Greetings, everyone!
With the beginning of autumn, most students have once again started attending schools and universities. The weather is getting colder and damper, and the eerie season is fast approaching. In regards to that last statement, the DDMC Committee has decided to run one more mod jam to round off this surprisingly active year. We are pleased to announce the official...
Spooky Scary Mod Jam 2026!
Everybody who wants to participate will have until the 31st of October (about 6 weeks) to create a mod related to this haunting yearly celebration. Any and all horror mods are accepted, though the judges would especially like to see some mods themed around All Hallow's Eve. With that said, you are welcome to play around with the theme and show us how creative you are.
Judging
Your mods shall be judged by the following individuals:
KoStick68 | u/KonStick68
DaEs | u/DokiDokiDaEs
Atazoth | u/superkajda
The judging criteria we intend on using are story (writing quality), art, music, coding and overall enjoyment.
Prizes
The following blessings shall be bestowed upon the competitors deemed victorious:
1st place - a month of Discord Nitro
Top 3 - a pin in the DDMC subreddit
All participants will get a special mention during the monthly mod showcases
Rules
Here are the requirements you ought to adhere to in order to participate:
- The mods must be related to the theme of horror.
- All mods submitted must follow Team Salvato's IP guidelines and the rules set by r/DDLCMods.
- Anyone is allowed to enter, whether you're solo, a group, a collab or a team of modders.
- Mods should be at least 5 minutes long and up to an hour (mods may be longer, but only the first hour will be judged).
- Absolutely no generative AI allowed.
- Credit all assets used, either in-game or with a credits.txt file (preferably both).
- NSFW mods are allowed, however they must be marked as such in the submission form.
- Mods must be made entirely within the time frame of the mod jam (18th of September - 31st of October).
- The submission form (found below) closes on the 31st of October at 23:59 UTC.
Final notes
The finished mods may be submitted here.
Side note: the mod jam does not mean the DDMX isn't happening this year. The expo will be announced at a later time.
We sincerely wish everyone to have a wonderful autumn, and will eagerly await your mod jam submissions.
With hope,
the DDMC Committee
