Clayface Too those who have seen clayface, who intense is the horror?

• Upvotes

I'm desperate to see clayface, but I've never seen much body horror. I was fine with obsession this year, but just how disturbing is this movie? Side note: I haven't been too freaked out by the trailers, so how much worse does the horror get than that?

Discussion/Question Does Barenton have a kryptonite sun?

I'm sorry if this question has been asked already.

In Supergirl something that confused me a little was Supergirl's weakness and susceptibility on Barenton, the planet with the green sun.

I was under the impression that yellow suns give Kryptonians their superpowers, and Kryptonite weakens or depowers them.

Barenton's sun is just a star that emits green light, right? It's not kryptonite light somehow? She should be depowered becsuse it's not a yellow sun, but not weakened and dying. Did they explain it in the movie and I missed it?

Discussion/Question How the DCU could include Alan Scott in its universe

So it seems like Alan Scott doesnt exist in the DCU based on the Hall of Justice mural in Superman. It makes sense, since it’s been established that Hal Jordan is the first human to be called Green Lantern, so it’d be weird that there was a previous superhero before him that was also called Green Lantern but was never actually a member of the corps.

That said, I was doing some thinking and I honestly feel like it wouldn’t be that hard to include Alan Scott in the DCU timeline. He’s never been a member of the Lantern Corps, his power comes from a different source other than the Emotional Spectrum and he wears a completely unique costume. Visually, he has nothing to do with Green Lanterns at all, so his existence wouldn’t actually contradict Hal.

The only issue is that you can’t call him Green Lantern. And there’s an easy fix for that. In the comics, Alan Scott briefly went by another name: “Sentinel.” Just call him that and establish him as a purely magic based superhero who has nothing to do with lanterns or the Guardians

just some thoughts I wanted to put out there

Discussion/Question The Batman Part II should have been cancelled by now, but I don't know when the proper time would have been.

It was originally supposed to come out this time last year. October 2025. Now, it won't come out until february 2028 at the earliest. Twenty six months late (!!!!) We're not even close to release. It's not part of the new shared universe, so it's not important for the integrity of that at all. I don't think a sequel was even strictly necessary-- the story was wrapped up in Part I, the ending isn't open ended, it doesn't tease anything new or interesting. I think there's a strong case that Part II should have been scrapped at some point. This whole thing feels like a pretty obvious sunk cost fallacy scenario.

Here's the problem though: when do you cancel it? After the first delay? After Matt Reeves tells you about whatever personal issue he has? Would said issue even warrant a cancellation? Clearly not. Do you scrap it as soon as you give James Gunn the keys and let him cook up a new Batman immediately?

Sticky situation with no clear answer. Wishing the best for Matt Reeves and his family.

Discussion/Question Era Prediction

Post image
82 Upvotes

Here are my predictions on the eras that a lot of the DCU heroes will come from. The JSA definitely predates these groups, seemingly in the 40s just like Post Crisis.

Silver Age- Hal Jordan (confirmed), Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, Ted Kord, Dinah Lance, Carter Hall, Shayera Hall, Ray Palmer

Corporate Era- Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Mr Terrific, Metamorpho, Booster Gold, Scott and Barda, Jaime Reyes, Fire and Ice

Final Justice League lineup- Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Wally West, John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, Kendra Saunders, Ryan Choi.

These predictions are primarily based on the way Lanterns established the GL mantle as being almost identical to Post Crisis, just with John taking the ring as opposed to Kyle. I think it’s safe to assume Barry and Oliver are the same age, and Wally will be the flash. It’s also important to note that every single Justice Gang Member in Superman 2025 is a legacy character.

Discussion/Question Why people hate Supergirl?

I recently just watched supergirl for the first time, and im now even more confused why so many people hated it. Now im not huge into comics, so it could very well be a shit adaptation of the character and i just dont know it, but from what I do kinda now about the character, I think it was a decent movie and adaptation of her. So is there any other valid reasons for it to be hated on besides the constant brain-dead Snyder fans whining for their universe back or the insecure misogynist complaining its not superMAN?(cause thats really all I kept, and keep seeing being complaints)

Elseworlds/Vertigo Everybody give Matt Reeves there thoughts and/or prayers

Post image

Just hate to see it, put aside whatever your fears for how this movie’ll turn out and look at the personal side of this, and we just gotta give him our best wishes and encourage him to make whatever decision he feels is right. Also, this is not a Snyder situation as Reeves handpicked Steven Soderbergh (he’s up there with Reeves himself and many other elite directors in terms of talent) to finish production so please don’t be like I was in the beginning and preparing for the worst, just give him your thoughts and/or prayers.

Discussion/Question Hear Me Out

Its a little unorthodox, but can we get a Cohen Brothers/A24 style film with Darkseid, Orion, Highfather, Kalibak, Mr. Miracle, Big Barda, General Steppenwolf, Superman, and Braniac?

How would you want the plot to go?

(you, not AI)

Discussion/Question Would you prefer Brainiac in MOT to be a threat primarily because of his robot army, or because of his own individual power?

Post image
34 Upvotes

To put it another way, what would you rather see in the film: Brainiac being difficult to defeat mainly because he commands a massive army of robots, or, while still having an army, being extremely powerful in his own right, capable of facing the heroes directly and posing a major threat even without the help of his robots?

