Nar Priest, Praise Singer

I'm sharing a free cleric subclass for Kengir, part of my upcoming Bronze Age Mesopotamian 5e setting.

The Nar Priest is a praise singer: a cleric whose sacred work is hymn, chant, and public devotion.

In Kengir, praise is not background music. It is an offering. Temples rely on singers to honor the gods, invoke blessings, steady the community, and keep divine attention turned toward the city. A Nar Priest's voice carries real power.

Where the previously shared Ašipu-Priest confronts hostile spirits and the Išippu-Priest cleanses spiritual defilement, the Nar Priest maintains divine favor through sacred song and communal worship.

At the table, this subclass gives the party a support cleric built around sacred performance. They heal, inspire, protect, grant temporary hit points, strengthen allies with hymns, and turn religious song into battlefield resilience.

Mechanically, the subclass includes Voice of the Divine, Hymns of Protection, Divine Strike, Chant of Resilience, Song of Glory, and Heavenly Chorus. It also adds new spells like Hymn of Courage, Hymn of Healing, Chant of Protection, Warding Hymn, Hymn of Valor, Melody of Renewal, and Heavenly Harmony.

Do you like clerics whose magic feels liturgical and communal, or do you prefer clerics as armor-clad miracle workers?

Hello fellow adventurers,

Today we are excited to share another extended preview of Mythological Items, now live on Kickstarter!

This is our new D&D 5E and 2024-compatible manual dedicated entirely to magic items inspired by myths, legends, and ancient stories from around the world.

Inside the book, you will find 300+ mythological magic items, including weapons, armor, wondrous items, and scaling items designed to grow alongside your characters and campaigns.

Our goal with Mythological Items is to create more than a simple collection of treasure. Each item is designed to feel like part of a myth: something that can serve as a reward, a quest hook, or even the center of an entire adventure.

The book includes items inspired by many different mythological traditions, including Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Asian, American, Roman, Mesopotamian, African, and other mythologies from across the world. Whether you want divine weapons, cursed artifacts, heroic relics, monster-themed treasures, or legendary items tied to ancient stories, this book is built to bring myth directly to your table.

The Kickstarter page includes a full presentation of the project, several previews, and a free 30-page PDF preview showing a sample of the content from the book.

You can also find many of our other manuals in PDF and high-quality print editions, with special prices currently available both for Mythological Items and for all our other releases.

You can visit the Kickstarter page here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mythoschronicles/300-mythological-items-for-5e-and-2024

Thank you again for your support. We hope to see you on our journey!

What's Your Favorite Homebrew Common Rarity Magic Item?

I recently had to explain the Babel Earring to a DM who wanted experienced characters for his campaign and I had forgotten that the character I offered had one. And that thought made me wonder about what Common Rarity magic items have appeared in campaigns you have played.

For those curious, the Babel Earring allows the wearer to cast Comprehend Languages 3 times per long rest. but it only works for spoken languages, never written words. These two limitations place it on a lower tier than the Helm of Comprehend Languages.

One-shot Recommendation

Hi! Any recommendations for a one-shot (3-4 hours) with mysteries/puzzles? It's for 4 lvl 2 players.

I'm asking for specific recommendations you can vouch for, not "search in Dmsguild" or stuff like that.

Thanks!
