Both characters are very different in almost every way and Aqua doesnt bug Us with their shenanigans they bug Seth with them unlike Orange who makes it the fun gangs problem every time.
To be fair, we also just see Aqua's kindof character enough that it's really easy to stay immersed,
Like Orange is an "ass hole", but they're a comedic goofy goober of an asshole.
If we pushed Aqua from the immersion like we do Orange, Aqua is basically I dunno...insane and would probably kill someone IRL? Plus there's no way to be safe from that, they start stabbing Seth at one point because they're bored.
Like yeah, I'm being extreme here, but the point is we're taking Orange from all the whimsy but we never do the same for Aqua.
Like keep in mind orange is also the character making silly shadow puppet faces, does 0 damage on their first encounter, and gets mad at Seth for forgetting their Abs.
And to be clear i'm not arguing we should take Aqua from the whimsy, i'm arguing the whole game is whimsy let's not forget that! Not everything is meant to be treated like real life encounters
some of the "ralsei is extremely racist against orange specifically" comics and r/drawthisasdeltarune made me appreciate the character more. Is it a bit ironic? Yeah but it's still better than what I experienced in my first playthrough. I just prefer yellow's constant suicide attempts a lot better, I'm sorry.
Orange immediately started out by saying Ralsei should be wearing a hat (hiding himself and restricting self expression) and the cycle of back and forth never stopped
My theory is that Ralseiâs form, like that of the flowers, is something he himself dreamed up. When Orange insults his appearance, sheâs insulting something that Ralsei put a lot of time into developing, and one of the few things about himself heâs truly proud of, according to an optional conversation with Kris in chapter 3.
I also think Orange claiming to be human despite obviously not being one makes Ralsei uncomfortable because his unconditional trust of Kris is partly based off of them being the only human in the story.
I know there are other things about him that Ralsei hates, but Flowery (probably the most humanoid) STILL gets called out by Ralsei for not being a real human
I think it's because all the other flowers just call themselves humans and try to look how humans do whereas Orange just looks like a mouse and doesn't really try to actually look like a human and just tells everyone around her they don't look good. Basically, she's a hypocrite and is targeting Ralsei specifically
And thats cycle back to ralsei attacking orange insecurities of feelings weak and not helpful and feelings she's wrong because of the way that she looks
In the end, both are wrong and doing the wrong thing, but orange is depicted as a pre teen stupid cry bully kid while ralsei is supposed to the the responsible and the guide of the group
Plus, ralsei attacking orange in THIS specific thing while Kris is right there feelings the same type of rejection and insecurities of being the only different trying to fit in is diabolical
Susie ALSO doesn't like how Ralsei is acting in these scenes and feels awkward about it, probably for the same similar reasons, also that she doesn't like bullying anymore
He has spent all but 4 days of his life in isolation, and probably never foresaw meeting people that bothered him, so meeting someone annoying who also targeted his recently overcome insecurities would definitely cause that reaction
The way I see it, Ralsei was just about coming to terms with the idea that, yeah, he's a person and having his own desires and emotions is okay. So, on top of Orange genuinely and repeatedly hitting at a major insecurity of his, he just didn't know when to stop.
He's been a doormat his whole life, so he overcorrected and ended up being a bit of a bully here.
I think it's because the insults to him where pretty hurtful and them going back and forth at each other for quite a while and orange telling Ralsei to hide his face.
no. in fact she was one of my favorite flowers. i'd find myself cooing and feeling bad for her whenever she cried, she was adorable, her fight is pretty tough, i love her đ§Ą
Not at all! She's cute, she's funny, she has her own heartfelt moments, and is as important, as the other flowers, dare I say on the same level Aqua is. If anyone slanders her, kill them on the spot.
I hate what the internet does to language, because I read "she's cute, she's funny" snd got flashbacks to creeps using that to mean something entirely else, god damn it!!!!!!!!
Anyway, HARD agree with you. She's adorbs! Her interactions in her fight are pretty cute (Ralsei remarking about the CHEESEcake cracking me up a lil bit, shes so clueless abt what Ralsei meant there lol). One thing I didn't really understand is how tf are her projectiles all doing 1 damage but then Orange herself does 0 damage in the post-Seth/Aqua fight cutscene... I understand it's like, "funny logic", but the logic-man in me doesn't understand. :( :( :(

Aqua is annoying in a "run around the room throwing things" way, Orange is annoying in a "on the floor kicking and screaming in the middle of a grocery store" way.
