Hey I just finished my interview. I'd love to hear what you guys think about my results.
Round 1: I got a LeetCode medium-hard the interviewer emphasized quite a few times that this was a tougher problem than usual. It was a graph-based DFS problem, and I got to a solution towards the end. We kind of ran out of time, but it wasn't the most optimal. He did say he liked my approach, and I wasn't able to get to the follow-up questions. However, he emphasized that he wasn't looking for the most optimal solution, but rather a good functioning solution instead. He said we went a little over time and didn't really say all that much besides the fact that he liked my approach, he saw exactly what my thought process was, and I used recursion to solve it instead. The interviewer mentioned he liked the way I explained things, and my code made sense to him.
Round 2: I got a LeetCode medium. And this time, I solved it perfectly. I mentioned the brute-force solution, and then I went into the solution. I solved that out, and I myself realized it wasn't the most optimal. Then I created the most optimal solution on the spot as well and explained it very well. The interviewer said I was great at explaining my thought process. My time complexity was the most optimal solution, and he said he wouldn't really change anything about the code. I solved his follow-up question. He said I had a great answer to that, talked about time complexity, and got his questions correct.
I'd love to know what you guys think about my chances to get to team matching.
