I will say one nice thing about DS3: I think mountain/ice mummies are dope and it was cool to see this concept applied to necromorphs

I just think it’s silly that the more human ones have dual hatchets

I just see it as a sign of the Necromorphs getting smarter. They have been waiting for 2 million years to do something productive, so I guess during that time they figured out that they could get much closer to new victims if they don't mutate the new forms too much.

Even in a snowstorm you can immediately spot a Slasher coming from far away, but in the same conditions a hooded human figure walking up to you with ice picks might just get close enough. Well, that's if you don't notice their foamy glowing mouth and eyes.

Makes sense, and I do think that’s an interesting and plausible theory. But I just remembered they also have hatchets in the city on the moon(?) when the game starts. Did they raid the local…idek what store honestly. Ds3 was a bit goofy.

Batons, actually.

and they dual-wield wrenches inside the ships...

It's silly looking, and the idea that necromorphs need to play pretend to kill their victims is ludicrous. One slasher killed the entire crew of the USM Valor, but we're out here inventing head-canons to explain why the Tau Volantis necros manifested as bog-standard zombies.

It's because the devs were misguided and made poor decisions.

Oh my god, they use wrenches in the ships? That’s awesome.

200 years, not 2 million.

200 years since humanity arrived on the planet, but it's been 2 million years since the Convergence Event and flash freeze happened.

The brother moons are not stupid, and they know to adapt Necromorphs to exploit the environment.

Picture this. You are a S.C.A.F trooper on Tau Volantis. Monsters with massive blade arms have been massacring everyone you know, and you are stranded in a snowstorm. Visibility is low, and you spot a figure in the distance - its not one of the monsters, its a person. Your first instinct is to call out, and approach, he is your comrade and there is strength in numbers after all. You get close and boom, you have an ice pick planted in your skull.

That is the purpose of the Fodder/Waster, it’s essentially a trick. Kind of genius when you really think of it

i admit, they should have mixed the weapons up. pipes, picks, knives, ect. Not sure why the colonial soldiers had so many axes on an ice world. xD

The discount resident evil zombies were really boring, people are saying "It's a form of disguise" but I feel like the regular slashers already have a human enough shape to lure people in, especially in a snow storm, the fodder is just a really uninteresting generic design.

Also fair! The necromorphs are far cooler.

I actually liked the coop. Played it with a friend and we had a really great time

To be fair, literally everything is more fun with a friend, but I also really enjoyed 3 in co-op, I've played it with like two people and it was great fun both times, especially the little co-op missions with the hallucinations parts.

I hated the leaper design in that game but I do love the coop with my brother

The weapon crafting is fun ( though it could be more detailed )

Damn bruh, the weapon crafting system doesn't get enough love, and it makes more sense than the credits and store system of the first two.

DS3 is my favorite of the series. I know it's more action but it doesn't feel quite as linear and allows chances to explore, do side-missions.

This screenshot just gave me so much nostalgia 😭

The problem with Dead Space 3 is that you can see it try and do so many things right, but at the same time it can’t help but shoot itself in the foot on the easy things. It’s like every step forward has two steps back even though a lot of the time I really enjoyed that step forward