Theory My Theory on How Gunn Will Introduce the Original 7 Justice League Members

I think I figured out Gunn's plan for the Justice League.

Right now, it seems like he's building toward Justice League International. But here's what I think will happen when we eventually get the main Justice League with the seven core members.

Some major villain shows up on Earth with an entire army. Justice League International gets sent to deal with the invading forces while the League's heavy hitters (the seven) are tasked with taking on the big bad himself. It would be a great way to establish the difference between the two teams and give JLI a meaningful role without overshadowing the main Justice League.

Discussion/Question Am I the only one who’s a bit concerned about these new updates about The Batman Part II?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I hope and pray Matt Reeves is doing alright, but if I’m being honest, I think they should just wait until he’s ready. It’s his movie and he should release it when it’s his time. I’d rather a great Batman movie that takes 100 years to make, than a rushed Batman film.

Steven Sodenburg is a good director, but this isn’t his film.

Similar to Joss Whedon coming in to finish the Justice League. He’s talented and arguably the MCU wouldn’t be what it is without him, but it was Zack Snyder’s movie and he deserved the time table and the space to complete it when it was originally planned to come out.

And before you ask, I’m not even really a fan of Snyder’s work, but I feel it’s slimy when studios try to rush out a product by taking something a director has already spent lots of time working on, and rushing it out with someone else’s mark on it. Doesn’t matter which director that is.

Discussion/Question What are the chances we will get this haircut in MOT?

It makes sense with the ending of lanterns and him becoming more of a cosmic hero. I just wasn’t aware if he meant updating the hair as in updating or tweaking the bowl cut or actually getting a new haircut his wording was a little weird in the article

Discussion/Question To be honest, making a Green Lantern series is a really bad idea, even with Guy already being in the DCU. We could've used the show to introduce a new character, like Martian Manhunter, with a True Detective-style approach

Thumbnail

The Martian Manhunter series could have a True Detective-style approach, with John discovering the Martian and remembering his true history: that he was never human, but came from Mars. The Martian would help him fight Ma'alefa'ak, a White Martian who's secretly infiltrated a small town on Earth, while also serving as a manifestation of John's own mind (He would be the mystery of the series) By the end of the series, we could introduce Miss Martian, and with John finally understanding himself, he could seek out Superman instead of their meeting feeling so random.

Meanwhile, the Green Lanterns could get an animated movie like the one about Big Barda, or even a big-budget theatrical film. After all, they're characters you can't properly adapt in a series with a shoestring budget.

To be honest, I already think having the Justice Gang and Guy there was a mistake. Personally, I think John Stewart should've appeared first, and they should draw more inspiration from the animated series when making a movie. The movie's villain could be Sinestro and the Yellow Corps, or even Krona. That way, the Legion of doom would already have three established villains: Lex Luthor, Ma'alefa'ak, and maybe Sinestro or another Lantern. Idk

Paradise Lost My Paradise Lost Idea

THIS IS JUST AN IDEA FROM A FAN:

The basic premise is this: What if Themyscira wasn't a perfectly unified paradise, but a massive island with thousands of years of history, different cultures, competing political factions, and unresolved generational trauma?

Synopsis: 10 years before Diana was born, a great war occured in Themyscria for control of the island. This is the story of how the war started, when tensions were starting to rise after the death of the queen. This is the story about Hippolyta, leader of the Themyscrian Warriors, and Carmela, the mob wife who washes up on the island the day of the queens funeral running away from her violent crime boss husband. This is the story of how they became friends and how they ended up becoming each others worst enemies. This is the story of the battle that occured between all the sects of Themyscryia vying for control that led to Hippolyta becoming the new queen.

My version of Themyscria: AMAZONIAN DOES NOT MEAN GREEK. Make Themyscria a massive island, almost a country. Different tribes and groups of women have come from different poitns of time to escape the vicious nature of men, from Ancient Greece to modern day. This means different cultures have thrived and grown and there have been conflicts over the centuries. Each sector of the island has its own leader as well as their own rules and customs. The queen, an ancient greek queen who was there when the island was made by Athena, maintains central control over the island while allowing each sector to be governed individually. And so when the queen dies everyone wants the throne for themselves.

- The queen has spies going out of the island and learning about human culture secretly, making sure the island is safe and keeping up to date with mankind and being prepared for any threats. This means that the island also has access to modern weaponry, Hippolyta even teaches her warriors to shoot all kinds of guns and theres a whole armory kept hidden, only Hippolyta and the queen could access it.

Forces outside of the island have an interest in Themscyria. Artemises huntresses come in because Artemis wants control of the land. Hera plays all sides and is more of a manipulative mobster. Ares wants Themscyria under his protection so that the warriors can join his army.

Carmela is the secret antagonist. She recognises her ability to get power on this island, as well as the power she can get on the outside world if she takes over. She starts of as the timid scared survivor, Hippolytas friend who helps her grieve in the aftermath of the queens death. How she goes from victim to powerful player to leader who has manipulated all sides and formed her own army is her story. Her inability to mentally escape the world of violence and cycle of abuse that she physically escaped from changes Themscyria itself and makes her the main enemy.
