Advice Request Exchange IG

How quickly do you exchange instagram with each other after matching on IG? I’m a girl and after we talk a while and I like the guy I ask them to move to instagram just bc I hate the apps chatting option, I prefer to text over instagram, but idk if I’m doing it too fast. Like sometimes the first day after texting in the apps, or 3 days max, am I too quick?

Experience Overview What made me finally leave dating apps

I've been using Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge for about 6 months at that point. I long ago ran out of people to even swipe on even on the highest distance range, and I got a whopping 0 likes and matches in that time across all apps.

Recently I ended up moving countries. Here I went through everyone I could swipe on with the max distance set after around a week. Again, still no likes. I managed to make my way through everyone in two countries with nothing to show for it.

Eventually I decided to see what my competition was doing to see what was so offensive about my profile that almost 7 months and two countries later I still couldn't get one like. So I switched my filter briefly to also show men, so I could see what they were doing. And in just the two minutes or so of swiping no on every profile, I got a whopping 10 likes...

I deleted all three apps soon after that.

Question Hinge new start

Hi!

As the title says I'm thinking about re-creating my account. I have been using the app inconsistenly and likes have dried out. This would be my first time deleting and starting over on Hinge. Is there any potential problems doing so? I am planning to use same number and email as before

Advice Request Unmatched

I (27m) just started talking to a girl (24f) today things were going well and she gave me her number. We chatted over message a bit and then talked otp for a bit. She said she enjoyed the conversation. Now I’m going through my app and noticed she unmatched me. Is this common ? I’m asking because I don’t want to come off as pushy if she’s not as interested as I thought.

Question How do you know what to look for on dating apps?

I’m 23F and I’ve never dated before. I haven’t been having much luck with dating apps, I don’t know if it’s just me but they make me question if I’m even attracted to men because a lot of these men are attractive but I’m not attracted to them (even though I feel like I would be if I saw them irl) the shallow nature of it makes it hard for me to truly know if I’m interested. A lot of dating profiles are the same? So do I go by attraction alone? People say not to do that. How do people know what to look for on dating apps? :/

Question What is you're opening line/move?

As the title says I am wondering what everyone does after a match? Do you drop a pick up line, just say hi, mention something on their profile? I guess hinge is easy because you send a like with a comment but for like tinder or hinge if they don't send a comment I never know how to open up the conversation.

Advice Request Dating apps and shadow ban

I’ve been on most of the apps over the past few years with limited success, I’ve had a couple dates and some hookups but nothing serious.

I’ve used them all tinder, bumble, Facebook dating, and hinge briefly.

My experience is that I feel like I’m shadow banned on all platforms because my likes are super limited and the matches I do have are very low quality. I’m not the worst looking guy and would say I’m about average or a little above.

I’ve been holding off on hinge since it’s just seems that is the most legitimate dating app now a days and did not want to get back on until I’m ready for a real relationship.

My fear is that I’m probably also shadow banned from hinge as well

Is there any other way to reset a shadow ban aside from using a new number?

If not any other suggestions. I feel like hinge is my last hope and if thats also the same experience then with the other app I may need to look into meeting new people he old fashion way which in not the best at…

Experience Overview I did an experiment and totally wasted ny money

For context I'm a 23 year old guy. I've been on dating apps for like a year and a half and my luck has been hit or miss. I've been on two dates, but I seem to go through phases where sometimes I get a bunch of likes and sometimes I don't get any. I decided to do an experiment where I bought a month of Tinder and Hinge's most expensive tier, which came out to $60 each.

In the time I've been on apps, I've gotten like 4 matches on Hinge and just as many likes. This past month after paying I still got zero likes and zero matches. Complete waste of money.

Tinder wasn't much better. I got got like 4 matches and maybe 5 likes. Which is honestly about the rate that I already get so the only difference was that I could see the likes. None of these matches were good. The best one was only in town visiting family for the weekend and actually lives like 3 hours away, which is a bit too far for me.

I live in a smaller city, but even with turning my distance to the max and no age filter I still did pretty bad this time around. I'm going to stay on the apps because I don't have many opportunities to meet women but I won't be paying again.

What app is this? Help me find this dating app

There was this dating / social media kind of app where the main thing was people leaving voice notes instead of text when talking to people. People leave voice notes to match and its also shows if two people are having good really good conversations, and shows a snippet of their convos for people to like and leave comments on.

It's more of a social app but is like dating app too.

If anyone knows what is the app called, please lemme know

Question How should I start?

I (19M gay) have never been in a relationship and I don't know where to start.

I feel like it would be impossible for me to meet people in the wild because 1. I'm terrified of talking to people in person 2. I'm gay so that cuts out at least 80% of guys 3. I rarely go out except for work/school/family. plus a million more reasons

I know I'm young and I shouldn't rush into relationships but it's all I can think about 😭😭. My friend recommended me to get on dating apps but honestly I don't trust him a whole lot when it comes to life advice.

Question Why is everyone flipping me off in their profile picture?

Why is everyone flipping me off in their profile picture?

