🎉Achievement👍 Today, I broke my record. $715.57 in one day, dashing.

Today, I set out to beat my single day DoorDash record of $601.90. I did that in July of 2022. I havnt really came close since.(especially because you need to set aside 20 hours to even have a chance.. 6am-2am). We had $1 peak pay here in South Jersey for 6 hours, and a separate “do 50 deliveries get 50 bucks) it POURED all day and I was soaked… but I was running yellow lights, cutting people off with my shopping cart, and took NO breaks. We smashed the record and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to beat this.

Feel free to ask questions!

Final counts:
$665.57 (my last dash tipped me an extra $1 as I’m writing this)
$50 from the promo
=715.57

19.3 hours
715.57/19.3 =37.07
I really don’t know how I did that.

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 You guys were completely wrong and totally gatekeeping.

6 months ago I quit my corporate job to DoorDash full time. Y’all said it was the honeymoon phase and I’d soon get fucked with low orders from DoorDash and I was just getting the good orders to get me hooked.

Fast forward 6 months and I’m making basically the same as I was at my $55k salary job. But I have so much more control and am much happier. Anyone who says you can’t make money doing this is an idiot too.

Side note “BuT aLL tHe WeAr and tEaR on YoUr CaR”

First of all that’s a tax deduction. Second of all I was commuting 500 miles a week for 5 days in office downtown in exchange for my salary and 50 hours. With no tax benefit.

I’m chillin tbh.

Complaints I’m sick of being treated like a “lazy bum” by my family.

• Upvotes

Ever since I quit my job, and started DoorDashing full-time, my family has been treating me like I’m a complete idiot and I’m lazy, for doing so.

For over a year, I’m not exaggerating, during every single conversation with some of my friends and family, at some point, they step up on a soap-box and start telling me how I’m putting miles on my car and I need to get a job. I work every day. I try to vent about my day to them, and they just ignore my woes, because they think I shouldn’t DD anyway, therefore, any grievances I have are my fault.

It’s frustrating when I think about how, I typically make about $21/hr, doordashing, and I made $28 an hour tonight ($25.2, when I factor out price of gas). I know that the “real job” they would be happy with me taking will likely pay $12-$15, before taxes. I work hard every day, and come home to people who act like I don’t do anything. I don’t know how to fix that… I just needed to vent, somewhere.

It was pretty darn easy, too. Also, Waymo sucks for taking jobs away.

🤬Rant about DD🥵 Well doordash is officially dead in my market now

The only thing preventing more drivers from coming on and taking orders was the zone not being busy and having to schedule, now that anyone can dash 24/7, there's no point of scheduling anymore.

Wait times for offers went from 5 to 15 minutes to an hour or more, like yes in a saturated market already starving for orders, what we needed was more drivers to be able to dash anytime.

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 Best Tip Ever

Yesterday, I delivered an order from Little Caesars pizza to this guy, and he was standing outside his a apartment complex in the parking lot waiting for me when I got there. I handed the pizza to him, and he said, "Thank you." Then, a little girl, maybe six or seven years old, came running out and asked, "Daddy, daddy, is he gone yet? I want to thank them!!" She then said, "Thank you for the pizza, it smells yummy!" After that, another little girl, maybe three years old, came running out and said, "Thank you, I promise I'll eat my pizza all gone!" That just made my day. Best tip ever!

Joke/Memes🥸 Dasherphobia

Dasherphobia is the funniest thing to me. I swear if it says leave at the door, you’ll never see a sign of these people. In weird driveways I’ll be doing a 19 point turn in someone’s driveway while their burger is getting cold but you know they’re not gonna open the door till I’m out of sight.

👋New Driver🤗 My AR is improving.

Post image

My AR is improving as you can see in my screenshot. I'm rejecting all $10 for 10 miles trips into downtown. And if possible I try to reject anything $3.50 or lower bc I accepted a harmless lookiing $3 50 and it turned out to be a no parking luxury apartment with 3 full bags of chipotle and on the 10th floor with gang members on the elevator.

🤬Rant about DD🥵 Normalize these standards

• Upvotes

Add the following four lines to your cell phone's clipboard. Use after every delivery as negative feedback.

$2 per pickup.
$1.50 per mile.
$2 per mile after 5 miles.
$7 minimum.

This should be the baseline, not an average. It is the responsibility of the service provider (Doordash) to ensure these rates when the customer's tip isn't sufficient. It doesn't matter if you're delivering an $8 coffee or $200 worth of Chinese Food. You're not here to do deliveries for free.

🤬Rant about DD🥵 I hate this stupid company.

