I know we're years beyond the controversy and the allegations and the fallout, but I replay it every now and then and it absolutely blows my mind that the people Doc would play with daily for years didn't reach out before cutting ties. They didn't just say "hey man, man to man, as friends, what happened? I know you can't legally get into it all, but tell me the truth". I had a friend I played NHL with daily and then he killed himself. Literally gamed with him 3 hours before he did it. His wife came into the voice chat the next night and told us. We had so many talks about real shit for over 2 years, we were tight and I know in the gaming space, this isn't unique. Many of us have this sort of story. So HOW did nobody reach out in the midst of it, as his friend, and just talk? Would've saved relationships. Clearly his current gaming friends haven't taken huge hits by associating, they're doing fine.
In my mind, he clearly did nothing wrong. No legal charges. No civil suit by the female in question before OR after the twitch payout (this is bigger than many realize). Doc CLEARLY still keeps up with her or did at one point to know she is married and has children. His own wife didn't leave him, another big indicator that there was nothing legitimate (and I can GUARANTEE she has seen the messages in question if she is anything like my own wife or anybody's wife I have ever known).
Can anybody help me understand this?
