Annual Halloween Party at the Museum of Natural History (October 25th, 10am-4pm): puppet shows, bug cooking, and phobias. (Purchase a museum pass to participate. Children aged 0-5 get in for free)

Halloween BRICKSPLOSION 2026 - The Halifax LEGO® Fan Event (October 31st-November 1st in the Dalhousie Student Union Building. Note that each day has different time slots): hundreds of original creations from brick artists across Canada, interactive activities, lots of vendors, lego video game demo stations, and historic lego sets (VIP: $23.23, kids aged 0-5: free, weekend pass: $69.51, superfan pass: $159.35)

REMAX NOVA’s Treat Accessibly Village (October 31st, 11am-3pm at REMAX NOVA, 397 Bedford Highway): Accessible trick or treating - designed so everyone can participate (free)

Spooktacular Splash at Atlantic Splash Adventure (weekends until October 31st from 12-5pm): Costume contests, pumpkin painting, trick or treating, giant inflatable corn maze

Ooky Spooky Halloween Market (October 17th-18th at IKEA Dartmouth Crossing): Dress in your Halloween costume and shop from local businesses, makers, artists, and more

Bluenose Ghosts Festival (October 15th-18th, October 21st-31st at Alderney Landing): haunted house, selfie park escape room, and spiritual readings (free entry, some features cost money)

Ghost tours and experiences

Halifax Citadel Ghost Tour: Dare to Be Scared at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site: You follow the guide who has a candlelight through passageways and you'll go into dark tunnels toward prison cells that once housed soldiers convicted of minor offences ($23.29)

The Halifax Ghost Walk: Every night in October, begins at the Old Town Clock: Dusty takes you on a walk through downtown Halifax and tells you the folklore of Nova Scotia with stories of ghosts, spirits, forerunners, and devils (adults: $30, youth/students/seniors: $20, 5-12 years old: $15)

Ghosts of Halifax Cruise with Ambassatours (October 24th, 25th, 30th): hear chilling tales about shipwrecks, maritime disasters, ghostly encounters, and unexplained happenings and legends (adults: $43.97, youth: $33.30, children: $23.88, children 0-4: free)

Unhinged Door: An Evening of Frightening Tales (October 30th, 7-8:30pm at Evergreen House): Spirit guide takes you through different rooms - hosted by Storytellers Circle of Halifax ($15)
