This was at that Freedom Fuel gas station in Detroit. I don't get how this is legal. Also, only $10? That'll get you maybe 2 and 1/3 gallons of gas if you're lucky.

The Michigan Humane Society on Chrysler Drive ended up helping out. They took him, checked for a chip (there was none), neutered him, vaccinated him, fixed up his paw, and clipped his ear. But because he was very unhandleable, and they didn’t have any fosters available to work with him, they want us to re-release him.
I am working with Detroit Alley Cats for them to possibly come assess whether he is appropriate to be placed with one of their fosters for “rehabilitation,” where he would be re-acclimated to indoor life. But as of right now I have not heard back, and the humane society said he needs to be released from the trap today (the pee pad in there is soiled and he is sitting right on it and we are unable to get it out, which creates risk of infection). He has already been in the trap near 48 hours, so he has to be released. If DAC does end up wanting to come assess him, I will try to re-trap him. But the humane society as well as a family member of mine who is TNR certified said he will probably do best on the streets, given his behavior and fear of humans.
We plan to continue feeding him, keep an eye on him for health issues, and will build an insulated cat house to leave out for him so as it gets colder he has a place to keep warm.
I’m sorry if this is a disappointing resolution. I wish we could’ve gotten him assessed today, and if appropriate placed with a foster. I tried reaching out to dozens of rescues, the only one who I got a lead with is DAC and like I said they have not contacted back yet. If I have an update with them I will post it. But for now he is taken care of and won’t be making any more kittens. Too bad, because he is very handsome.
And note, we would have taken him in ourselves, but we have two cats of our own. One of our cats has had a lot of medical issues this year that cost us around $8000, and we can’t risk bringing in a cat whose infection status in terms of FeLV, FIV, etc is unknown. I also have been having health issues myself recently and taking on a responsibility like that would be a lot for me especially because my bf works a lot and I would have to do a lot of the work myself. We did donate $50 to the humane society as a thank you for their help, and donated a dozen or so cans of cat food. I got a case of food at Costco today too, so we can continue to feed him here.

I just drove down Eureka to get 275 and there is a ton of state police and Detroit police on Eureka, on 275, all surrounding the airport. I’m not big on watching the news all the time but wondering if anyone knows what’s going on also this is around 1:30 PM.

Tony, you asked if my name was Sarah. It wasn’t, but I wish I’d kept talking to you instead of awkwardly shaking your hand like we were at a business meeting 😂
If you happen to see this, I’d love a do-over.

An Oakland County judge on Tuesday denied a defense attorney’s request to reduce bond for a DoorDash driver charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly punching a Wixom man who died months later.
Ryan Turner, 41, also of Wixom, is in the Oakland County Jail, with bond set at $750,000. He’s accused in the death of Lloyd Poole, 75, who was allegedly assaulted by Turner near Poole’s home in the area of Barberry Circle and Windingway Drive in the Hidden Creek subdivision on Dec. 28, 2025. Poole fell and hit his head on the roadway after being struck, police said, and Turner drove away, leaving him there.
Lloyd Poole was reportedly punched outside his Wixom home in the Hidden Creek subdivision and died months later (Aileen Wingblad/MediaNews Group)
Turner subsequently came to the Wixom police station and spoke with officers about the incident, police said. He allegedly admitted to police that he struck Poole with a closed fist, claiming he had felt threatened after Poole confronted him about speeding.
The punch left Poole unconscious and hospitalized, officials said, and after he died in May the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office amended a misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault against Turner to the felony.
Turner’s jury trial is scheduled for Feb. 8, 2027 before Oakland County Circuit Judge Cheryl Matthews.

Turned 26, life f*cked me, and I missed my enrollment period. I don’t wanna wait until Nov 1 to get insurance and be seen by a doctor.
Where in Detroit can I get seen for strep throat and treated? I don’t mind paying out-of-pocket fees.
Edit: Wow. Blown away by these responses. This is what this subreddit needs to be for! I decided that I’ll got with HUDA or Plum health.

I'm not sure if this is the right flair for this but...
Has Eloise haunted house been updated any from about three years ago? I think i went in 2023, or 2022... I'm looking to do something fun before a surgery I'm having next Tuesday, and I am kind of thinking of going to Eloise, but only if they have added/changed it up since then...
And please don't recommend it drive out to Erabus, or other far places, Eloise is relatively close, and i tire quite easily.

Does anyone know of any good lofts/ share experiences? I’m(27m) artist relocating at the end of the year for work from Atlanta (ik culture shock). I’m looking for a decent loft apartment for rent that still allows for art studio/office space.
