Did anyone get their daca renewal if you're from one of the 75 banned countries list? If so when did you apply? When did it come?

Hi everyone,
My wife is a DACA recipient, and her work permit expires during the first week of January. We're also expecting our second child on December 23rd, so she'll already be on maternity leave when her EAD expires.
I'm curious if anyone has experienced something similar, particularly regarding short-term disability payments through a third-party provider and employer-sponsored health insurance.
If her EAD expires while she's already on an approved leave of absence, would she still be eligible to receive short-term disability payments? Also, would her employer be able to continue providing health insurance benefits during her leave, even with an expired EAD?
I understand this is likely very company-specific, and we fully intend to communicate with her employer and be transparent about the situation.
We're just hoping her renewal gets approved before it becomes an issue. Our plan was to wait until roughly 30 days before expiration to notify her employer, just in case her approval comes through and we can avoid creating unnecessary complications.
I'm mainly looking to hear from anyone who's been through something similar or has knowledge of how maternity leave, short-term disability, and health insurance work when a DACA recipient's EAD expires during an approved leave of absence.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! I got married last year and renewed my DACA in July 2026. On my renewal application, I changed my marital status from single to married since my last application two years ago. I didnāt change my last name, so all my other answers remained the same.
Since my marital status was the only change, do I still need to submit my marriage certificate or any additional documentation? Iām worried that I should have included it with my renewal. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Thank you!

Applied April, biometrics in May and still nothing. I called USCIS today and they said they extracted my case in late September but could not give any more information. Anyone else gotten that before or know what that means?

My work permit expired yesterday. HR never flagged it or asked about a renewed EAD, but I didn't want this coming back to haunt me down the road, so I took the initiative and emailed HR today to let them know what's going on. I also spoke with my manager.
HR hasn't told me how long my leave of absence (LOA) will be yet, but Iāve already turned in my company laptop. She said sheās reaching out to the company's immigration lawyer to see if anything can be done, though I honestly don't know what options are left. I already submitted an expedite request on my own, and my congressman's caseworker tried as wellāboth were denied.
I was laid off from a really great job in 2025, and after a tough job hunt, I finally landed this new role just two months ago. Now this happens. I applied for my renewal back in May and am praying for good news soon. Balancing all this stress with two little kids at home makes this the most overwhelming period of my life. It also doesnt help that im the primary parent in charge of all the bills (which keep piling up). I keep second-guessing myself, wondering if I should've just stayed quiet and kept working, even though I know doing things by the book was the safer move.

Hi everyone, Iām around 6 months waiting for my renewal and I expire November 20th. I have called and done a case inquiry on my I-765 application and was told the same thing that many others are hearing. āCase is being processedā. I was told I can submit and inquiry request which is my next step.
Curious if others have consulted an immigration attorney for this step in the process and if it was worth it?
I have been renewing by myself for the past several cycles online and have never had a problem but wondering if an expedited request is a bit out of my depth when there are paid professionals that do this everyday and know the ins and out. I really want to make sure things are done right and not give USCIS a reason to deny.

My DACA expires 10/23. I work nightshift so I would clock in 10/22 and clock out 10/23 at 0800. Am I still working legally then? I have another shift 10/23 but I am calling out and not working anymore afterwards. I let them know but Iām still on the schedule. Is that how the expiration date works? Am I still good to drive back to my home state on 10/23 after my shift? May be a dumb question but I want to make sure Iām thinking of it correctly.

Can anyone share their experience asking for an unpaid Leave of absence at their job? Iām dreading having to have this conversation but iām still waiting on renewal š and would be grateful if i could at least have job still available as I financially provide for my mom who is a US Citizen. I work at a very large company and submitted renewal 6 months before expiration, if thatās relevant.
Did you have this conversation with HR directly or was your direct manger looped in? (i am aware of some of the political views of my colleagues and would prefer that they donāt have the context)
How long was leave approved for (30 days, 60 days, etc.)
Did it start before or on the day of EAD expiration?
Could I request unpaid medical leave instead?
Whatās the process for returning to work?
Thank you all for the advice, and remaining a huge community for me in these times as I am the only one in my family in this situation. Keeping hope alive that we all get approvals soon š

My work authorization/Daca expired and I am currently working on getting it renewed. I submitted the renewal paperwork before it expired. I was given 30 days LOA. If the approval comes in after termination would I be eligible to be rehired?

Currently in the process of starting a non-profit for those who are not able to afford the renewal process of their DACA. Eventually itāll branch out and become something bigger. What do you guys think about this venture of mine?

Hi guys, Iāve been trying to add my case to my account that Iāve used for all my previous cases & I keep getting the message that says I canāt add it because itās ālinkedā to another USCIS account.
Has anyone got that message before??
I can still look up my case on the regular look up case page so Iāve been able to keep track. But Iād like more info on it.
Hey everyone. Hope you guys all get a positive message tomorrow so life can all go back to normal. Question that I havenāt really heard to many people talk about, and correct me if Iām wrong. When I went to apply for my Daca early some time in December, I remember reading that if you apply too early (before 120 some odd days of your expiration) they can or will reject your application and make you wake closer to expiration date. Are you guys applying way earlier? Did this help you guys get approved earlier? I waited closer to my expiration date (march) and to this day havenāt heard a word. I know Iām not in not the only one dealing with this but whatever information you guys might have or experiences to help for next submission. Unless we get a miracle and congress approves something for us lol. Imagine how freaking awesome that would be. I feel that if America really saw us for who we ALL were, and allowed us some type of pathway to a green card through being Daca recipients, none of us would waste that opportunity and really bring value to our communities. Been on this sub Reddit for a bit now and been reading some stories, and damn i can honestly say we are all one of a kind and not to many people will feel or go through what we go through. Letās keep our heads up and our spirits high because this will all be behind us one day and eventually I truly believe we will no longer have to keep applying every two years.
Sorry for the little rant. You are all awesome. Thank you.

I have a real id and it says term limit on it. Iām wondering if I can use it to fly. Does your real id say term limit on it ? Any issues going through TSA?
Hello everyone, im sorry if this is just another post asking the same question that im guessing has been asked a million times. My 150 days starts around december 15, 2026. Am i screwed? ive never had issues with delays before. I do my renewals online on USCIS website. I normally receive my biometrics 2 weeks after and usually my approval comes in after a month and a couple days or so. What are these delays for that im seeing everyone talk about? Are they based on your country of origin, anything related to criminal record or something like that?
Im quite shaken as i have a Mortgage and ontop of that im making less money now than when i was 19 (im 26 now) so im already paycheck to paycheck and usually late on all my bills just due my shit pay. I lost my physical work permit so ive been stuck at this job for months now. I was optimistic about leaving my current job around late jan/february next year but now im concerned i wont even have job as ive heard the company i work for rechecks work authorization when the expiration comes. I have until May 14th 2027 so ill keep my hopes up but reading all these posts is making me re think everything
