New SM hired and brought in. New SM was giving hours out, cause our store? busy store, looked like a Disaster, boxes everywhere, nothing was able to get done properly, so the new SM had more people on, more stock days, 3 people for closing GUESS WHAT WAS GETTING DONE?! the store looked nicer, getting cleaner and NOW they told her no, only 2 people on for closing, cut the hours.... guess whats happening again? Yup yoooooou guessed it, come in for a shift and boxes are everywhere again already its been 4 days since truck >.> i want to freaking bitch corp out so bad but im just an associate they wont listen to me...

Today, this customer had the nerve to say because we didn't have an iPhone charger available so he could charge his phone to pay for his items, we should let him take his items now (NOT PAID FOR) to go home and charge his phone, and once it's charged he'll come back and pay😂😂 When the SM told him absolutely not, he said we were rude and left in a huff😤 and yes, he was SERIOUS. Can you believe it?!?! 🤦

So on Wednesday I was working out the last bit of truck when this guy came in. He is a regular and he has always made me feel uncomfortable. He is always talking about all his girlfriends and he always makes a point in asking me or another woman when the condoms are. They are in the same place they have been for like 5 years. Plus he will literally walk past my male coworkers just to ask me where they are. Well on Wednesday he walked in and says "what's up shorty" i have already told him multiple times not to call me that. Well he apologized for calling me that then asked where the condoms were. So I tell him so he goes to walk past me and he puts both his hands on my shoulders and rubbed them down my arms and like rubbed his body on my backside. He had plenty of room to walk past me. I just froze then told the asm on duty I was going to use that bathroom. I just washed my hands and stood in the bathroom for like 10 minutes. The store manager was in the office i could have told her or I could have told the asm that was there but I didn't. I can't really explain why I didn't say anything. Idk how to really feel about this. Realistically I should tell my manager about this but idk. Also I apologize for any spelling or grammar errors I have dyslexia and it almost 1am.

Do I just say I quit or does it have to be more formal?

I realize this job isn't for me no matter how hard I try, how slow I go in counting the cash and change, and how often I recheck what I'm doing I get things wrong with cash. I was out almost 14 dollars tonight and I have no.idea how I did it. The advice I'm given isn't useful and I think its better if I quit before I cost this stupid corporation more money.

Do I just lie and say I have another opportunity coming up (a half truth but idk when it starts) or what. I know that I shouldn't just not show up but idk what the formal way of doing this is

Small update: drafted up a resignation letter but I'm not going to bring it in the moment I start my shift. The other opportunity I have is at a temp agency, I was there last year and I enjoyed my time at the company I was at through them and I know it'll be the same place. Though not permanent, it does get me somewhere that I know and I comfortable with before I can look at other places again. I'm going to see how my next shift goes, even if goes well I think I am going to resign as I don't think I could handle having another panic attack over what happened (I know it was an extreme reaction.)

So I got put on suspension for a no call no-show and it was a complete accident. I should’ve checked my schedule and I wasn’t aware that I worked the Sunday, but HR said they were going to investigate me and that I should be getting something from them or a call to see if I’m terminated but I never got anything. They never contacted me or anything and now compass doesn’t work workday doesn’t work none of my logins work anymore. Tried texting the manager and asking and got nothing.

Okay, please don’t laugh. I am a cashier at Dollar Tree. Recently, I had a really rough shift after getting very little sleep. I was the only one at the register for a few hours—the managers were in a meeting and I had no back-up. The line was long and people kept coming in. One customer was rude to me, and that kind of started my day off wrong and then another customer got mad at me because instead of handing her the receipt I sat it down. She got angry with me because of it and said that she extended her hand out and I said the line was long and I was on a hurry. She continued to argue and I told her I was a nice person and kind of laughed. She mimicked my laugh and said “My ass!”. I looked up and the whole line was glaring at me and I tried to laugh it off and the customers continued to glare like they were on her side. Next thing you know, I started to cry and could not stop. I couldn’t excuse myself to go to the bathroom because Inhad no backup, and the customers kept coming. I was so embarrassed until a half an hour later I was able to run to the bathroom for a minute.
I know retail workers are expected to remain professional, and I do my best. Also I am always nice to the customers even when they are rude. I’m wondering whether other cashiers have ever had a moment like this and how you handled it?

What yall think ? I've been here over a year. And nothing changes 🥲 its so annoying and disheartening. Im so irritated too beacuase i shit you not only get 1 or 2 days a week.. I'm the last person they should be reaching out to especially out of work.

It's an item for Halloween. It's a deck of cards that contains something like 50 Roblox gift cards, each is worth 200 Roblox points or bux or dollars or whatever they call them. And, I guess that you give out the gift cards instead of candy. So, $50 for $100 worth of points for Roblox. Has anybody else's store got this? Does anybody even play Roblox anymore?

Has anybody never submitted an office officetrax form to fix a computer in their store? I’m trying to do it now and there’s so many options and it’s very confusing. Would appreciate the help.😭

My manager has hired all these extra people, but somehow she still doesn’t know how to make a proper schedule. How do you manage to schedule people and not have a morning cashier?? Like, make it make sense. 😭And the crazy part is this isn’t even the first time she’s done something like this. What’s the point of hiring more people if you can’t make sure the store has proper coverage? I genuinely don’t understand the logic behind it.

I get a handful of creepy customers obviously, but there’s one in particular that I’m pretty concerned about because he asks me questions like where I live, what my schedule is, if I have a boyfriend. When I didn’t tell him my schedule he got pushy and tried to guess, “So what you come in at like 3? 3:30? You’re here until close?” When I told him I have a boyfriend he got irritated and started complaining about how “they all do” and then pretty quickly jumped into telling me that he’s a “juggalo” (Insane Clown Posse fan), which isn’t a bad thing in itself but combined with all these other things it is worth noting. He knows my name and will look for me every time he comes in the store and has uncomfortably long conversations with me when he’s usually hounding me for personal questions. He has those “shark eyes” if you catch my drift.

What is the protocol for this? I don’t know his name and my manager was there for part of the conversation and basically hid in the office listening the whole time until he left.

Hi! I’m a merch so I have open availability especially on truck days.
The past few weeks my schedule has been changing on my days off without being told until I look. I communicated the past 3 weeks when my appointment was and was ignored each time and just stuck at the store until I had my relief.
I’m fed up with it. I make my dr appointments solely based on the schedule that is posted so it doesn’t interfere with me working. Having to reschedule an appointment 3 times for a dosage change on my meds is irking me.

After Christmas, we will have in store music.

I’ve been at Dollar Tree for 2 and a half years now and recently within the past 2 weeks my store has had 2 assistant managers leave (one fired, one quit) this leaves my store with only 3 managers and because of this ive honestly considered quitting. Since this whole situation my SM has been scheduling me way more hours and been hinting at trying to make me a manager. I really don’t want to become one, because first of all, 75% of my other co workers can barely even count cash, and 2nd of all im a full time student. I’ve already talked with my other 2 managers about it and they both said if she asks me to not take it lol but im scared if any of my other coworkers become an ASM they’re gonna run our store even further into the ground than it already is. Opinions??
