I am taking my training at FBF next week. I know the manual has alot of information to memorize. I wanted to ask for any helpful tips on memorization for form A, Form B and in-cab inspection and brake test. Anything helpful would be much appreciated. TYIA

How are the basket routes for the night shift or what other functions are given to bottom guys at the garage

I just got my CDL on my own after failing with the DSNY program, I don’t want to start the training camp right away how long can I drag this before calling HR and letting them know I have my CDL??

Hey everyone, I wanted to share something I’ve been working on in my free time. It’s called Trashed, and the idea is to bring some of the everyday stuff we keep track of into one simple app/website.
These are a few screenshots of where it’s at so far. I’ve been building out the calendar, shift logging, sick, emergency, and FMLA trackers. There is detailed maps with features for both S/W and supervisors, and a directory of garages with useful contacts. There’s still a lot I’m working on, including accounts, saved data and the paycheck estimator, so this is an early look rather than a finished product.
It’s just me putting this together as a fun side project. It isn’t affiliated with the department or either union. I’m trying to make something useful that feels like it was made for us, without making it complicated to use.
I’d genuinely like to hear what you think. What would you want in something like this? Is there anything you’re always writing down, looking up, or wishing you had an easier way to keep track of?
Appreciate anyone taking the time to look and share an idea. I’d love to build this into something people actually enjoy using.

Hi all,

I got a ticket last week and went to pay it online.Then I found out that I had one from May 2020. As this was from the height of the pandemic I don’t remember receiving the ticket or forgot about it. Now the bill has gotten a lot higher due to the interest. So I wanted to know if there is anything I can do to pay a reduced amount or do I have no choice but to pay the ticket default settlement amount?

My list number is 86XX so my question is should I get my CDL before the orientation email that comes in Spring or after? I know I probably won’t be in the first two classes next year but I def feel like I got a shot for late summer or fall classes. Does it make sense to get it now or wait until orientation since I’ll probably have time to get it after the email?
