Nangma Valley: Northern Pakistan.

📍District Ganche Northern Pakistan(Early September).

The journey starts from Skardu, we drove roughly 2.5 hours to Khaplu, where we picked up a friend. From there, another 2 hours of rough mountain roads took us to the village of Kanday, where the trek begins. We packed our backpacks and gear and set off on foot around 5 PM.

By 7:30 PM, with the sun about to set, we reached Mingolo Broq and made camp for the night. Chicken BBQ, tea, and the kind of deep sleep you only get in camps.

The next morning we started hiking with the sunrise. About four hours later, the trail opened into the Nangma Valley, and it took our breath away. Totally worth it.

Alternative to Renting a Car in Skardu

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hello, My wife and I are traveling to skardu for 1 week this November from Karachi and our plan is to book a luxury hotel and just relax. We don't want to travel and go to places because we have already explored that already on our last trip.

The thing which i want to discuss is that i don't want to book a car with or without a driver as we are not traveling and visiting any places. We will just move from one hotel to another and in one week we'll visit 3 hotel (2 days each). So booking a car and driver is just an extra expense for us.

So what will be the alternative for this as I don't think there will be any Indrive or Yango in Skardu.

Anyone got any clips of the actual trek road?
Thinking of going on it but not too sure if it’s right for a semi-beginner.

23F, shadi ko 3 mahine hue hain akelay Skardu jana chahti hoon, advice chahiye

Assalam o Alaikum,
Main 23 saal ki hoon aur meri shadi ko abhi 3 mahine hue hain. Mere husband abroad rehte hain. Hum dono ne mil kar Skardu jane ka plan banaya tha aur sab kuch book bhi kar liya tha, lekin unfortunately unko chutti nahi mil saki aur unhein trip cancel karni pari.
Kyunkay sab kuch pehle se booked tha aur main nahi chahti thi ke sab paisa aur planning waste ho jaye, is liye maine decide kiya ke main Lahore se khud Skardu chali jaungi.
Mere papers aur visa process mein shayad abhi almost ek saal lag jaye, jab tak main apne husband ke paas ja sakun. Is liye main soch rahi hoon ke is waqt ko zaya karne ke bajaye Pakistan ko explore karun aur jitni jagahain ho sakein dekhoon. ❤️
Skardu asal mein hum dono ka plan tha, is liye ab akelay jana thora ajeeb lag raha hai, lekin main chahti hoon ke phir bhi achi memories banaun.
Agar kisi ko Skardu ka experience hai to please mujhe guide karein:
Kahan kahan zaroor jana chahiye?
Kya aik young larki ke liye akelay Skardu travel karna safe hai?
Koi reliable driver ya guide recommend kar sakte hain?
Koi achi aur safe hotel/guesthouse recommendation?
Kya koi girls ya small travel groups hain jo upcoming days mein Skardu ja rahe hon?
Aap logon ki advice aur personal experiences bohat helpful honge. ❤️

Skardu in December

Hi everyone,

we’re planning a family trip (No Kids) from Karachi to Skardu this December and would love some quick advice: Is the extreme cold manageable, and are major spots like Shangrila, Katpana, and Shigar accessible?

Also, how reliable are flights from Karachi (direct or via ISB) regarding winter weather delays, and how effective is the heating/hot water at hotels like Hashupi, Rivage, Himmel, Khoj, or Dynasty during sub-zero temperatures?

Also as December is off season so do hotel prices drop or they offer the same prices ?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Skardu in Late October

I'll be visiting Skardu between 23rd to 29th October with a group. I've not been to Skardu before and wanted to know if it's a good time considering the cold temperatures? Will I be able to see the autumn vibes there? I'm from Karachi, travelling for the first time and concerned about safety, network signals and weather conditions. Can someone guide me on this. TIA.

First-Time Visit

Hello fellas! I’m planning a trip in October with a group of guys and will be staying for about a week. Is there anything I should keep in mind before visiting? Also, what are the places or attractions that we absolutely shouldn’t miss? And any recommendations on the best areas or places for stay?

Would really appreciate any tips and recommendations. Thanks!

Guy in a Blue Shirt — Manthoka Waterfall

Saw someone at Manthoka Waterfall on Tuesday, 22nd September, around 11:40 AM.
There was this guy in a blue shirt who I noticed looking at me for a while. He was also at the restaurant there with a few other guys.

I probably won’t even see this guy again, but if you happen to be him and see this… lol, lmk 😭

Skardu/Gilgit wedding experience

I know this might sound crazy, but I’ve always wanted to experience a Gilgit wedding in Skardu during my stay! I definitely don’t want to crash anyone’s big day, but if any of you are getting married or knows someone getting married while I’m there.... can I join? 🥹

I'll be visiting Shigar and Skardu for the very first time and will be there for 5 days, from 26th October - 30th October

Couple looking for another couple to share Skardu transport costs – Sept 2026

My husband and I are travelling to Skardu and looking for another couple to join us for local sightseeing so we can split the cost of rental car/driver between two couples.

We're looking for a young/youngish married couple, preferably without children, who are comfortable travelling together and sharing transport costs. We're planning places such as Shigar Fort, Shangrila/Lower Kachura, Upper Kachura, Soq Valley and sheosar lake/deosai.

If you're already planning Skardu in the coming dates, DM me with your dates, number of people and rough itinerary.
