t get me wrong, my father is strong, vet and all; but I see he deals with things like I do, shuts everything out; no music, no talking, no hobbies to disturb: he has his own room that he locks, or goes to his bedroom, and blocks everything out: same as I.
In a sense, I felt both me, and my father, within this character, as he solely relied on our lovable friend Guenhwyvar: each of us have something to hold onto, rely on like Drizzt; each of us fight this, ‘beast’ inside us. I see it every day in him, but, he never explodes oddly enough, nor do I tend to, I think he sees it in me sometimes, he randomly asks if I’m ‘okay’, not, ‘are you doing alright’, but ‘okay’ while gazing into my soul; I think some will know what I mean.
He and I are closer now because of this book as we talk about it… strangely, it almost feels like an heirloom per se. a gift that I would only understand as I got older, which is probably why I started reading them about two years ago now: anyway, this is my rant/vent per se, good book, definitely passing it down to my son, (if I have one, still young adult), but in a way, I also hope my son ‘doesn’t’ understand/perceive it in the way my father and I do; I haven’t gotten far, but I think Drizzt is my favorite character of all time, and deserves a faithful adaptation: the world needs this kind of man again, but I doubt many will like or understand him fully, since most are obsessed with ‘peak masculinity’:
Till we speak again friends.

❄️Pre-Iruladoon (Transitions) Anyone else cry over the letter to Dwahvel Tiggerwillies? Spoiler
Maybe because I’m listening to the audio books and the voice actor is so great, but I’ve been so emotional as an older male by Wolfgar, Entreri, and the Auckney arc.
Dwahvel is described and acts like my wife.

❄️Pre-Iruladoon (Transitions) Finished Homeland: First time Reader
Just for a little background information, I'm not a D&D player. Honestly, I don't know anything about it. I've just heard about this series through the fantasy grapevine. I heard a lot about this being a starter fantasy series and pretty basic, but I was really interested in the premise.
I finished reading Homeland yesterday and I have to say that I really love the character of Drizzt. I really found myself connected to him and seeing a lot of my own personality traits in him. (Other than being a drow and being a proficient dual wielding master) I really felt Drizzt's struggle with finding himself, who he is and what he stands for, how he fits in with his family, and his urge for companionship. He grew up in a horrible world which did not care about him one bit, even his own flesh and blood (especially them). I really loved the dynamics with Zak and finding some kind of male figure in his life to look up to as I have had this same kind of thing in my own life. Also, finding true companionship in Guenhwyvar warmed my heart as I have always had a strong connection with animals. Seeing Drizzt's constant struggle and fight within himself to hold to his morals and not change who he is based on his surroundings is a really admirable trait. I think it provides very important lessons for people to learn about their own lives and how society will try to change you to fit their mold rather than you finding your own path. Especially in our current age of social media and cancel culture for not conforming to everyone else's beliefs.
In a society where there is darkness, chaos, mayhem, death, sadness, and a struggle to wake up and get out of bed each day, we move forward believing in ourselves and what we stand for. We look for even the smallest flash of light within the darkness and forge our path to find who we are, stick to our own morals and humanity no matter what social pressures tell us, and find meaning in our lives and the world we live in.
"Do more than survive, my son, as I have survived. Live! Be true to the callings in your heart."

🕯️General Discussion Guenhwyvar size
I'm planing on making a guenhwyvar figure in a similar style of the catti brie and drizzt modern icons figures from GameStop. What I'm trying to figure out is how big I should make her in the visual dictionary she is 5ft on all fours making her only four inches shorter than drizzt. This seams slightly excessive and would cause the base to be double or triple when compared to the drizzt and catti brie base.
Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated thanks

❄️Pre-Iruladoon (Transitions) *Spoiler* Question... Spoiler
So in Pirate King it seems Jarlaxle and his band played a big role in Deudemont's death. Yet, Drizzt never confronted Jarlaxle about this. Not sure if he just wasn't aware of how much involvement Jarlaxle had or just accepted the fact the ways of his dark kin. Perhaps Jarlaxle didn't realize how much of a friend Deudemont was to Drizzt or Jarlaxle and Drizzt weren't close enough at that point for Jarlaxle to be merciful?
Either way this is actually one of Jarlaxles darker moments.
What do you thinks? Maybe I missed something..

❄️Pre-Iruladoon (Transitions) Who is the lady?
So I've started Exile and this entire time I've been trying to work out who the lady and the guy is? I know the woman must be either his sister's or mother and the guy could be his brother.
I'm on chapter 6 of the book if that helps!
Edit: Jeez I didn't expect this many people to respond and that Drizzt had such a big fanbase!

