You should know that Disney/Star Wars owns the trademark for the word droid.

The question is who would they send to enforce it, stormtroopers? Jedi? Wookiees?

Fuck, for real? Hmmm… could call them… Humandroids? A play on “humanoid”? Call them HDs because you GOT to have a shorthand nickname for it.

Sounds awesome
Do try to add some trading, exploring and whatnot, and let us enjoy the atmosphere on some longer routes. Love me some rain while flying a rusty spaceship.

This looks super cool and my type of game. Any chance this can be played through a LAN without internet connection?

Computers can speak natural language now not obscure code. Prompting is the new coding. It’s like how people hated photography at first but film is just an extension of the same principle- we are extending the coding principle now, and it lets us express ourselves directly rather than being dependent on companies that are happy to exploit us using compulsion loop methodology.

If you are just assigning them roles you aren't really programming them are you?

in a game about playing as a droid on an off-world mining planet, it only made sense that through progression you could eventually get some droids of your own and programme them for specific tasks. How I've incorporated it is heavily inspired by Final Fantasy XII's Gambit system, if anyone remembers it. It's effectively an easy way to set up roles for different entities based on sets of conditions. You can say, "When X happens, do Y." X can be any number of conditions, like enemy, target range, various health or ammo statuses on the ship, and Y can be manning certain turrets, calling in certain airstrikes, and various forms. Eventually this feels like a nice way to do progression and then also helps solo players do some of the harder objectives without needing to do coop necessarily.
fyi: my game is called NOMIAD for anyone curious :)
