Hey everyone. We are a small indie team working on Candletales, a real-time tactical roguelite featuring physical dice combat.
We launched our "Coming Soon" page on September 22. Since then, we’ve been trying to hustle with marketing across Reddit, Twitter, and TikTok, but we feel like we are flying completely blind regarding the feedback.
Here are our exact stats for these first 3 weeks:
- Page Visits: 1,519 (Almost entirely external traffic from our social media posts).
- Steam Impressions: 457 (The Steam algorithm is bullying us XD).
- Wishlists: 67.
With a conversion rate of roughly 4.4%, we honestly have no idea if this is a normal baseline for a niche indie game starting out, or if our page is actively scaring people away.
We have showcased the game at several local events and the hands-on feedback has been incredibly positive, people genuinely love playing it. However, we are fully aware it’s a bit of a "weird" game. We suspect it might be very hard to understand what the game actually is, or see why it's fun, just by looking at the Steam page without getting your hands on it.
We need a reality check. Please, don't hold back and tear our page apart:
Any brutal feedback on how to improve the page before we keep pushing external traffic would be incredibly appreciated!

PD: We know the trailer is terrible, but it's a game with just one scene, where the board moves and the player doesn't, and we're not good at editing, we're saving up to hire a professional!