I did the same thing with flowery,I hated him during most of chapter 5 because of his self centeredness and because me boi ralsei,then the final battle was so GOOD I started considering how funky and cool he is and now he's my favourite character
orange haters are just ralsei in disguise. i do kinda see it so devil's advocacy time. aqua is stupid, and does not realize that she can be annoying. orange is just annoying and maybe knows it, being a crybaby because she takes everything seriously. you cannot equate nothing is taken seriously to everything is taken seriously. but i'm mostly indifferent to orange, even tho in my opinion she is the worst of the flowers, but it's like ehh to i love this character instead of i hate this character to i love this character.
Orange takes the most clear cut things said to her the worst possible way so many times you would think it's on purpose, like I would avoid talking to them if they were a real person.
I did find her annoying, though that is not the fault of Orange herself. Itâs Ralseiâs rage baiting ass fault.
When Susie was talking to her about her strength, I enjoyed it. I just wanted to see more interactions between Susie and Orange because it seems like Susie could relate to her in a way.
But Ralsei had to open their fucking mouth every single time! The jokes werenât funny Ralsei!

Orange weirdly didn't annoy me that much, but Aqua was the one I liked the least and actually found annoying. Which is kinda a shame cuz a lot of people like her.
why the shame? as someone who does like aqua you shouldn't have to feel bad about not fitting in with everyone else just because you personally don't like what they do. Everyone's tied to their own opinion, just to be too rude and pushy about it
Personally I'm just annoyed by it because there's a a huge gap between flower art of Seth, Aqua, and Flowery and all the others. My favorites Blue, Orange, and Green get nowhere near enough or as much art.
orange is fine when people are poking fun at them before the reveal, but after the reveal it became "look at ralsei being barely as mean as flowery is to him, and everyone is upset at ralsei!" which is a little unfair, and also a little infuriating watching people be all buddy buddy with flowery, but ralsei saying something by accident is treat as a deadly insult.
Personally I think Orange was best when she was a shadow on the wall. I think the joke being that no one could even hear her was funnier than the mouse jokes, but I also get it would've gotten boring for an entire chapter. And the mouse jokes are cute!
They are nowhere near the same in any way, shape, or form. Orange plays the victim every single time she can for literally no reason whatsoever, while Aqua just has fun and plays with us, and admits to losing when she actually loses. I understand why most people didn't enjoy Orange's participation while liking Aqua's
Aqua: Isn't actually trying to be annoying, is just trying to have fun, mostly annoys Seth rather than you, isn't exactly on anyone's side(occasionally helps you)
Orange: Is definitely bothering you, openly mocks you, specifically targets Ralsei's hatless form, tries to get others on her side(specifically green and pink)
I don't hate orange but I can see why some find her more annoying than aqua
I didnât mind Orange. I didnât like her during the Pink dialogue but I thought she was pretty charming. (Even if Green and her kicked my ass). Honestly Aqua was more annoying but I came around to her near the end.
I find the interactions between Ralsei and her funny, reminds me of siblings, but I also like them triggering each other. I find pretty weird how some people hating on orange seem triggered af though.
Orange is an annoying 5 year old that constantly starts arguments by insulting others and then makes herself the victim. And she's been doing that for the entirety of the flower castle. Never ending "Haha you chibbies suck and I am better. No I am not weak I just dont have my pocket medic giving me critz ubercharge every turn. Also the furry freak is ugly and stinks and should wear a hat to hide his ugly face. AND I'LL TEL FLOWERY THAT YOU PICKED ON ME(that deaf fuck heard lactose as "lack toes")" is not making her better in anyone's eyes. Orange fans are just Ralsei haters tbh.
Aqua is annoying only to Seth. She's just silly and funny. Also she had a lot less screen time than the rat did.
They already have vastly different bodies and personalities. Who says they need to all be the same age? The dark world changes how things are perceived.
It totally isnt because Aqua gets alot more screentime, multiple encounters, has a genuinely fun running dynamic with Seth, isnt as gimmicky and is introduced during a far stronger part of the chapter with a more gentle story curve.
I donât even get the hype around Aqua. Because unlike Orange, she doesnât even have a tail, and humans are suppose to have at least one, so where is it? T_T
