Driftscussion How much does a "drift alignment" help?
Will you notice a huge improvement in ease of drifting by going from:
- slight toe-in front and rear
- and -2 to -3 camber front and rear
to
- slight toe out front, neutral rear toe
- 0 camber rear, -2 camber front
by adding adjustable rear arms?
Right now my alignment is *whatever the shop gave me* when I asked for 0 rear toe and slight toe out in the front, and was told "don't worry they own sports cars they know what they're doing" (this alignment shop was recommended by someone with a drift car too)... No printout either.
Car is a 1500kg/3300lb Lexus IS250 (factory manual) with Cusco 2way and 14/10kg/mm coilovers. I've never had a drift alignment and not many other people drift the same car, so I don't have a clue what alignment changes *feel* like, to know how to improve my own car. I've driven an e46 with a welded diff, all adjustable arms, proper alignment etc and it felt on-rails when sideways whereas my car... doesn't, and sometimes spins with no warning when otherwise stable at the end of a corner (although that could be down to super uneven grip on wet practice days, and I can't hear the RPMs increase due to stock exhaust).