🎨Fanworks Drizzt Short Film in the Works
A Cordial Welcome DND Community,
We are Dark Mirror, a CSU Northridge Thesis Project, where the Legendary Ranger, Drizzt Do’urden is tasked with the capture of an alleged goblin criminal, but is instead confronted by his internal prejudice. He finds himself trapped between following unjust laws or risking his own persecution.

🕯️General Discussion Drizzt Book Colors
I have been getting into book rebinding and am thinking about doing the whole series in homemade hardbacks. I would use the new printings. I plan on the exterior being a consistent black fabric but want the interior end pages(the page connecting the text block to the cover) to be colored based on the contents of a group of books(trilogy). I am way behind (somewhere in between book 7 and 10, it's been a while) however and wanted to know what colors each set should be tied to. I'm not opposed to mild spoilers for reasoning as I have a vague idea of future events and just wanted some thoughts. Any ideas are appreciated. And here are my ideas so far:
Dark Elf Trilogy: Black
Icewind Dale Trilogy: White or Light Blue
Thanks in advance.

🎨Fanworks Homeland in Unreal Engine
Hi everyone. Thought I would show off the game I’m working on currently in Unreal. These are screenshots taken from inside the game. FYI It’s just an open-source thing I’m making to practice game design but my goal is to be able to play through the entire Homeland book. Obviously I would never attempt to profit off of intellectual property that isn’t mine.
I haven’t started making the map lore accurate yet, still just playing with environment/lighting. Menzoberranzan is kind of a pain in the butt from that perspective but I’m having a ton of fun working on it. These spiders took me forever lol.
Would love to hear your ideas about what would make a Homeland game great & am always open to constructive criticism.
Thanks for looking!
I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO ANY ART, LIKENESS OR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY FOUND IN THESE SCREENSHOTS. THIS IS A FAN MADE GAME BUILT FOR MY OWN ENJOYMENT & EDUCATION.

🕯️General Discussion Concerning Catti-Brie Spoiler
Concerning Catti-Brie
Hello everyone!
I'll start by saying that I'm only just finishing the eighth book. So, forgive me if I don't know much about the story yet, and please don't spoil it. 🙏🏼
I'd like to discuss Catti-Brie's behavior, or rather, her attitude.
I initially became very passionate about the love story between Catti and Wulfgar, admiring its simplicity. I was also really drawn to the theme of Wulfgar, who, as a savage barbarian, slowly discovers the civilized world. A path Drizzt had already taken, albeit in a different way.
In any case, I had gotten used to the fact that Catti-Brie, even though she wasn't even remotely comparable to the others in terms of combat, still insisted on following them.
In book 7, Wulfgar, as we know, is tricked by Entreri into believing that Drizzt and Catti kissed on the mountain. His reaction is understandable for a barbarian, but when it turns out he wasn't at fault, Catti Brie doesn't forgive him; on the contrary, she doesn't.
He didn't want her to follow them to protect her, but as usual, she followed them.
Inevitably, Wulfgar, trying to help Catti Brie who was in trouble, is killed by the monster from the abyss, and then the roof collapses on him, as we know.
Catti Brie has a rather lukewarm reaction to Wulfgar's death, considering she doesn't even bother to dig him out from under the stones.
Then later, in book eight, she learns that Drizzt has gone to Menzoberranzan and decides, naturally, to follow him alone.
Regis tries not to say anything to protect her, but she slaps the little halfling and beats him up in a rather disturbing scene (a real abuse), then goes to Lady Alustriel to ask where Drizzt has gone.
On that occasion, Catti Brie also verbally abuses Alustriel, and the latter patiently helps her, but then finally snaps and says, "Look, you love him," earning Catti's silent assent.
Why does Catti Brie have this disrespectful attitude toward everyone? Why is the only one she treats well is Drizzt while she mistreats the others, including her own father?
Why doesn't she even question for a moment whether she was the cause of Wulfgar's death?
I used to like this character, but now I'm starting to dislike her.

🖼️Official Art Looking for Todd Lockwood art
Does anyone know where I can find high quality scans of the Todd Lockwood art? Seems like the internet is completely devoid of anything over 500 pixels. Hoping to get some desktop wallpaper sized. Or maybe digital editions of the Found Worlds art book?
These are honestly some of my favorite fantasy art in existence and would like to enjoy them more.