I delivered an order recently only for the customer to tell me there was no option to leave a tip after. I went to my cash app hoping they wouldn't mind sending me the tip directly. But there's 0 way for you to get back into a past chat. I contacted DD support and they were absolutely 0 help at all. I get garbage 2 and 3 dollar orders ALL DAY. And then when someone is kind enough to leave a tip. They can't? Garbage company. I genuinely need that money 😭😭

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 First false claim…

Post image
6 Upvotes

I was wondering when my day would come. I wish I could see what they said or how DD believed them. But nah now everything getting documented as hell.

I think I know which order it is too. Its usually an area I avoid but it was stacked with another order and it was slow and good money.

I am never going in that area again.

If you DD long enough you know there are certain areas where people will do this. I just never thought it’d happen to me (yet).

It was a $16.xx order (7 miles) stacked and whats funny is, the base pay was 14.xx, the tip was $2 from them and the other person was $0.

But with that high base pay it was a large order, they prob tried to get a refund or something smh

🤬App Issues 😩 Problems with new update

Anyone else’s app saying you’re not at the drop off location when trying to complete orders? It happened to me 3 times last night. It’s a huge inconvenience as I’ve had to contact support about it which takes forever to resolve. Also, it’s make me even more worried that someone will try to lie and say they didn’t receive their purchase. I also don’t like the way the setup is now with double orders.

❓Customer Question🤔 Minor Beef

Customers: If you're going to have your order set to "hand it to me," that's fine, but please be ready to answer your door in a reasonable timeframe if you know you ordered something and a person is going to be knocking/ringing at the door. We aren't paid by the hour most of the time, The only way to make decent money doing DD is to be very efficient and have several orders an hour. Having us wait 5+ minutes at your door while you finish up a conversation on your phone or watch a YouTube video is taking money out of our pockets. Time is money. The exception would be for disabled people. I completely understand it might take you a few minutes to get to the door, and that's okay. I get it. For everyone else, please be as quick as possible, anticipate someone is coming to your door, and respect their time as much as possible. If you don't want to do this, have your order marked as "leave at door." This is much better for everyone involved! To the customers who meet us outside, who answer doors promptly, and so on kudos to you and thanks! To everyone else, please be more considerate.

I am back to DD after being off since May. I don't understand the points system and what it takes to level up.

BTW my lat deliveries are such bull. I have none since I started back.

Need Advice🙏 I found out that some drivers in my area order food just to give a 4-star rating to the delivery driver and bring their rating down.

🤬DoorDash Support Issues😩 Wish me luck idk what suspicions they have

Post image

I was just about to end my night too. And got a good order 3 mi 11$ still in my neighborhood to head home right after. But I should of ended it right before that offer like I planned at least I could of had a chance to cash out. This is why I cash out daily on every app you never know when they will pull something like this. Stopping you from getting paid. And seriously at this time. After dealing with the hurricane in the gulf coast. Hopefully its just about all the items that are not available for purchase due to the hurricane. But other than that idk what they are finding me doing unusual or suspicious activity.

Well i guess im ubering for the rest of the night.

Got a 8$ 4mile for 2 order, I would just delivery like normal but then I got this message from customer support. OK no problem. The think is this "VIP" leave no tip. So yeah DD definition of VIP is more like very important person because how cheap they are, I guess

🤬DoorDash Support Issues😩 Doordash sent me a duplicate reimbursement for an out of pocket shopping order. What do I do?

I did a shopping order, Red Card declined. I know it's always risky to pay out of pocket, but I've done it several times and never had any issue personally.

After I deliver it, first agent told me I had to file a reimbursement claim form. So I did, and it was unsuccessful. Submit another form immediately after. While I'm waiting for that to process, I contact another agent. That agent gives me a reimbursement but it was significantly less than what was owed so I'm assuming they accidentally sent me the amount for another shopping order I did today. I told them that and they sent me the remaining amount they owed.

Then the reimbursement claim form came through. I really didn't think it would be successful but it was. I figured after the agent reimbursed me they would close the case and the existing form but they didn't. So now I have duplicate reimbursements.

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 McDonald’s employees are idiots

I go to pick an order up and this Old lady I see every day for the past year or more wont Hand me the order. I tell her I have to scan the reciept. She says she has to see me confirm. I tell her again I have to scan it. so I reach my phone over and scan it while she’s holding it. It auto completes the pick up. I try to take the bag, she’s still holding it and says I need to see you hit pick up. I tell her it’s already picked up. She still refuses to let go. I just had to leave man.

its literally NOT a requirement to show us hitting pick up or anything on our phone. DD support confirmed this and gave me half pay. I’ll keep showing my phone to the idiots to save time, but I’m not arguing with any one of these idiot store workers. if they act retarded I’m just leaving and canceling the order.

i really want to punch people
