DAE absolutely hate ASMR?
I don’t understand why people like it, and I never will.

And you can hear their tongue/spit smacking around while they’re whispering…

I have always been repulsed by whispering. Cannot stand it. ASMR sends me over the edge. My mother starts whispering midway through a sentence for no fucking reason and I either check out or have to tell her to talk normal lol. For some reason, all British accents give me the same vibe but not as strong like I can manage through it but it still gets under my skin a bit.

Same, like hearing that one paper plate NPC whisper in Ultimate Custom Night, it makes me feel so violated.

i hate whispering. that's what people are doing when they're talking/whispering into a microphone?

I think it’s absolute torture! Hopefully this “trend” will go away very soon!

There's this chillout techno song from 30+ years ago ~ Cydonia - Galactic Rebirth ~ there's a percussive rolling thrumming / trilling sound in the first minute that produces frisson up and down my spine and inside my brain paired with good headphones and minimal outside noise. THAT'S what true ASMR should be
What we have now is some bastardized internet version of influencer-wannabes doing annoying things to microphones

I don’t understand it at all. It’s boring at best but usually it’s annoying. (To me at least.) But someone must like it.

i don't understand it. how is it supposed to feel good? it's a video not real life in the room.

Certain types of ASMR piss me off. Specifically the videos of people eating loudly and smacking their lips into a mic. Fuck that nasty shit.

Especially when they make it sexual. It’s strange to me, and it shows up for children which is even more off putting to me.

What most people are trying to pass off as ASMR is total bullshit. The overly loud mouth sounds, wavy fingers, clacking fingernails, loudly eating, etc…..trash.
I used to get the “asmr” tingles as a little kid watching antique road show.

As someone who actually experiences asmr in the wild, I have never gotten a response from any "asmr video" and the wet mouth sounds and constant tapping on things makes me want to tear their hair out

probably because you don't actually experience Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.
the term asmr has been reduced to people doing audio roleplays and horny bait stuff. that isn't asmr inherently. it's just a pleasant sensation you get in your head or even throughout your body.
it doesn't even need to have a person in it. it can just be directional sound or even music.

I hate what some people call ASMR.