It doesn't look cool or hard, I dunno what you're going for but it looks basic to me. I have seen so many people that all look the same. Get a moth tattoo on your neck, flip the camera off and be into ENM. I don't want to judge but I have to admit I find it all very cliche.

On the other side there are people that just want to get married and settle down, buy a farm, have kids blablabla.

Can anyone meet in the middle somewhere?

Question Tinder matches

Just wondering, but how long after joining do you start receiving matches on Tinder? Even Bumble or Hinge? It's been a week but I haven't received any matches on anything. Do matches take longer than a week?

Question Damn i’m becoming a redditor but question..

  1. I know people who have found success on Duet Dating App, but like i genuinely dk how I have 33 likes in a week, which for me is a huge improvement before and not one of them is a match…Are these just bots or am i passing on the ones who like me (problem is i can’t just spam likes or i have no likes for the day)
  2. How do you stay positive and not let negative events or things affect your energy, like i can say “ i got this “ but then my face looks like im beefing with you 😭😭
  3. And lastly rn rejection hurts badly, like I can’t explain it all in this post , but how do yall genuinely be like “there’s nothing wrong with me, i just wasn’t the right fit” in dating, in work, in everything

Question Normal for guys on tinder?

I redownloaded tinder after only using it for one day over a year ago. Been in the gym for a few years and got leaner and took better pics of myself. I got 39 likes in the 12ish hours I redownloaded it, but only got two matches, and the one of them instantly unmatched me (no I didn’t say anything weird/vulgar/dumb). I used up all my likes and didn’t think I was too picky. Is that a normal ratio for likes to matches? I didn’t use any sort of boost and can’t see my likes.

Question On Tinder should you message without matching, as a guy?

You can message in response to part of someone's profile, eg to ask what music or books they like. Is that the recommended way/the way many people are starting conversations? Been on it for 2 weeks, only 4 likes - 3 of those within the first day - and no matches, in a city of ≈700k people. I don't think I'm able to present my personality well from my profile/photos so doubt the types of women I like will take an interest (I often like more alt or nerdy people, but I mostly dress normally and am non-White. Been told by friends I'm "completely" different IRL than through messages, and a profile is even more of an abstraction). Side note: the app experience is very shallow tbh, I feel wrong swiping through profiles, attempting to judge others from so little information. Honestly would prefer an app that just lets you write a longer bio free-form.

Question What do you do?

How do you manage chatting to multiple people. I tend to enjoy chatting to someone and then don't want to spread out across people then they stop chatting and I'm left at square one. I'm kind of over it. Such a waste of time.

Resources Banned for having a banned account (yet never banned) from all Match Group apps

So I wake up to find my hinge, tinder, league account banned. I make appeals. I check my spam folder. I get an email from Match.com om an account I don’t use yet haven’t deactivated saying. The reason for my ban was I had a previously banned account and it was detected it by using automated tools.

I’ve never been banned from any of these.

I’m a paying member of hinge who has not had any warnings or prior bans. My conduct on it hasn’t been controversial.

Anyone else have similar issues? I’m trying to be hopeful about my appeal, because it seems like a genuine technical mishap.

Question If someone unmatches you after they give you their number and you talk for a while, is that okay?

Usually when this happens, they’ve ghosted. Based on what I and others have seen. But some people claim this is no big deal. Someone I met is claiming this, but after I texted them, I haven’t heard from them in days, and then one day I discovered they unmatched without saying anything. Am I overreacting?

CRINGE Ban Prompt Generated Pics

For the long of all that is holy can these apps please ban the uploading of FAKE PICS!

Used to be we just had to worry about someone using stolen pics and being catfished, but not I’m finding profiles where pics have been created by some stupid A I generator

Legit just had a profile where every single pic was fake and showed this moron with a drink in hand in like 7 different locations
Are you so ugly and your life so dull you need fake pics!
SMH 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Experience Overview Dating is tough

Something I’ve noticed on Bumble and Hinge is that it almost feels like it’s so easy for guys to find a nice girl. When I scroll through women’s profiles, I see so many gorgeous, smart, accomplished women who seem to have their lives together. But when I scroll through men’s profiles, I genuinely struggle to find even one person I’d want to go on a date with. It’s not that I’m expecting someone perfect, but it’s rare to come across someone I’m genuinely attracted to or whose profile makes me curious enough to want to know more about them.

It’s honestly becoming so draining. Every time I open these apps, I end up closing them within a few minutes, feeling disappointed and wondering why I’m even wasting my time. I keep hoping I’ll come across someone interesting, but the experience is almost always the same. It’s frustrating because I do want to meet someone, but the process itself feels so exhausting that I don’t even feel like trying anymore. Dating apps have started feeling less like an opportunity to find a connection and more like a repetitive cycle of opening the app, scrolling through profiles, feeling nothing, and giving up.

Question What the buzz?!

Hi all, I've been back in the online dating pool for a few weeks now and I've been trying to figure out what the deal is with the bee pictures.

I've seen a lot of women's profiles where they will only have 1 picture, and it's a bee on a flower. It's not the same bee and flower every time, but usually in these cases there is either no bio or a minimal bio.

It feels like this is something, like a code, or has some kind of meaning. Or... An I just reading too far into things? 🤪

Thanks!
